Transformers 4 China Set Update, New Vehicles Spotted

Transformers 4 production has moved to Detroit, Michigan with videos and images of cars being spotted on set or on their way to the set. In addition, thanks to Jerry B. we have an update on the China set being built in the city which does appear to have battle damage elements built into it (left pic and below right). He also took pictures of camera equipment prep being done with filming vehicles on Cass and LaFayette streets (1st 3 pics below). He said these were the same vehicles they used in TF3 for filming so unlikely they are Transformer alt modes.

Speaking of TF alt modes, YouTuber Mendelhall512 posted the below video of Paramount Pictures crew hauling off his vehicles, writing "Paramount rented my 1969 GTO & 1965 GTO to be used in the new Transformers 4 film code named E74. Look out for the cars next summer when the movie comes out as they will be Mark Wahlberg's very own Goats in the story line." Since it seems that Wahlberg is playing a mechanic, it seems a Hollywood character rule is all mechanics prefer to work on old muscle machines so it fits the character. Its also possible these are alt modes but nothing yet to indicate that.

A Paramount truck was also busy hauling other cars. Instagram's iamjwest posted an image of one carrying what appears to be a concept Cadillac Cien, concept Buick Velite, white Ferrari, and blue Aston Martin while kingmyreee took a video of it. Thanks to Sam N. for the link. Again no indication if TF alt modes but concept cars usually tend to be. The idea of the Stunticons being in the film is starting to not seem so far fetched. Kingmyree's note mentioned Tyrese being on set but considering the entire human cast of the previous movies have been jettisoned, I am not going to believe it until see a set picture backing it up.

WOW!!! That is indeed a Cadillac Cien!!! I checked images on google. Bay also use a Cadillac Cien in The Island. It's an awesome car! That has to be a Transformer! Maybe we do get the Stunticons. Maybe the Stunticons are made by the evil humans with help of the Decepticons.

That camera rigged truck with the chairs on the side and with the white and blue car on it, is that a Mustang? Will that be just a car, or an important one?

  7. I have to make a correction. Theblack pursuit vehicle, white and blue car with the rigging attached are both for Need For Speed. I just found out last night that they are also shooting in Detroit. I actually went down to watch some taping today and actually might have made it in the background of one shot.

    1. they were confused we thought at first it was transformers then for need for speed but I have been told by someone who was on set that these were for transformers and were no where near the need for speed set.
