More Images of Transformers 4 Optimus Prime Toy

The source of the previous image leak has posted more images on ACToys that show off the new voyager (or maybe leader) class version of Transformers: Age of Extinction Optimus Prime. The images include some nice close-ups of the robot mode so can get a better look at the face and chest area. The toy itself look "meh" but the detail potential for its CGI counterpart is interesting. Keep in mind that Hasbro is attempting to simplify transformation sequences starting with the TF4 line to make the toys more all ages which partially explains some of its clunkiness. 2. Laaaaaame !
The upper body looks bulky. Like a big cube with members attached...
I hope it's a Voyager Class, not Leader Class. It then would be a step backwards in designing those toys.
I've heard HASBRO didn't want to have more than 15 steps in the transformation to allow a wider range of kids to be able to play with them...

  3. Why are we getting more info of Optimus toys instead of others. I want to see other robot characters too.

  4. These toys are for children. Can you not see how much more difficult they are than the Transformers that were out in the 80's? It stands to reason that they would simplify the transformation process and that there would be more kibble, However, if they are going to make them less of an enviable object for adults, they need to drop the price.

  5. looks like shit period and looks like no chrome anywhere as well...they are really dropping the ball on this TF4 stuff..looks they like are making everything cheaper or "simplified" as they are calling it...almost looks like a cheap as mcds toy that comes with happy meals only a bigger version that barely transforms..isnt that what the rescue bots are for???

  6. Lools like shit, way to bulky...but i get it, they are making it more simple for kids, they were to complicated for them to transform...fun for the adults but not the kids.

  8. The toy looks like crap. Luckily the toy figures are nowhere near as good as the cgi models. Looks like this is probably a voyager. The leader figures usually have more detail unless they have dumbed them down that much.

  9. And they wonder why they are loosing so much business to third party bot makers. This Optimus is crap, and that makes me so sad.

  10. I'm hoping they release a non "simplified" version of the figures.

  11. The only thing that makes this look horrible is the vehicle mode and joint articulation. I hope that the DinoBots don't have any flaws like this.

  12. The leader figures will probably look better. Imo the figures from tf1 looked like crap maybe with having new molds it's going to take a couple of movies to get them more fluent. Sounds like a long shot but...maybe.

  13. I actually like it and to me, it seems to be a return (somewhat designwise, kibble notwithstanding) to the Transformers' Asian roots. Also looking forward to what kit bashes like the AMAZING Frenzy Rumble and the 3rd party companies can do with this. Also looking fwd to the CGI counterparts of ALL the 'Bots and 'Cons.

  14. @Anonymous1/15/2014 1:02 PM: Exactly! These Hasbro managers want to rip people off releasing very low quality toys/replicas. The Transformers models of the '80s were made of quality components and plastics, very well designed and robust, full of tiny details.
Turning nowadays Transformers toys into cheap crap telling that otherwise poor kids couldn't play with "complex mechanisms" it's really silly.
So kids in the '80s that are adults now were all some sort of geniuses? If nowadays kids can't figure out how to transform an '80s Transformers model then something is really wrong with how many of those kids from the '80s educated their kids too..

  15. its a shame ive been buying all TF stuff since the 80s and i will no longer buy this BS stuff that looks like it comes from a happy meal or some cheap knock off POS from mexico..hasbro and MB are cutting every corner they can to make a lil more money now we will have to wait for kit bashes or something to get a nice figure..i wouldnt pay 5 bucks for that crap id rather buy more rescue bots or pay to see a rescue bot movie as to this POS..and they arent gonna change even if everyone wrote hasbro they would make things a lil better for TF5 saying they had to cut funds or some BS for TF4 thats why they looked like crap..hasbro/MB will no longer get my $$$

  17. I don't think anyone is questioning if they will see the movie. However, there is reason to complain about how the toys look

  19. Tfcollect: my father myself and my son are tf collectors, we have hundreds of them. Sadly enough it seems that hasbro really have no idea or care to think about true collectors of their product. This simpler approach is an eyesore. We've seen this first hand with DOTM line and with that they were smaller. I see this line being no different or even better than that. Through our reseach the larger majority who buy transformers are from ages 25-40yrs old. Its something hasbro needs to look into and maybe they could come up with a line that pleases all ages. This line seems to be geared more towards the children, who by the way aren't old enough to buy them themselves and are most likely children who's parents are either collectors themselves. And know for certain if I don't think they're dollar worthy my son won't either. This Optimus Prime is a poor excuse for an action figure that is so enormously iconic. Even moreso an eyesore. I gave hasbro a pass with the DOTM line. But not this time becuse so far they given me ever reason to pass on this line.
