Entertainment Weekly has an Q&A with Transformers Director Michael Bay. As part of the article, there is a nice looking head-to-toe image of Optimus Prime. Full of detail, it does look pretty darn good. Sadly my subscription to EW has lapse so unable to provide any highlights to the article itself.

I know intent to reach a wider range of people that would not normally watch the show, but to make Optimus flaming? Not that there is anything wrong with that. But he is sexless. Autobots are built, and some and female or male in appearance, but they are ROBOTS(and not ashamed of it).
ReplyDeleteI'll get used to it but it is strange to see him without his face mask up or to see him with blue as the predominant color. It's just odd. I'm not complaining. I think the movie will be fun but right now he isn't my 1980's Optimus Prime, which is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteall the text that is in the pic was all they had in EW we got it in the mail and other than the pic i was sadly disappointed with the article
ReplyDeleteSexless robots? Transformers? nah... Prime had a flame (sorry for the pun) and Arcee had feelings for Hotrod/Rodimus and Springar(I think)... Yes, they are built, but they (like humans) give a part of their spirit/spark to the new body. Oddly enough, there weren't a lot of females compared to how many males there were.

ReplyDeleteWhy do you think all the males were at war?
HAHA!YES!Also note the autobot symbol on his chest.A bit small for my taste but whatever!STOKED!
ReplyDeleteInteresting article.I'm a beautiful Chinese girl, could you do a friend with me?
ReplyDeleteI can't get over how great-looking this Optimus Prime looks as opposed to the Prime we all know. And it is also great to hear that the same voice is playing him again. I am definitely seeing this movie. BTW, I also have two sites on here. If you get a chance, check 'em out.
