TF2 Chevy Volt Gets A Name

From TF08.net once again has provided the picture of a new toy that is probably part of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen line. The alt mode is the Chevy Volt and based on the description on the card, the character has the name of Jolt. Appropriate name considering the near all electric engine design of the vehicle and not based on any previous G1 character I am aware of.

The toy might seem for the Transformers: Animation line but the head and front detail is much greater then the animation line tends to be. Really there is nothing cartooney about the design, a hallmark of the animation line. It’s a simple Transformer but then that is part of the mandate of the Fast Action Battlers line.

Considering the car's multiple appearances on Transformers sets during the summer and Hasbro going through the trouble to create a toy for the car, I do believe this could be confirmation that the Volt is a Transformer character for the upcoming sequel. Thanks to Phil for sending this in.

hahaha Exactly! Well, the activators version looks pretty good I guess (more like CRAP haha), here's hoping to see what the Deluxe version will look like and then the ultimate real movie version. ^_^

  4. Maybe this one is repaint fast action battler. Renamed as ''Jolt''. In first movie toy line jazz was repainted and called ''Smokescreen''. Maybe this one was repaint character.

It wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened.

Jolt was a minicon that was sided with the Autobots in Transformers: Cybertron.

In Transformers Energon or Armada (can't remember which, maybe both) Laserbeak (a different spelling from lazerbeak) was an Autobot.

The character named Inferno in G1 and G2 was an Autobot. But a Character named Inferno in Beast Wars (different character, I'm sure, just like Megatron in Beast Wars and the other Megatron are two different characters completely) was a predacon.

I'm sure there are some other instances similar to this too. But those are a few I can think of off the top of my head.

  6. It only makes sense that the Chevy Volt was a transformer. I mean, why the hell would it have appeared in all those scenes with the other Autobots unless it was a Transformer? This faking out shit that Bay have been doing is old, and I think that Bay is underestimating the intelligence of some of his audience. I suspected from the gate that the Volt was an Autobot.

  12. If anyone thinks that Chevrolet Volt at ROTF mvoei isn't transformer robot, they are wrong. That toy and cover of Alliance #4 comic are two proves about that Jolt will be one of the Autobots in ROTF movie.

  14. It could be worse.

They could have named the Volt Ron.

  15. As others have noted, this is a Fast Action Battlers class toy made for kids younger than Hasbro's normal target audience. It has simpler details, more constrained proportions and usually doesn't really reflect the Movie's design that well because it has a very simple transformation (hence "Quick Conversion!").

Fast Action Battlers are designed with gimmickery in mind than accuracy. So at best, this toy merely gives us a rough idea of what Jolt looks like.

Wait for pics of his normal Deluxe class toy.

  17. I can't believe no one has realized there was a Jolt in the previous movie's toy line. The purple Decepticon car that was a Wal-Mart exclusive.

So now there's two Jolts in the movie continuity? That's gotta get confusing. (And if you say that Jolt isn't necessarily in continuity since he's a store exclusive... Crankcase, Breakaway, Divebomb, and Grindcore were all Wal-Mart exclusives and ended up in the Reign of Starscream comic series, along with some Target and Toys-R-Us exclusive characters like Wingblade and Crosshairs)

So... did Jolt switch sides or are there two Jolts in this universe?

That's what I want to know.

I can't belive, that anybody cares about character that wasn't in the movie, and is just a stupid exclusive repaint from another series...

  19. Arcee, Soundwave and Ravage should have been appreanced in first movie, but Arcee appreanced only as a toy. Jolt appreanced also as a toy. But Sideswipe's previous appreanced was in Transformers: The Game PSP version. And Mixmaster and Scrapper appreanced at game as drones. I don't know yet will they are two of the Constructicons in ROTF movie. But Jetfire, Skids and The Fallen haven't appreanced before.

  27. Ok hello everyone! Let me let you guys in on something that you may not be ware of. Michael Bay has given Hasbro permission to release false packaging images of the ROTF figures. So most likely a majority of these figures are false. Also, JOLT is a DECEPTICON. He is more purple than blue which the CHEVY VOLT appears to be. There are already toys of VOLT as a Decepticon which have been released. He is MORE THAN LIKELY to be a Decepticon if JOLT really is his true identity. THANKS EVERYONE! HOPE THIS HELPS!

HE gave THEM permision? Are you realy that stupid? If someone pull the strings here, it's Hasbro. And what, maybe you think, that Hasbro will waste money, on making false molds too?

Dude, please, step away from your computer, as far as you can, and never come back.

  30. has anyone looked at the begining of the bio? It might provide a lil hint to the plot of the movie:
"...autobots battle in secret to destroy the evil forces of the decepticons. Little do they know that an even deeper threat is about to arise....."
This could imply someone other than the autobots and decepticons will show up.Now I'm not a big fan of the Fallen idea, but this might give that theory a lil more credibility.....

  31. Holy smokes! JOLT has 'Electro Whips' as weapons!!! Niiiiiiice. I wonder what kind of other weapons they have in store for us? As if Barricade's Spike Ball n' Chain and now Sideswipe's (or whoever he is) Giant Sword Daggers weren't cool enough.

This movie is gonna be intense to watch. Just like the trailer... if it comes out in FEBUARY.
