The Fallen in TF II?

When Hasbro announced the official title for the movie to be Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, the speculation began on what that title meant. I proprosed it either meant the return of dead Decepticons (say Megatron) or betrayal (Starscream) or literally "The Fallen", a comic book invention of a Transformers who origins began at the very creation of the Transformers race who is the embodiment of evil and harbinger of Unicron.

According to a source to Chud.com, "Yesterday I heard from a trustworthy source with access to the production that all of my assumptions were wrong. The Fallen of the title, I was told, is in fact the Fallen of the comics."

I have to admit the idea is intriguing. A fire covered Transformers that doesn't care what side of the battle you're on causing chaos and destruction on earth sounds like visual fun to me.

Any case file this one under rumor as it will probably take a while to verify one way or the other.

Update:
The image above is from Richard Par who made it using a Megatron picture as the base. He "wanted to see how The Fallen would look when given that live-action Transformers feel."

As a side note to the above argument, something that may contradict the Fallen being a new TF character from the comics is the press release from Hasbro that stated "expect a key character from the first movie to make a dramatic comeback and attempt to settle a score."

  1. Great, so a transformer that is not on either side. Must the autobots and decepticons join forces to defeat this thing? ....no, that story hasn't been told before. c'mon hollywood!

  2. This must be a joke of the Bay's disinformation campaign to not reveal the true plot.
It's highly unlikely that Bay would introduce elements of Unicron so early. It would be just too difficult to explain to the general public, and the 2nd movie already has too many new characters to explain and make real to the viewers.
The character of the Fallen it's highly unlikely to appear in the storyline, unless it's used as a flashback like that of Megatron on Cybertron when Optimus Prime used his holographic system to show Sam and Mikaela the origins of the Allspark.

The Fallens is referred to Megatron, which is highly likely to turn into Galvatron I suspect..

  3. Yeah, I agree with the above poster. I don't think Bay would introduce such a transformer in the upcoming sequel. The title probably just refers to the decepticons getting their revenge after losing in TF I and the revival of megatron.

  4. my personal opinion is that its going to be a 3 way battle. Auto bots vs. decepticons, decepticons vs. decepticons, and humans vs. decepticons. Plus they said a lot of the filming will be from their planet as well with their own dialogue.

  5. If this was the fallen character it could be Vector Prime. Remember Micheal Bay did promise us a new Gearatratic Robot and this would be a perfect fit.

See the Fallen is what Vector Prime was before he turned to good. He was one of the original 13 Transformers created bye Primus.

Micheal Bay could even make him a Jet sort of like he was in Transformers-Cybertron or a Tank like his alt mode was in the comics.

But I doubt he will have the cool lookin flames like in the IDW Comics. My only promblem is will his minicon safegaurd be in it.

This seems to be hinting that the 3rd and final movie we may get to see Unicron in it. But will he be an all world eater or a cosmic dust cloud of dustruction like in Fantastic 4.

  7. Can't be vector prime. The character is from the first movie.

  8. I hope that the words "The Fallen" refer only to Megatron as he's the most suitable candidate for revenge, unless it also refers to all the other Transformers who died in the first film.

However, knowing Bay's liberal poetic license with the TF stories, who knows - maybe Megatron is revived as THE FALLEN and comes back to wreck $hit. We'll see.

  9. So lets see.. this ''The Fallen'' had an appearance in the first movie, and it is also a key character and it's ''the very creation of the Transformers race who is the embodiment of evil and harbinger of Unicron''.
That could only mean that it's Megatron returns as Galvatron. A big key character to be honest, because Transformers is nothing without Megatron/Galvatron. Trust me.

  10. It's Frenzy. Frenzy is coming back to settle the score. He'll be on fire because of that flamethrower from the first movie.

  11. I think I like the idea of The Fallen being sent by Unicron to revive Megatron, or possibly even turn him into Galvatron.

Megatron gets revived, either early or halfway through the movie, Megatron finally gets rid of his hideous Cybertron mode and gets an earth mode that looks a little more like G1 Megatron (I can't see movie Megatron looking totally like G1 with the precedent they've already set, but they can definitely make him look more like it).

I think it will be better if Megatron doesn't become Galvatron until the third movie. The Fallen would be sent by a friend of his (he wouldn't mention who, but we'll just say it's Unicron) to revive Megatron. The Fallen would be defeated in this movie, and meanwhile, Megatron escapes

In the third movie, Megatron comes into contact with Unicron.

Now how will they do Unicron realistically in a live action movie? We're going to have to throw out some of the realism. Of course we're already having to, but we'll have to do even more.

I really love Michael Bay's first Transformers movie, even with all the changes (I did have problems with a couple of things, but overall, I loved it). Perhaps we'll see even better ideas than what I've got right now.

  12. I'm chuckling heartily at how people blatantly and ignorantly refused to believe this...

    and it's true.

I love reminiscing. Gives me something to giggle about.
