Toy Fair Reveals The Last Knight Toys

This past weekend the New York Toy Fair was held. Hasbro was on hand to reveal their upcoming toys from Transformers: The Last Knight along with lines for Titans Returns, Robots in Disguise and more. The revealed toys for The Last Knight includes Megatron with his Cybertronian jet alt mode, Grimlock, Hound, Scorn, Bumblebee, Crosshairs, Strafe, Slash, Slug, Sqweeks and Steelbane (dragon? alt mode). Titans Returns continues with box sets and new releases including Overlord, Topspin, Quake, Twin Twist, Seaspray, Blitzwing, Octane, and more. For Robots in Disguise Season 3 about to premiere, Hasbro showed off their combiners from the line: Glavtronus combiner (Cyclonus, Cyberwarp, Skyjack, Threadshock, Riotgear). Menasor (Dragstrip, Heatseeker, Motormaster, Slashmark, Wildbreak), and UltraBee (BUmblebee, Grimlock, Sideswipe, Strongarm). There is also yet another release of the MP-10 Masterpiece Prime mold with an animated-ish paint scheme and Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee which looks like the one from 7 or so years ago but is a new mold and much smaller.

Video Preview of Three Last Knight Toys

Below is a video that provides the first real look at three Transformers: The Last Knight deluxe sized toys that will be coming out by this summer for the movie. While the transformation isn't shown we do get a look at Bumblebee, Berserker, and Bumblebee in their robot and alt modes. The main takeaway is the figures will sport the same simplified transformation sequences that Hasbro Transformers toys have been aiming for in the last few years with the pluses and minuses that come with that.

Berserker looks like the same SUV robot in the highway sequence from Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The 2011 toy was called Crankcase but he was unnamed for the movie. So either this is yet another dead Decepticon returning, a twin, or Hasbro is merging old and new Transformers into the line. Takara is doing a 10th anniversary re-release of previous movie toys but they are using the same molds from then while this looks like a redesign to fit the simplified transformation goal. Between Barricade and Berserker I can't help but wonder if part of the plot involves dead Decepticons being revived (or rebuilt by humans). The idea would also have the benefit of saving production a whole lot of money as ILM could re-use the previous movie's existing CGI files. After human salaries, creating a new Transformer from scratch to be photo real and transformable is probably the most expensive costs for the production each time.

If want to see more, here is a video slide show of the same toys.

NYCC: TF5 Voice Changer Helmet, RID Season 3, and New Titans

The New York Comic-Con kicked off on Thursday and turns out Hasbro decided to bring some news to the event. For Hasbro, the grand reveal is the Transformers Voice Changer Optimus Prime Helmet for Transformers: The Last Knight. This is the first official item from the upcoming line that Hasbro has shown off. The helmet is large enough to fit adult heads and will come with "21 button-activated sounds and phrases from Transformers lore" as voiced by Peter Cullen, who has been voicing Optimus for over 30 years now. It will also do voice modulation to change your voice to something Prime-ish in sound. The helmet seems like an easy sell for Christmas but sadly it will not be out until spring 2017.

It turns out that Transformers: Robots in Disguise cartoon was not cancelled. Renewed for season three, it will get an updated title of "Transformers: Robots in Disguise Combiner Force". The official synopsis:
