Over at the
TFormers forums, "Hunter Rose" (name of comic book Grendel) pretty much writes this post for me.
I have a buddy who is a manager at a theater, and just like last year when he hooked me up with a TF Movie shirt early - he gave me a brand new REVENGE OF THE FALLEN shirt today.
I guess we should expect to see promos popping up at theaters soon then...

The current theory is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer will start this Friday with Quantum of Solace and the Star Trek trailer. Failing that, then Twilight becomes the next likely debut movie. Hopefully by the end of the week Paramount will release something that verified the trailer's debut date (but not holding my breath on that). Thanks to Rich for the link.

God, I hope they put the Transformers Teaser with Quantum of Solace. I'm already looking forward to the new Star Trek and Watchmen trailers.

ReplyDeleteTrailers for Watchmen, Star Trek, and Terminator Salvation are already releasing with Bond this weekend. I'm afraid at T2 trailer would just crowd the mix. Twilight might be a better bet, but I'd put my money on seeing a trailer with The Day the Earth Stood Still on December 12. They're both IMAX releases, so it makes sense. And the only announced trailer for that weekend so far is Wolverine.

ReplyDeletePersonally, I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that we'll see a trailer that soon - I mean, they just wrapped days ago. Unless they had some of the new robots already pre-rendered, there's no way in hell. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteThey've been working on renders for a long time. Believe me Bay has been doing trailer work well before filming ended. I don't think we'll see it before December though.

ReplyDeleteOn the DVD Special Features - Skorponoc In the Sand. When Bay does the Exploding sand sequence with Tyrese and his 2 buddies running down the hill, Bay says to Tyrese and I quote,
"Now we have to get this right cause this is going to be in the trailer. It's a trailer shot. So try not to trip up because these are live explosives."
When they were filming those scenes they weren't even halfway into Filming the movie!!! So it makes you wonder how long into this film (not long) did they quietly create a trailer layout and shots choice.
So if not with BOND, then definietly in DECEMBER! Trust me, I know what they're up to. How dumb do they think we are! LOL.
I despise Twilight with..every ounce of bitterness I have, but my friends are dragging me to see the movie. Ick.

But bro... isn't Quantum of Solace already out? Well perhaps at least over here in Malaysia (not that good compared to Casino Royale). Anyways there wasn't a trailer when I watched it last week :(

UK viewer here... went to see QoS last night...FRICKIN' AWESOME MAN!!! But no TF2 trailer, no Star Trek trailer either.
ReplyDeleteMy money goes on a trailer(s) (perhaps not both but definitely one of!) airing with TDTESS which I think is out roughly 12th Dec (over here anyway). Hadn't even heard of Twilight 'til saw the poster last night... but guessing the theme of the movie, i.e. Disney fantasy, it'll be a PG rated film... and I'm hoping TF2 is going to be 12A again... means for more 'bad-ass' action rather than 'tiffs & squibbles' if rated PG.
Trailer development wise, the first trailer (rather than Mars teaser) was Dec '06 which showed Prime transforming in the alley-way when introduced to Sam and Scorpinok. This was WAY before shooting completed... they must have just worked on some specific renders harder and sooner than others... my guess is we'll definitely see something jaw-dropping before the year's out!
Anyone know if we're going to get a list of definitive TF's for TF2 like we did on the Yahoo forums in Summer '06 for TF1? We need to... or will that reveal to much re: who the Fallen is, or plot of the storyline...?
My making the point of Twilight being a PG and TF2 being a 12A... 12A trailers can't be aired with any film less then a 12-rated film whereas PG films can't air trailers over anything rated PG, i.e. only 'U' (universal) and 'PG'.
ReplyDeleteTDTESS looks like it'll be a 12A thus ideal for TF2 trailer around Christmas time. The more I think about this... the more sure I am of it. Nevermind Dec 25th... roll on Dec 12th!!!!

ReplyDeletefollow the above link to some potential early (very bad) leaks of Soundwave movie toy . Personally I think it looks like a customiesd Megatron from TF1, other than that you pretty much can't make anything else from it.
Yeah posters may go up... but I think they'll only show surviving characters from TF1, i.e. Starscream, Prime, Bumblebee, etc... I still think we'll get something before Christmas, even if only a teaser (def won't be a full-blown theatrical trailer).
I got my tix for the premiere of quantum of solace on friday, definitely will keep my eyes open and post any TF2 happenings on the movie premiere..

The trailer for Star Trek is debuting with the new Bond film (good film btw, not as good as Casino Royale (I live in Britain I didn't watch it illegally no worrys)). And the Star Trek trailer is being released online in HD on Monday 17th, according to www.trekmovie.com. So if it DOES debut with the new bond film expect it to pop up around the same time.

I believe it's the giant dump truck looking robot. So I guess that's confirmed in TF2.
I seriously think there's TF2 toys in production right now. They have to. It takes too long to create, produce, pack, ship, and get in stores before the movie.

Hey Quinnzo, where did you see QoS?? I saw it in Huddersfield last night (Monday 10th) but there was no Star Trek trailer. I still think both ST and TF2 trailers will be attached to TDTESS on Dec 12th
ReplyDeleteUsually studios announce when they're releasing a trailer. If it was being released this Friday we would have heard something by Monday. I doubt Quantum will be the movie...But I want it to be.
