MPEA Busway Set Pics, Explosions and More

On Wednesday, it seems that Transformers 3 production spent its day at the MPEA Busway under Millennium Park. The sequence involved explosions, smoke and flame effects and what appears to be a completed destroyed section of the highway, matching the devastated look that has been the hallmark of many of the Chicago sets. Pixel Rally was at the site and provided a gallery of images both during the day and night of the set and a good look at the Optimus Prime truck and trailer. Below are a few sample images, the rest of the set can be found here.

As for the videos, below are videos from various locations around Chicago, not even sure where but assume the Wacker Drive area. The first three videos may be from the Busway but not clear. Based on the Transformers cars filmed including Optimus with his trailer, this seems to be a continuation of the Nascar vs. Autobots chase scene that marked the first week of filming. Of special note is the third video that shows that the Twins do make it to Chicago. After that we have two more videos that show the rooftop pyrotechnics that were set off on Tuesday night. The last video involves a massive explosion at a third location and the sound of gun fire. If don't feel like scrolling down, the Movie Chronicles have them all.

TF3 Chicago: More Explosions and Pictures

I had already posted pictures and videos from Transformers 3 filming on Sunday around the Michigan Avenue Bridge in Chicago but here is even more. The fireball to the left was posted by the Chicago Tribune as part of their coverage. They also posted the second video at the bottom that shows off filming. In the article, some of the action that was filmed was described including more base jumping.
Earlier in the day, onlookers got a glimpse of a different kind of stunt — the kind that involves people jumping off of the 92-story Trump Tower. The five base jumpers taking part in the scene soared over the Michigan Avenue Bridge and onto North Wacker Drive, making what most would find terrifying look easy. Cameras shot the jumpers from the top of nearby buildings, including the Tribune building.

Later on in the afternoon, military-looking men, one of whom appeared to be cast member Tyrese Gibson, were filmed sprinting into the Tribune with guns in hand yelling “Let’s go!” and “C’mon!”

LaBeouf filmed the same scene he shot on Friday — he holds Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s hand and runs for cover behind a flipped over vehicle — only this time a few of the piled up cars in front of the bridge were on fire. The co-stars also filmed on the stairs that lead to the riverwalk from the side of the bridge.
Thanks to Colin Hinkle we once again have more great pictures and a video from the set. The images show Shia, Josh, Rosie, Tyrese, Bay and more doing their movie thing. We got shots of the Nascar vehicles and other Transformers. The 1st video below from Colin is a combination of the footage he caught of the cast and crew at work. It’s worth watching to the end to watch the pyrotechnics going off with cars being jerked down the street. Overall, a nice day of boom if you were in the Chicago area. Amazingly enough despite all the carnage when you check @ktgeek's live stream, the entire mess has already been cleared away.

Video Confirms Sideswipe Convertible Alt Mode

Based on the video below from nando323, it seems the image of a Chevy Corvette Centennial Convertible is the new alt mode for Sideswipe in Transformers 3. The brief video was filmed in downtown Los Angeles at 4th Street and Main and shows a red Ferrari 458 Italia, Bumblebee Camaro and the grey Stingray convertible driving away without its top. Thanks to Mike G for the link.

Sideswipe Goes Convertible?

A few months ago Bumblebee was rumored to have become a convertible due to a change in design for the Chevy Camaro and now its Sideswipe's turn. In Revenge of the Fallen, Sideswipe's alt mode was the Corvette Stingray Concept car. Corvette Blogger was posted an image of a convertible version of the concept car spotted near a Transformers 3 set that suggests that Sideswipe might get an upgrade. Since the vehicle has yet to be released by Chevy, I am sure they wouldn't mind the current model making an appearance in the movie. It way too early to say this is an accurate assumption as we don't even know if the character is in the movie. This is a very sleek looking ride so it might be a welcome alteration to the character. Thanks to Christopher for the link.

Real "Sideswipe" Stingray Concept Preview

Jalopnik has posted a preview report with images and video of the Stingray Corvette Concept car that was the alt mode for Sideswipe in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Overall the look of the car is a gorgeous car both ouside and inside that is sadly probably priced way outside my ability to afford. Click here to read the article and view the gallery. Below are videos of the interior and exterior of the car.

Human Alliance Sideswipe Video Review

From Peaugh, here is the video review of Human Alliance Sideswipe with Sergeant Epps. Also links to both his updates, one to show off the "battle mask" feature and the other the spinning blades feature. Overall, the figure is essentially a larger version of the Deluxe class toy with many similar features and transformation but with a lot more kibble in back to deal with. If you liked the Deluxe version, you will probably like this one. If you had not yet bought Deluxe Sideswipe wait and get this one instead.

Human Alliance Sideswipe Images

The other day we got a look at the re-designed Human Alliance Bumblebee and now below from TFormers is the first look at Human Alliance Sideswipe with Sergeant Epps toy. Out of all the Revenge of the Fallen toys so far, Deluxe Sideswipe has been the one I have liked the most and this one looks like a bigger, better version so this might be a buy for me (but will wait for the video review to verify). No clue when this toy will be released.

Arcee and Sideswipe Voice Actors

Chris (who has provided TF news in the past) is reporting that he has learned that Susan Blu is the voice of Arcee and Jason Griffith is the voice of Sideswipe in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Oddly enough, despite all the premieres, the voice actors is something no one is catching so don't have direct proof. However, both are experienced voice actors with a long list of credits.

Susan Blu has multiple Transformers ties. The primary for Transfans is the voice of Arcee in the animated Transformers: The Movie and the third season of the TV series and also did a voice in Beast Wars, and reprised Arcee for Transformers: Animated. She was also voice director of Beast Wars and TF: Animated. Jason Griffith is most notable for his role as Sonic for the cartoons and video games and this would be his first work for anything Transformers related.

Human Alliance Sideswipe in Packaging

The Arker has posted a gallery of pictures of Human Alliance Sideswipe with Tech Sergeant Epps in packaging with bio. This version looks kind of like a bloated version of Deluxe Sideways as modifications were made to accommodate the Epps action figure. Also the packaging does confirm Human Alliance Skids with Mikaela set. Below is the bio and a few pics. The full gallery can be found here. I have no idea why the blurring effect was added to some of the images. Thanks to dinoraw, Elis, and Chris for the info.

Human Alliance Sideswipe and Epps
When Sideswipe arrive on Earth, he was a raw, untrained fighter, used to battling alone and outnumbered. He was teamed with Epps so the Tech Sergeant could whip him into shape as an effective member of the strike team led by Ironhide. The two have become good friends. In combat, Epps' combat-hardened instincts direct the speed and cunning of Sideswipe with devastating effectiveness.

New Human Alliance Toy

If I remember correctly, three Human Alliance toys are planned for the Transformers 2 toy line. The first is Bumblebee with Sam Witwicky. The second one is now revealed to be Sideswipe with Master Sergeant Epps as the picture provided by Phil shows. I assume it will be a wave 2 toy so probably will not be out until August. Exact date of wave 1's release remains unknown but I assume if it’s not tomorrow then it will be the end of the month.

Mixmaster Robot Mode and Other Toy Pics

Another day, more galleries of toys from the Transformers 2 toy line.

First up is Voyager Mixmaster from TF08.net. We have seen pleny of pictures of the cement truck mode and a tease of the robot mode. Below are some of the pictures of the robot mode that gives you an idea of the toy with the full gallery here. This toy has so much kibble that I seriousily doubt this robot mode ever makes an appearance in the movie. Thanks to Sam for the link.

In addition to Mixmaster, TFormers has posted the below pictures of all the currently leaked Constructicon toys (Mixmaster, Long Haul, Demolisher, and Rampage) as they surround Prime. Thanks to Gregory for the link.

Finally some repaints and a new FAB. Click here to view the gallery of Fast Action Battler Sideswipe in both modes. Click here to get a look at the re-release of Deluxe Barricade compared to the first movie version. Last is a gallery of Deluxe Smokescreen, sadly a simple repaint of Jazz from the first movie. That gallery is here and the link is from Scorpio.

Transformers 2 CGI Art Work (Update 2)

It took a while but finally some new CGI artwork of the some of the characters for Transformers 2 has appeared online. Some of the CGI in the gallery is old but much is brand new. Thanks to Ken and David for the link.

Update: Added the image in the left created by D-M0de (thanks!) for those that like the idea of the Twins running for their lives. Good for wallpaper or imagining such a scene in the movie.

Update 2: D-M0de provided the below two pictures to replace the previous Twins chase image. Uses the below CGI images along with Photoshop magic to tell a better story.
