Burger King Announces Transformers Promotion Details

Burger King did a promotional tie-in with the first Transformers movie and in February the company indicated it was joining up a second time for Revenge of the Fallen. Sadly at the time details were lacking. Now, via a press release (via TFW2005), BK has made the partnership official and provided a little more information about the promotion that will include toys, a new burger and contests. The full press release is here but the Transformers segment is below.
Beginning today with Star Trek (release May 8) and continuing with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (June 24) and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (Aug. 7), this partnership marks an evolution of an ongoing alliance between Burger King Corp. and Paramount Pictures that takes movie marketing to new levels.

TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN

- Transform Your Way(TM): Starting June 22, fans can look forward to the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen promotion, which will give guests the chance to take home a range of prizes, from $1 million cash** to a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro to movie passes and instant-win food items like the CROISSAN'WICH(R) and WHOPPER(R) sandwich. As part of the Transform Your Way(TM) scratch-and-win game, game pieces will be available on specially marked menu items. BURGER KING(R) will also give guests a second chance to win at bktransformers.com, where consumers can navigate interactive online applications to enter daily for a chance to win $10,000.

- New BK BBQ DOUBLE STACKTICON(TM) sandwich: The BURGER KING(R) menu will undergo a transformation with this new sandwich. Available for a limited time only for a suggested retail price starting at $2.79 the Transformers-inspired burger allows guests to stack multiple burger patties, bacon, sauce and cheese similar in theme to the "combining" of Transformers characters in the upcoming film.

- Advertising by film director Michael Bay: Blockbuster director, Michael Bay, directed the national kid's television advertising spots that will turn the BURGER KING(R) dining experience on its head. In addition, each BK(R) Kids Meal will come with one of eight Transformers toys that bring the beloved characters and vehicles from the movie to life.*

Personally ive watched the action and transformation scenes atleast 400 times, the other stuff is kind of shit. But its still like my top 2 favourite movies for shear intertainment along with the 300. I have seen alot of movies by the way.

  21. I hope this hasn't been posted yet... I seem to always get the loose end in this.

Empire magazine put up a bunch of pictures from the new movie plus commentary on different scenes in the trailer. It really gives you more of an insight into things.

    This picture...
    http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_G96gxvrHqrE/Sf0sIWbgObI/AAAAAAAAF-s/q9UDXn72DiY/s1600-h/TF2SoundwaveShot.JPG

The author of the blog said it was Soundwave but it looks like that Frenzy Look-A-Like from the old on-set videos, the one on top of the car?

It kind of looks like it's on top of something clear...

Could it really be that minicon? I can see the bird-like features to it as well.

Sorry for being off-topic on this post but thought I'd bring it to your attention.

  27. OOOOPS!!!!!!! 4got to say the showest after party

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yea while watching the first movie, the last time I watched the Blackout part, the Scorpinok part, the Bumblebee vs. Barricade part etc. I skipped all human scenes except the part at the house where the Autobots sneak into the yard while Sam tries to cover for them.

Well, this is worse than the transforming candy box I'd have to say, but not bad. Stackterion ROFL at that ! Each chicken tender could be the vague shape of each Constructicon and they can be jigsaw puzzle style put together to form Devastator lol.

  31. yeah that site confirms what we already knew - that skids and mudflap combine. also says that the hieroglyphics in the pyramids are actually pictures of Transformers, which is pretty cool.

    ReplyDelete
  32. "The movie actually opens before the pyramids were built. We tie the Transformers into the beginnings of civilisation."

    awesome!

  36. the first movie is actually very boring except for the few scenes dealing the transformers.

think Bay said the problem was budget. and on his budget he couldn't use robots as much as was wanted.

    ReplyDelete
  37. ^^ya i agree^^ this film's udget is huge compared to the first tfs. this time around theres apparently a quarter of the movie is just talking and crap like that but the rest is action hell ya!!! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  38. this is off topic butt my backround is me at the NY autoshow under BB

    ReplyDelete
  39. "think Bay said the problem was budget. and on his budget he couldn't use robots as much as was wanted."

That and many of the studio execs wanted a robot invasion movie where the Transformers didn't even talk, much less have individual personalities. Thankfully, Hasbro, Bay and the writers/producers managed to convince them otherwise (partially).

Also, if Bay really wanted to cut costs, he could have simplified the designs just a touch, and not be all OMG 10000 MOVING PARTS

    ReplyDelete
  40. what background are you talking about Bonecrusher?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Israeli Sniper5/05/2009 12:02 AM

Bonecrusher Rolling been talking a hell lots of BS.

  42. I dunno about you ladies, but that Stackticon sounds Decepti-licious. XD

  43. Mcat said "yeah that site confirms what we already knew - that skids and mudflap combine. also says that the hieroglyphics in the pyramids are actually pictures of Transformers, which is pretty cool.".

Though I've yet to see any hieroglyphics that look remotely similar to a TF...

    Mini review:

The burger king promotion is lame. The only toy i would remotely want to see in a small version is Devastator. Ravages altmode is a neat idea but obviously just a quick add on. The covers are cool especially the game covers however i would have wanted to see a wider range of images other than just OP and The Fallen :)

  45. Replying to Paul Des (And everyone else)

Here are the Hieroglyphics showing the TF`s in ancient times. For some insane reason there are Helicopters even though none of the TF`s had any other form other than there Protoform until they visited Earth or scanned something on there planet. Does this suggest evidence of Time travel so they could scan the Helicopter in the future and return to Egypt to fight. Well here s the Picture:

    Till all are one :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. how would you know the TF dont have helicopters on Cybertron? go read the Defiance issued TF Prequel to the 2nd movie & you will learn that they already have Transformers who turns into jets in search of new suns to harvest the Allspark.

Surely if they have Seekers in jet mode they can also have it in helicopter mode.

nice :) thought they made it up, though i think it wasn't really intended to look like that :)

    or was it...
