Transformers: Earth Wars Mobile Game Announced
Hasbro with Backflip Studios and Space Ape Games have announced a new "free" mobile game that is designed to be a real-time combat strategy game (like Clash of Clans) that is designed to inspire you to made in game purchases to level up. Transformers: Devastation Playable Characters Video and Blitzwing Profile
Here is a new video for Transformers: Devastation that provides another look at Optimus Prime, Wheeljack, Sideswipe, Bumblebee, and Grimlock. Despite some of the recent bad guy profiles (including this Blitzwing one), it seems these are the core playable characters in the game. Any "new" characters are really just skins using this core (such as the pre-order DLC). So far no additional info has been announced about what, if any, DLCs are planned for the game to expand it or add other new characters or skins. Transformers: Devastation will be hitting stores on October 6 or available for pre-order now.Thursday, September 10, 2015

Some new information about Transformers: Devastation that is set to hit stores on October 6. To start, there is a preorder DLC for those that preorder the game. Here is the bio and next trailer for Wheeljack on Transformers: Devastation video game that is coming out this October. Wheeljack is a playable character in the game with his own unique special abilities. G1 Based Transformers: Devastation Coming to Consoles (Updated)
Pure XBox has posted multiple screenshots for Transformers: Devastation, a new video game from Activision. Currently the only thing that is known is from the screenshots which shows that the game focus on the Generation One version of Transformers with the classic look of Devastator, Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee. Even more interesting is the cel-shaded graphical style looks like it was lifted directly from Transformers: The Movie with all the shiny gleam on the everyone. Hasbro doesn't really do exclusives. Since the site reports they have confirmed it is hitting the 360, it is safe to assume it is going to PS4, PS4, and XBox One. The Wii U is iffy as it tends to force studios to practically rebuild the game from scratch and with its lackluster sales many studios decide its not worth the expense. Hopefully the full details will be revealed at next week's E3. Any case you check check out the screenshots here.
Update: A leak on Best Buy Canada has confirmed the game is set for release on October 6 for the PS3, PS4, XBox 360 and XBox One with Platinum Games as the developer. The game looks like it uses the same graphics engine the company developed for The Legend of Korra video game which wasn't exactly critically acclaimed but they have an over all good track record so hopefully they learned from Korra. From the listing:

Transformers Universe Shutting Down
Jagex and Hasbro have announced that their online fake-free MMO/MOBA game is shutting down as of January 31st. While no specifics were provided on why the game is shutting down after, Jagex had started laying of the TFU team back in November. The game had just started its open Beta back in July and technically is still in Beta as it is shut down. The reasons why were not explained. It could be lack of users and interest or Hasbro revoked the license forcing the shutdown. I tend to lean to the latter as Hasbro seems to be in a bit of an ADD mode as it continues to reverse many of its decisions over the last few years that seems driven by declining toy sales across most of their brands including Transformers which did not get much of a boost from Transformers: Age of Extinction. Any case if you spent any money on the game, be sure to check out the shut down details to see if you could get a refund. Condolencesto the TFU team.

New Mobile Transformers Game Announced
Hasbro and NeNA have revealed their next mobile game called Transformers: Battle Tactics. The "free" game (does have in-game purchases) allows players to "collect" (aka buy) over 75 Autobots and Decepticons from different eras of the franchise with emphasis on Generation One and the IDW comics. The official website has been launched but the game itself is not available yet (probably be sometime in 2015). Below is a teaser video and game description. More screenshots are here.Battles are swift and require strategic decision-making to propel players to victory. Each Transformers character has unique stats and abilities, which shift as players convert them from robot to their alternate mode. The unique graphic style is inspired by the Transformers Generations Combiner Wars characters and comic book series. Transformers: Battle Tactics includes an expansive single-player campaign, story-driven in-game events and real-time player-vs-player (PvP) matches for players around the world to engage in strategic battles and rise to the top of the leaderboards.

First Look Angry Birds: Transformers Gameplay, Characters and Music
Set for release on iOS (Oct 15) and Android (Oct 30), Rovio has posted several videos for Angry Birds: Transformers. The first vid is a look at the gameplay which seems to be a side scroller with Generation One homages. After the gameplay trailer is a look at Angry Birds version of Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and Lockdown. The last video is an interview with Vince DiCola (Transformers: The Movie) who is one of the music composers for the game. I think this just might be the first mobile Transformers game I am genuinely curious about playing.

Potential Tease of 2014 Transformers Video Game Plans
The image to the left was posted on TFW2005 that teases some of the future plans for Transformers video games. The only reason suspicious might be an April Fools' joke is the reference to a "Transformers Movie 5" which would not be out until 2016 at the earliest. Despite that small blip the rest reads as likely so going with not a April Fools prank. The main bits of points is "Transformers: Angry Birds Go!" and Transformers: Spirits Rising. I assume the Angry Birds would be much like Star Wars Angry Birds, a crossover that Hasbro has enjoyed success with so mixing it with Transformers really falls under the "surprised they had not done this already" category. Chances are the console reference to "Transformers Movie 4" is the already announced Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark tie-in game. Other than a list of titles and platforms, no other details on release date, type of play or other details are available.
