TF3 Chicago: New Transformers Revealed, Explosion, and More

Sunday comes to a close in Chicago as Transformers 3 production continues. The day brought more excitement as pyrotechnic scenes were filmed and an Einstein like Transformers head was photographed. Tyrese Gibson also joined in with some set photos of his own he posted via his twitter account.

The pictures from The Scorecard Review show the heads of Bumblebee and a mysterious new "gray-haired" Transformer with glasses being held up in the air. The heads are to help the actors with line of sight. I don't know what the alt mode is of this new Transformer but I get a sneaking suspicion this might be Kup (now rejected). The pictures also show Bay doing his directing thing and more from the set. Hit link above for rest. Thanks to CypherXR for the link.

As for Tyrese's pictures, they show the gang getting cover from a quick rain storm, the set, Josh, and him and Shia with a child's picture that shows Bumblebee that says "Unite". Thanks to Schellenbach for the heads up. Last bit, click here for more photos from ENI.

Also below are five videos. The first is a sky high view of a scene being filmed that involves explosions (TF weapons fire?), extras running while Shia and Rosie hide in a car. The next video is crowd reaction to those explosions. The third has Battle Damaged Shia LaBeouf taking a moment to sign autographs and take photos with the crowd. The fourth video shows that it seems the action involves more than just the bridge as a damaged boat is spotted and last, more stuff from the feeds. Thanks to Mauricio for the first four video links and Shockwaved for the last one.

  1. Kup hmm..

Also I'd really like to know why the person that took the photos of bumblebee and that other head photo shopped the rails into all the pictures? wtf is up with that?

  3. I thought the pictures on poles are placeholders. Bumblebee is a well established figure. The Albert Einstien bot may very well be one of those placeholders. Going out on a limb I can connect him to the Benz bot, both are blue. It can be Perceptor, Mirage, Wheeljack, or any science autobot. The art dept. may have a bunch of historical figures like that rendered as cybertronians.

  10. Albert Einstein Transformers robot? Michael Bay surely knows that this is going to be his last Transformers movie.. he destroyed characters and plot already and now he is going to deliver a silly Muppets like Transformer?
Really, if Michael Bay didn't want to direct the third movie then he should have quit before and let Spielberg direct the movie properly.. but no, he really wants to kill the franchise so that Hasbro will be forced to reboot everything.
It's just disgusting. Millions of people all over the world loved the first two movies and now he is killing everything that people loved.

  12. SUUURELY they wouldn't flaunt around robot art in such a public environment whilst filming... fingers crossed they're just trying to throw fans off the scent, & that the mask is just a scale reference for another robot's head.

  13. Ouh they can't be serious... wasn't it transformers like these, that ruined the second part!??? .. please let it be a placeholder!

  14. HammerZ

I agree with you. when I first saw the picture the first thing I thought of was placeholder. I highly doubt Michael Bay is going to flaunt a new robots picture in public like this.

  15. oh jesus, grey haired robot... Fuck you michaelbay :/

  16. Im hoping its a joke placeholder that is supposed to look like Speilburg and not Einstein.

  17. It's clearly not just a place holder. The notion that Bay would never "flaunt a new robots picture in public" sounds pretty silly when Bay is basically showing off the last 30 minutes of the film in view of thousands of people with cameras.

i can tell half of you guys bashin the movie allready are haters we dont know ANYTHING about the damn movie and you idiots are still hateing. you know for some reason i like the einstein bot i mean it realy dosent bother me at all like some of you guys. its wierd how i dont hate any new design i just love it.

  19. Sure it may be more to it. I still lean toward Mirage, maybe he mimics famous figures. Maybe we will see Elvis, Nixon, Bruce Lee, or any one else you can think of. At this point in production we don't know anything enough to get upset about.

  20. you dont hate any new designs because you are what is known as a retard, you will love anything they make, optimus, ratchet and jazz are well designed, this fucking einstien is a fucking bad joke just shut the fuck up and stop defending dumb robots and michael bay might actually bother to make it good

  21. I'd rather be prepared for the worst instead of getting bitterly disappointed in the end. To me the different transformer characters is the most interesting and fun aspects with these movies. That's the main reason I was very disappointed with ROTF. The robot characters were crap. And from the look of things, it isn't gonna be much better this time. I really hope you optimists are right, and that in the end product the appearance of this silly-looking robot character will be altered for the better. But I won't put my money on it.
