Edmunds Ducati Article Confirms Arcee Combiner?

Edmunds has a brief article that discusses the use of Ducati motorcycles in Terminator Salvation and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Specifically, they are a new source, outside of the novelizations, to confirm that the Arcee bikes do have a combiner mode.
The Hypermotard ("super biker") will fight for good in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen when that film opens on June 24. The Ducati will join with two other motorcycles to create Arcee, a female Autobot to stop the Decepticons as they return to Earth.
RetroSBK actually created the three Arcee bikes (well probably more since have stunt, hero, and backup bikes for each character) but looking at their website Ducati motorcycles seemed to be used as their base for their customizations. Thanks to Jon for the link.

  2. I'm a bit of a motorcycle enthusiest and a transformers fan too so i gotr really excited when i found out there were going to be bikes in the up coming movie. i've done a lot of research on this and based on photos i've seen and the toy i can say with confidance that Chromia will have the alt mode of a custom suzuki B-King. if you dont know anything about bikes i'll just say this thing is a BEAST. as for the last bike i'm not sure. initially i thought it was going to be a ducati 1098 but now they are saying one of the bikes is a hypermotard and its unlikely they would have two ducatis. from the looks of things i'd say its yamaha R1 or could even be a buell (i hope not). anyway whatever it is i'm stoked to see some bikes turn into a big ass robot!

  4. Last year some time there was a spy shot from the set that showed a matt black Can-Am Spyder strapped to a GMC Topkick (Ironhide). You could just make out a B-King pipe in the corner of the shot. Bay loves his americana, so stands to reason he'd get a U.S. brand in there, plus the Spyder would give some bulk to Arcee... Haven't found anything else to confirm this though...

  5. Remembered it slightly wrong - the B-King was strapped to the back of Ironhide, the Spyder was parked in front! Google 'Transformers Can-Am' if you haven't seen it before..

  6. @Anon 5:01, I dought you will get confirmation on those Can Am's. Based on the matt black my guess is camera or utility rigs. We know the camera rigs are matt black so as not reflect in the shot. They will not appear in the film.

  7. No, sorry guys... totally wrong on all counts, including the comments from Edmunds.. I can assure you that the Hypermotard was never used, in any capacity in ROTF

  8. I can assure you that the HyperMotard was used in this film. I have seen the bikes in person and can assure you that it was. They are hot pink and are at the Southern California Ducati dealership right now. I was in there 3 weeks ago and was talking to TJ the service manager who rebuilds the bikes for them when they destroy them.
