It seems a press embargo was released on preview articles around Transformers: Dark of the Moon The Video Game. As a result, we have further confirmation that Soundwave's alt mode is a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG despite Hasbro's efforts to "correct" the error on their Vector Sigma database by switching it to a satellite. This is seen by the vehicle kibble on the model. It also seems he does lose his blue color and trades it in for white or silver scheme. Reviews describe his alt mode as a truck so drawing the definitive conclusion remains murky. In addition, a Transformers: Rising Storm #3 panel also shows more car kibble on his robot mode with a dark gray color scheme. Thanks to Torsten for the images.
In relation to the game, Amazon has updated their various console posts to show off the new covers for the game (below). As previously announced, the game is being released on the XBox 360, PS3, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and on the Nintendo DS in Autobot and Decepticon games but apparently no PSP or PC version will be available.With the lifting of the embargo comes more articles describing the game. None cover new ground other then rephrasing what we already know about the game such as being a prologue to the movie, uses the War for Cybertron graphics and game mechanics, adds in the "Stealth mode" and has levels specific to each character. Hmmm. If Carly is driving it then maybe shes a pretender or Soundwave is gathering intelligence of some sort from them and is undercover.

ReplyDeleteone of the books for kids is called "autobots betrayed" (correct me if i'm wrong), so if soundwave is in fact the SLS, is carly's car and..........!
ReplyDeleteI would figure if he's anyone's car it's going to be some other character other than Carly's really. Sure she drives a Mercedes and it doesn't make sense to have two of them in there but I think the Autobots would be able to sense if there was a Decepticon traveling with them

ReplyDeleteI think the car look is the most updated and most likely what he will look like in the movie. The second mode with the wings is the style the toys were for ROTF.
My guess is he may start out looking that before he gets the car mode. Although I wouldn't be surprised if the satellite form is just comics only appearance
