Weaving Confirms Return

While promoting his latest movie Last Ride in Australia, Hugo Weaving, according to AdelaideNow revealed that he has signed on to return as the voice of Megatron for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Thanks to gameon91 and Ty for the link.
``I’ve already done it,’’ Weaving says, adding Bay had told him to keep the news hush-hush. ``He’s over in LA and we were working on the video split sort of thing and I had this strange conversation where he seemed to imply it was all a big secret. So there you go. I’ve given you the secret scoop.’’

So how is Megatron resurrected?

`I think in the last one, doesn’t Optimus Prime pick up a little bit of, a little shard of the cube, or the thing that’s left, and he takes it with him. Maybe there’s something there… but I don’t know,’’ he laughs.

  1. On Bay's website he said that Megs WOULD be in the film but not in the present---HERE:

"Okay cat is out of the bag. Megatron is back ---- but you will only get to see him from the long lost past. We go way back in time as this movie explains the mythology of the Primes. He is not a tank like everyone suggests, but an alien vehicle. But sadly he does not has much screen time.

    Michael"

That sounds interesting with the whole Prime mythology but what about the scene in the teaser with Sam being pinned to the ground by a 'rusty' Decepticon hand/claw---Mr. Bay is not going to give his whole movie away :)

  2. Sorry Michael but you are completely wrong. If what you say is true how do you explain the new skinny arm he has??? Watch TF1 and you will see right before they dump him in the ocean he is missing his left arm. And not to mention he is holding down Sam in the trailer! What a dumb statement.

  3. That guy who posted #2 is quoting Michael Bay's website. How are you telling a guy he is wrong if it's not his quote OR why are you saying Mike Bay is wrong when he is the director--who knows the truth about his own movie??

    Sincerely,

  4. because he thinks like many people, Bay is once again spreading misinformation like he said he would.

there is too much info out that doesn't support this.

Were you taught the meaning of sarcasm??

The more Bay deflects the questions the more hype. I could care less about what Bay's motives are but he knows what is juicy info that will get all of us talking.

Seriously---Noone who has ever walked outside of their own house without having a parent hold their hand could figure out that MEGS is the TF holding Sam down.

  6. sarcasm requires inflection, and is generally lost in message boards.

so in the Confused in California post, it looks like a bad attempt at humor/nerd battle rather than sarcasm.

you have to keep in mind you are not reading your posts to others, nor does anyone know you to be able to have some sort of reference.

  7. This is so pathetic. Everyone here is letting some mis-information get them all stirred up. It looks as if Michael Bay is doing his job then.

All of us will be there opening day/night/week to see this block-buster. I can't & won't speak for anyone here but I am sure that we can all agree that Megatron is indeed the one holding Sam down.

    Sincerely,
'NOT Confused in Miami' <---I had to!!!

  8. Exactly. That is bullshit that he will only be seen in the past. Bay is hiding something about the plot. I thinks Megatron will play a huge roll in this movie. Like someone said before there is too much info to support what Bay is saying. 1 Megs arm. 2 His new legs. 3 The most obvious HE IS IN THE F@#*ING TRAILER!!!!!!!

  9. Dear Mr Bay,

  10. Well, I do like how this would add some continuity to the films, I still would've preferred Frank Welker to voice him. As long as people realize that it is Megatron returing, that 's fine by me.

And as long as Frank Welker voices Soundwave, and hopefully a few more characters. ;)

  11. Meh...oh well. I was kinda hoping that David Kaye or maybe Frank Welker with some heavy digitizing and altering of his voice to fit the character. I never liked movie Megatron's design and there was nothing about it that reminded me of G1 Megatron. Granted his new claw/cannon arm is a step in the right direction but they could have done something with his face/head just to remind you a little that it was indeed Megatron. But whatever. I just hope Bay will at least have Welker voice Soundwave.

  12. Screwed Welker again. Give Welker soundwave right fucking now Bay!

  14. Will Megatron return as a plane, or as a Cybertonian Tank? Since Michael Bay is giving false info. on the film, M'tron could return as a plane or a tank.
