Transformers: DOTM Reviews Video

MichaelBay.com has posted a video that acts as a kind of "best of" the various reviews that have been posted about Transformers: Dark of the Moon. My selection of reviews (part 1 & part 2) tends to be more up the middle (aka about 5/10) but in most cases all complimented the special effects and the 3D. Thanks to Feris Othman for the heads-up.

  2. I thought the movie was at least a 3.5 (out of 5). Minor things kind of set me back from the movie, such as the Egor character (I think he was completely unnecessary to the plot), and Laserbeak talking. Laserbeak seems to kind of be universal, transforming into practically anything. He had little interaction with Soundwave, but kind of made up for it in creepiness.
The movie didn't progress as slow as some people said it would. I actually enjoyed it. I saw so many G1 references, as well as some toy references.
Another setback of mine is the death toll, particularly the Decepticons. They basically killed of the best Decepticons. At least Megatron and Soundwave had the dignity of dying from Autobots. Can't say the same for Shockwave and Starscream.
On the Autobot side, they only killed two, thankfully not more. At least they gave Ironhide a fight before he died. Que was probably going to be killed from the beginning. Kind of regrettable, really.
I thought it was like War of the Worlds meets Battle LA meets Transformers (Just a lot more epic than the first two, as a comparison). People get vaporized, assassinated, or just plain killed. The human death toll has really been kicked up a notch. Definitely a good summer movie and I would definitely recomend watching this movie. I give it 4/5.
