New TV Spot, Bumblebee Fails to Record Lines and Voice of Hot Rod

First video below is another new TV spot with a few new scenes, the second is a cute bit with Bumblebee trying to record lines but singing them instead. In other news, Omar Sy (Bishop in X-Men: Days of Future Past) has confirmed he is the voice of Hot Rod in the movie. Thanks to Feris O. for the link.

Horns on a Planet, IMAX Running Time and Reno Returns

Three quick bits of info for Transformers: The Last Knight:

1) Here is a new poster that certainly seems to be designed to make long time fans think "Unicron". Still nada to back this long desired fan theory.

2) An unconfirmed rumor indicates the IMAX version of the movie will be 2h 32 minutes so 4 minutes longer then theatrical version.

3) Reno Wilson has tweeted confirmation that he will voice a character in Transformers 5 which I think makes him the only actor besides Peter Cullen to do all five movies. In previous movies he voiced Frenzy, Mudflap, and Brains. No indication if he returns as Brains or will voice a different character.

Bay: Tuturro, Goodman, Trailer This Year, UK Filming Completed

In a new Facebook video, Transformers: The Last Knight director Michael Bay revealed the most news at once about the movie. It isn't really much but compared to the impressive cone of silence he has kept on the production up to this point, its practically a feast.

- John Turturro and John Goodman are confirmed to return for the movie when Bay rattled off a list of names. John Turturro played Agent Simmons in the first three films of the franchise while John Goodman will voice Hound once again.

- Thursday was the last day of filming in the UK with production moving to Namibia, Africa for a few days to complete principle photography on the movie.

- A teaser trailer is planned for release either in November or December. I assume they are going to try to attach it to Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them as that is expected to be the big movie of the holiday season.

In the video (below) Bay mentioned the above news, showed off a little bit of a UK set in what I guess was filming set during King Arthur's time.

Two Story Hints, Tucci and Croft Join Transformers 5 Cast

As filming continues in London, Transformers: The Last Knight has added two more to the cast as well as possible story hints. To start, the pic from Laura Haddock's Instagram shows a TF5 movie prop a gruesome medieval death, not really understanding what that is on the skull. Likely just a background plot but maybe more.

Speaking of medieval, Acting Auditions has posted a search for extras for Transformers 5:
“Transformers: The Last Knight” will be filming a major medieval battle scene between Saxon Invaders and King Arthur’s Knights. Shooting will be taking place in London, England between October 3rd and October 14, 2016. The casting directors are seeking the following:

King Arthur, Merlin Cast for Transformers 5?

While not official confirmed, a post from Mashable is making the rounds that a King Arthur has been cast been cast for the role of King Arthur in Transformers: The Last Knight. After his turn as a not particularily kingly version of the character in Once Upon A Time TV series, Liam Garrigan has apparently been tapped to play the TF5 version of the character for the movie. Also of interest is the site suggests that Santiago Cabrera is Merlin instead of a just a soldier under Lennox's command. Is so this would be a pretty unique take on the Merlin character. Thanks to Feris O. for the heads-up.

Barricade's Robot Mode Revealed

The new robot mode for Barricade has been revealed. Last seen in Revenge of the Fallen Dark of the Moon, the character somehow survived and returns with a sleeker cop car alt mode and a much more bulkier look.

First Look at Hound's Robot Mode

Another day and another robot mode reveal. For Hound the robot mode mostly remains unchanged except for parts that resemble his military ambulance truck (or whatever it is). Bay tweeted "The lethal ballerina is back!"

Bay Reveals Crosshairs Robot Mode

Crosshairs returns for Transformers: The Last Knight, complete with cape. While his vehicle alt mode probably changed, his overall robot mode is very similar to his Age of Extinction look. The look was revealed via tweet from Bay saying "The only part of him that’s green is his color."

Bay Reveals Onslaught for Transformers: The Last Knight

The green utility vehicle that was spotted last month several times on the Arizona set of Transformers: The Last Knight now has a name. In a post on his website and Facebook page, Michael Bay has verified the character is Onslaught. The character in Transformers lore is the leader of the Combaticons, a group of five Decepticons that merge to form Bruticus. So far there has been no indication if the Combaticons are part of the movie so don't get your hopes up yet on a Combiner appearance.

New Alt Mode of Drift Revealed

In a twitter and blog post, Transformers: The Last Knight director Michael Bay revealed the new alt mode of Drift as a black and red Mercedes AMG GT R. In Age of Extinction the character's alt mode was a black and blue Bugatti Veyron. Generally speaking the alt modes for the cars is partly driven by story, partly by Bay's taste in cars and most importantly by wiliness of car makers to offer up their vehicles for free (which means more $ for VFX) and let Hasbro make toys off of them. My guess is the switch is due to Mercedes making a better offer (possibly more than one copy for filming purposes?). Thanks to Feris O. for the heads-up.

A Musketeer Joins Transformers: The Last Knight

A new post on the Transformers Instagram account reveals that Santiago Cabrera (Aramis on The Musketeers) has joined the cast of Transformers: The Last Knight. Apparently he is part of the delta symbol unit that is helping (or hunting) the Autobots but nothing else is said about the role besides the pic.

Tyrese Returns for Transformers 5

After a few weeks of occasional teasing, its now official. Tyrese Gibson returns as Robert Epps (current rank not mentioned) for Transformers: The Last Knight. Considering he is still filming Fast 8 so probably will miss at least half of the current TF5 shooting schedule so hard to judge the extent of his role in the movie. The news was revealed to Entertainment Weekly at the 2016 BET Awards red carpet and then he later posted on his Instagram account, "Rumor has it............ Nah.... Robert Epps is back!!!!!! #T5 summer 2017 just got even more interesting...... @MichaelBay aka #MrImAlwaysAwesome".

Michael Bay Introduces Squeeks (Updated)

Using their various social media accounts, Michael Bay teased the arrival of a new Transformers character. It first started on Michael Bay's twitter account when he asked "Is Squeaks camera-ready?" to which the Transformers twitter account replied with "just a few more touch-ups" along with a video of them spraying oil on a hint of blue. This led up to the full reveal via Bay's Instagram in a picture with him, Isabela Moner. It looks like the alt mode will be a rusted Vespa scooter. There are two spellings of the name but clearly the Instagram picture is designed to be spread via the various news sites so the official spelling is probably "Squeeks". If the name rings a bell it is probably because of the rumor last week about some of the characters and story for the movie. Update: Added another pic of Squeeks from MB.com.

Update: Thanks to Jeffrey Marshall of Pixel Rally for the new website banner that incorporates Transformers: The Last Knight look that replaces the one he created for TF4. Be sure to check out his site.

Two More Join Transformers 5 Cast

A bit of casting news as Transformers: The Last Knight moves from Arizona to Detroit, Michigan for filming. Mitch Pileggi (X-Files' Walter Skinner, Stargate Atlantis, ton of other TV shows) revealed via twitter that he "Had the extreme pleasure of working on the new Transformers movie with @michaelbay. It's fascinating watching this cat work." The past tense suggest his role is small and only for whatever sequences were filmed in Arizona.

It looks like Transformers 5 also found a woman for Cade in the form of Laura Haddock (Da Vinci's Demons, Guardians of the Galaxy as Peter Quill's mom). The actress announced the news on her twitter account with a video (maybe below as twitter's embed code only sometimes works). Also if in the Detroit area, the movie is also looking for extras as TF5 will be spending the next 8 weeks in the city. Full details can be found with Fox 2's interview with the casting director here.

Bumblebee Returns for Transformers 5

Just in case you had any doubts, Michael Bay has confirmed Bumblebee will be in Transformers: The Last Knight.

Anthony Hopkins Joins Transformers 5

The official Transformers twitter account has revealed that Sir Anthony Hopkins has joined the cast of Transformers: The Last Knight. Along with this picture (note the TF5 logo) they wrote "The man, the myth, the legend – help us welcome Sir Anthony Hopkins to the #transformers universe." No other details about the role was revealed.

In a somewhat related note, another British national is joining the film. "Britain's loneliest dog" Freya has been tapped by Michael Bay to appear in the film after appearing in the mirror for being rejected more than 18,000 times due to having epilepsy.
