Alliance #4 Has Movie Spoilers?

The last issue of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Prequel Alliance mini-series came out yesterday and it provides a few possible spoilers for the movie. As TFW2005.com summarizes, here is information that ties directly into the movie:

- McClaren Robotics is a front to provide clean-up for the Transformers existence. If that name sounds familiar, way back in July, it was noted that Steve Tom was cast as the CEO of the company.
- The comic recreates a containment unit for the AllSpark that looks very similar to the promo pic that USA Today published (pic 6) late last year.
- Five new Transformers (panels below) are revealed: Corvette Centennial (Sideswipe), three motorcycles (Arcee, Chromia, ?), and if look carefully can see that mysterious Ice Cream Truck (The Twins first alt mode before becoming Chevy Beat and Trax?).

The last image above is just to show that the comic ends right before the movie begins - with the NEST on the hunt for Demolisher in Shanghai, China. The ice cream truck has caused all kinds of debate but I am still leaning towards it being Skids and Mudflap in disguise as they attempt to hunt Decepticons. I know many think the writers of the comic series are not working off the movie script but I think they are, the only real question is are they working off the shooting draft or an earlier version. Take it how you wish but for me, I am following my simple rule that all Hasbro sanctioned tie-ins are canon until they movie contradicts them. Thanks to an anonymous source for the panel pictures from Alliance #4.

  1. I always thought, given their ability to change forms seemingly at will... that the ice cream truck was likely to be Skids and Mudflap in another form.

The more I hear, the more excited I become. This movie is going to be great!

  2. Chromia!

  3. i still think there going to show the new autobots & decepticons arrive to earth to the point of putting what these pictures show in the movie just so people are asking "where the hell did these new robots come from?!?"

    ReplyDelete
  4. You dont have to show any autobots or decepticons physically coming to earth. We already know how they do it or you can add a minute worth of explanation/history and its done.

As for the motorcycles, terrible design, I loved arcee's design for the first movie, ya know the one where she had two legs? Ya, that one. Those unicycle robots are disgraceful and have the potential to destroy a character at first sight.

    NO UNICYCLES BAY

    ReplyDelete
  5. they aren't unicycles. If you look at the trailer for the movie in 1080p you can see that they have 2 wheels. just look a little closer in hd.

  6. Thanks for the link, Anon 3:39. I couldn't read very much of the bio on the back of Chromia's package but I could definitely make out the word Ironhide, so their relationship is probably intact in the movie.

Not too thrilled with the unicycle-looking design (whether there is 1 or 2 wheels hitting the ground, it still looks a little weird) but it definitely could be worse. Damn, I cannot wait for this movie!

  7. NO UNICYCLES

You just made BM Thrust one un-happy Con...:P

  8. what up chief? i'm sending acree over to your place now for a smackdown! she doesn't like your comments about her wheels.

  9. i dont see how any of this is spoiler. all stuff thats been out in the open since the trailers.

  10. Where is Jolt in the comic? The first seen picture of the cover had the Autobots standing over the new ones in the movie and Jolt was in the back. The new one doesn't have him in it. Does this mean that they wrote him out of the movie? I wasn't too crazy about the name in the first place, but I still wanted him in it. Maybe he comes to Earth later into the movie because I don't think that he is in the Shanghai scene anyway.

  11. Hey I know this sounds silly, but what if the ice cream truck is Kup? Ice cream Kup? I know it's stupid, but Bay does have a 5 yr old's sense of humor.

  12. i guess the big clue that it is three different bikes should hve been the fact they hav different designs, which is kinda cool, similar but different!

    ReplyDelete
  13. See the 3rd pix. And zoom in one the Autobot on the far left. Standing in front of the 3 bikers. Who is that?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think its Sideswipe

  15. I'm looking at the size difference between the girls (uni/motorcycles) and Ironhide and Prime...
I'm having dirty jokes in my head.
Ironhide's a bit big for Chromia, no?

  16. Where is the Best Place to buy these Online? i don;t have a comic shop around here. AND i don't want to get ripped off at some Online shops. But i really want these now! I had to wait for Reign of Starscream on amazon..

  17. Do you reckon the three bikes will have different weapons and such too then? from a still i saw taken from the trailer i showed arcee on 2 wheels using a gun, by the looks of it chromia is on one wheel with other behing the back and in the still it looked like the other one (who im guessin will be elita one) was on one wheel with the other on the arm as a shield maybe with a sword as a weapon? i dunno, im just guessin really, could have been half way through transforming and so looked like that, what dya reckon?

    ReplyDelete
  18. to the post above. Elita 1 died in ' Reign of Starscream' comic...

    ReplyDelete
  19. That's what I have said too, Counterpunch. Elita 1 won't be one of those sisters. Firestar and Moonracer are my theory. For you anynymous, that 2 wheels in 1 leg female Autobot is not pink, it's red. That comic shows same thing.

  20. We know that Jolt hasn't appeared in comics, but so haven't Jetfire. I hope that last issue of Defiance which comes out 29th April shows Jetfire's coming to Earth. By the way, that Smithsonian Museum will be his first appreance place in movie. Museum is the only place where he can hide with that alternate mode cause SR-71 Blackbird jets were removed from use 11 years ago.

  21. Bay does not use mass shifting, the ice cream truck is too small for Skids and Mudflap to come out of it. I believe it is just another autobot, that we don't know the name of yet. Still lots of secrets to reveal in this movie yet!

your right i been thinkin that too the ice cream truck is just about the same size as one of them

    ReplyDelete
  23. @ counterpunch
    That is Ironhide

    ReplyDelete
  24. -your right i been thinkin that too the ice cream truck is just about the same size as one of them-

Then again it could be Sideway`s Autobot mode :) Although i do think it is probably one or both of the twins as there deluxe forms do look as though they combine.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Essex - Ironhide is at the right side. You can just see his left arm with the big cannon. Sideswipe is behind Ironhide. Im talking about the silhoutte on the left of Prime. Right in front of the 3 one wheeled gals.

To anon - yeah I also dont think the ice cream are the twins. Think the twins & Jolt will be found by Bumblebee.

    ReplyDelete
  26. why isn't the ice cream truck the twins?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Essex - The twins will most prolly be with Jolt.. and be found by B'bee..

Coz you dont see the twins in the last page...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah, I'm having trouble believing the ice cream truck is the twins, in large part due to anon at 10:15's point about mass shifting. That, and we've seen the ice cream truck, Skids and Mudflap on location together at White Sands, Holloman, and Edwards Air Force Base. I think the ice cream truck would make a great Wreck-Gar, but I guess we'll all find out the truth in a few months.

    ReplyDelete
  29. heeeeyyy.... what if jolt's the ice cream truck,
that could the alt mode he first chose, because if the theory of bbee finding the twins andjolt is correct, then jolt while in hiding would want
to have a less discreet mode than a volt.

  30. to the post above. Elita 1 died in ' Reign of Starscream' comic...

the annoying thing is that i read that on wiki just after posting it lol!! and while i was just guessing about the one i refered to as elita one but isnt havin a sword and shield, i do kinda like the idea lol! and pic of three of them seems to show purple one with what looks like a blade on right arm! (again, this is just me guessin/hopin)

    ReplyDelete
  31. ooops in my last post at 2:44 p.m., i said "less discreet than than a volt" i meant to say more discret.

  32. I still believe that Chromia's sisters will be Firestar and Moonracer. It seems far more credible since they were a trio in G1. I really hope that the Ice Cream truck is not the twins, the mass shifting issue is really bothersome. I'm more optimistic to having the Ice Cream truck be Kup or even better Wreck-Gar. But the idea that it may be Jolt's previous mode is very convincing. That could result in way to advertise the Volt like GM did for the Camaro in 07 (another changing scene?).

  33. The ice cream truck HAS to be the twins. I saw a video on YouTube a couple months ago and it showed Transformers ROTF set footage. In the footage, the ice cream truck was split in half, with one of the halves rotating on something. So yeah, ice cream truck is more-than-likely the twins.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Here's proof of the split-in-half ice cream truck video...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oX16x-su6aA

    ReplyDelete
  35. Each half is too small to be skids and mudflap, not mass shifting, Period.

    ReplyDelete
  36. it`s is proff of the splitting, but it can be too a prop por certain angle shot of the transforming secuence of that robot, even too is you look closely at the end panel of the last alliance comic, where the bots are in the briefing room ready to leavy to shangay to hunt demolisher and co. in the back of ironhide is the robot form of the ice cream truck,u can tell by the radiator on the chest and the big headlighs and the purple color too.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hmm....well, maybe the ice cream truck is just ONE of the twins then (possibly Mudflap) and Skids just finds the crew a little later on in the film.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Counterpunch3/28/2009 3:36 PM

Ice cream truck should be a new unnamed character. Jolt & the twins will meet Bumbleebee someplace else...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Remember a couple months ago they said the ice cream truck was a combiner that split into and left a treat for a kid! Pretty sure u would think it would be the twins!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I have the comic and its cool! Ive read uptil I guess Defiance 3. I have the whole Alliance till 1-4. Those 3 robots are Arcee, Chromia and Elita One...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Counterpunch3/29/2009 1:23 PM

Dude, go read Reign of Starscream! Elita 1 is dead!

    ReplyDelete
  42. let me add my 2 cents...the ice cream truck in just a truck that was around the area when the autobots were chasing a deceticon,,,what happened was a kid was about to buy ice cream,,,sideways crash through the ice cream truck like what that decep. did to that bus in TF1...and the ice cream was launch all over the place....for the 3 bikes....and im lookin at the pics above....what training are they talking about...and it seems as tho the first pic is part of the scene in TF2 trailer when they are chasing sideways,,,,what does reconnect means?..are the three unicycle saying that they gonna combine after the training..? idk....that was my two cents

    ReplyDelete
  43. Replying to above:

The only problem is that the Ice cream truck has a autbot symbol on it! Unless that was placed in as a little nod to the fans like the hidden Hasbro name in the first film. I think that was in the final fight. (Listen to the commentary on the 2-disc DVD.

Reconnect meaning can be found here:

  44. Counterpunch3/29/2009 7:31 PM

Whatever. My vote is that the ice cream truck is Blaster...

    ReplyDelete
  45. thanks for that link scarpio...man i gotta register since i'll be on this site for more info on Tf2 & TF3

    ReplyDelete
  46. but i dont wanna take the literal definition for reconnect....if i gonna take it literally then i could say that the three bikes will "connect back together" (to form one) "bond" "attach" etc
or maybe reconnect with the team in terms of meeting up together after beating the poop out of sideways

    ReplyDelete
  47. Call sheets wrote '3 Arcee bikes' and if Arcee cannot be one of those sisters, that means that Arcee really is their combine form. Arcee cannot be one of those sisters, because if she would become one wheeled female like those three, it could be explained in those comics. Comics explained partly the Fallen's part on ancient Egyptian history, birth of NEST and how rest of the new Autobots (Sideswipe, unknown ice cream truck and those 3 Autobot sisters) arrived to Earth.

    ReplyDelete
  48. By the way, I think NEST's first mission in Shanghai might be few hints that ice cream truck really is combine mode of Skids and Mudflap. Hint 1: twins are confirmed to appear in China, hint 2: ice cream truck appears only in China. But rumor that Jetfire appears first in China is not true. I think that while Wheelie is trying to steal an Allspark fragment, Sam and Mikaela will catch him. Then Wheelie becomes an Autobot and in Smithsonian Air and Space Museum they'll use fragment to reactive Jetfire, a geriatric Decepticon who hated war, but now he wants to reach peace by joining the Autobots.

  49. What is Mass shifting?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Counterpunch3/30/2009 9:00 AM

imagine a handphone the size of your palm that suddenly transforms into a robot taller than yourself. that is mass shifting.

    ReplyDelete
  51. where can i by the prequel comic books

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh you mean non-scale transforming. Mass Shifting. Yeah, that is wack. Megs used to do it in G1 but we can't do it in the movies.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Counterpunch3/30/2009 4:55 PM

    bay doesnt want it. period.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think the bikes wil have to combined look at the third pic their size compared to OP and the figure in the shadows is awfully small I think they will combined to become Arcee

    ReplyDelete
  55. In trailer one of those bikes have looked like red, but I guess shadows just made it look like red. In comics it looks more pink and still Arcee is confirmed to appear as pink bike. My theory is that '3 Arcee bikes' in call sheets meaned previous plan to make Arcee as combination of three bikes, but now I know that she's only one of those three (just like Chromia). Those bikes won't combine.
