Bay: No To Killing Fox

Michael Bay tells USA Today that Megan Fox's Michaela Barnes character will not be killed in Transformers 3 despite some of her more inflaming comments such as calling Bay "Hitler" like.
But it turns out, Bay couldn’t care less. Really. “I love her,” the man responsible for the blockbuster franchise told USA TODAY's Andrea Mandell. “It’s just, she’s young. Everyone’s got to give her a break, she only…23? It’s just hard. I’ve traveled around the world with her and she’s just like this world symbol now, you know?”

So he brushes her diatribes under the carpet? “Absolutely,” he said. “She called me (after the Hitler comment) and goes, ‘It’s all bullsh—t, Mike.’ The press, they just like to prey, and stalk, and pounce and find a good little juicy thing. But she’s always wanted to do these crazy comments. That’s just her. She’s great.”

He also said, “She’s got a great part in Transformers 3,” and he said he’s currently working on the script. So Bay’s not planning on getting revenge by, say, killing her off? “No, no. no,” he said, dismissing it. “She gets enough of that already.”
I cannot say I am really surprised. Michael Bay has shown to be a fantastic business man and for him Megan Fox is simply helpful in making money. Taking her statements personally is pointless and just useless noise. Having said that, I am betting if the story makes her or any other character's death necessary, he will not hesitate to pull the trigger despite the above statements. With the script in very early stages of development, I doubt much is written in stone. Thanks to Carlo for the heads-up.

  1. Dang, her character's death would have made some improvement on the franchise.

  2. ^right!

I never thought the killing her off rumor was a reaction to her being disrespectful to Bay and the film(s). I thought the rumor was started cuz people are just plain sick of her.

  4. "Megatron is not in this movie" - Michael Bay, remeber this quote?. That being said, I put no stock in this or any rumor at this point in time. There is likely an outline or rough treatment for T3 so they(Bay & Kruger) will have decided the major plot points by now though he obviously wouldn't say if he was going to kill off any major character.

  5. I just hope he's not working TOO much on the TF3 script... he had the TF2 script all to himself during the writers' strike, & look what we got...

  7. @burnsideo7: it's not Bay fault for whatever could be said to be wrong with Transformers2 script. Orci&Kurtzman are way too much overrated, their Star Trek movie was just a good TNG tv series like episode with a huge budget and their Fringe tv series is just disgusting, a silly joke.
Anyway Transformers2 is far from a bad movie despite issues and glitches mainly caused by what is missing compared to the official novel. And even the novel itself was cut already.
The main issue of Transformers2 is that it's an unfinished business, Michael Bay and his crew didn't have time to complete it properly. The first Transformers movie was refined a lot more because they didn't have production issues like on Transformers2, no writers strike, no actors/actresses injuries.
Let's hope everything goes smoothly and well with Transformers3 and there won't be any issues affecting production stages so that the movie will be refined properly, longer maybe 180minutes and with all the tiny bits and pieces that the first movie had and the second one either doesn't or the scenes were shortened too much.

  8. I agree with Anon above me. I really really really hope Bay and his team give themselves enough time to get it completed the way they want it. That's the only reason why I would rather have a 2012 release instead of 2011, even though it would be harder to wait an extra year.

Yep you're totally right, that's why Bay wanted a year off, so he can have think clearly about things for TF3. BTW didn't it take 3 years to make TF1?
I thought I saw the first trailer a year before the actual movie.

  10. “Meg” would make one hell of a movie. It could be a giant blockbuster if done correctly. Curious if anyone’s has checked out the new book “Hell’s Aquarium” by Steve Alten? I know he’s been a best selling author before, but wanted to see if anyone had read this book first? It’s about the ancient prehistoric shark Megalodon, which makes the current Great White Shark look like a gold fish. Check out the trailer below, pretty awesome:

  12. the only reason im gonna watch transformers 3 is to laugh about how retarted it is without megan fox. now i know at certain times she's not the best actress, but without her there's know saying how michael bay is gonna pull something out of his ass to make transformers 3 to be even close to descent.

  14. this is to the first person who wrote a comment, wtf man, the only improvement that would be made if megan fox was killed off is the rate of people that DON'T buy it would go up higher then heaven you fucking moran!! at least 5.2 million of the people that watch the new transformers movies is because megan fox is so hot and she keeps the entertainment up, sometimes she might not seem like she's into her part in the movie but whatever, if megan fox was killed off then it wouldn't make shit for sence. so fuck off man!
