Based on the pictures, it appears our returning favorites will remains very close to how they where in the first movie while the toys have been upgraded just a touch in the detail and gimmick department to make buying them all over again very tempting.

Anyhow, these toys look very very tempting .. luckily i have set aside some $$ for the TF2 toys.
If i have anything left over after picking up the new characters, i might get some of the returning characters too.

ReplyDeleteOK, Bumblebee is completely new. It's not totally accurate but it's definitely something I wanna get. I like the re-dos of the other ones too. More for my shopping list! I'm totally saving up lots for this man!

Ironhide: "Just kidding. I just wanted to show them my NEW, BIG cannon!" Taking out Sam's parents is no longer "an option", but a reality. Maybe that weird symbol on Ironhide is for when the Autobots team up with the military?
Starscream's F-22 mode looks more like an actual F-22 than the previous toy. His hands-guns look awesome.
Optimus looks way more poseable and WAY better.
Bumblebee is a voyager!
Bad things:
Starscream is still not as cool as his CGI model.
Might have to pick one of these up.
The way Starscream is standing on the box art makes his legs look very short, seriously, Hasbro needs to put better pics on the backs of these things.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that Bumblebee is a Voyager. He is still a deluxe. As you can see, Ironhide's box is different than Bumblebee's. Bumblebee is in a "special" scene capture packaging like how Longarm was in with Mikaela in it. The packaging is totally different.

However, I am fully agreeable that he now has a different mold as well as a different transformation.

Yeah that's what I thought as well. Like snippets of epic scenes in the movie - the ones they had from the first movie.

Starscream looks hot! I think litte extra detailing and changing small prts here and there sufficiently warrant me getting all the old characters!

i don't know, maybe this is one of those screen battles, and this probably is a deluxe bumblebee, but maybe more detailed paint like in "the capture of bumblebee". that one had better paint. anyway, this is pure awsomeness!!!!!!

Its possible this one with Sam might also be a deluxe, but I doubt they would be making two of the same size, just to transport Sam.
So it's also possible it might be a voyager. Can't say for sure 100%, only time will tell.

ReplyDeletePsh whatever. Starscream did not look ugly... well ok the toys didn't do him justice but there are improvements at least.
ReplyDeleteHe has a new head sculpt which looks much more accurate and detailed and his overall appearance is more detailed which is nice. I also think it is neat his tattoos are there from the comic. I'd rather him get some upgrades and tattoos for the new movie then change his design.
He was also my favorite in the movie. I really loved his design and I hope these toys prove that their movie designs haven't changed. I'll be really happy.
Voyager BB looks great. Unfortunately it seems to have taken a design cue from Ultimate BB. It looks like this new mold doesn't have a right hand. My best guess is that this was done to accommodate the human ally riding gimmick for that arm. Judging by the pictures I'm slightly optimistic that the seat flips down and somehow forms a hand. Regardless, I'm looking forward to this Voyager toy.
ReplyDeleteStarscream is a definite improvement. Ironhide and Optimus are slight dissapointments though. I was really hoping for a new redesign for both.
It seems that Hasbro took some fan complaints into effect. First off--StarScream appears to have hands finally & with the weapon detachment feature his robot mode doesn't suffer with the bulky guns on the sides. Second--Iron hide's TopKick mode is better without the cannon underneath the driver side door. I don't care for this Prime as I will be purchasing the Leader-Class. As for the Bumblebee I do agree that it's a Voyager class model. Shia LeBeouf fans will be happy with this Bumblebee & Sam toy idea.

I think the Bumblebee looks a lot like an Alternator. So it's possible he's not a Deluxe, or a Voyager. That could help explain why his size lets the Sam toy sit in the seat.

ReplyDeleteWhat the hell happened to starscream in the first film he was atleast slightly good as a toy now theyve made the body too large just to fit in a ****ing rotating gear gymic.
Optimus (voyager) is a repaint and has nothing good about it. I might buy the leader set because of the dual blade swords which i will cut off and add to the original version which looks better.
I missed out on bumblee bee the first time and i was going to buy him this time however they have changed the head model so i wont buy him.
I missed out on ironhide from the first film so i will get this version although they look the same this one is more detailed and i can repaint it to match the original film colors. The gun looks stupid on his roof though!

"Transformers: Rise of Unicron sounds like a cool title. Except my biggest fear would be people glancing at it and thinking that it says "UniCORN". Then they would laugh. And my first thought when I read that was "Rise of the Lycans" for some reason.

ReplyDeleteThe new Leader Prime is incredible. Makes me want to throw the previous one in the trash. Starscream's alt mode looks a little more streamlined. No giant, under-wing arm turrets. Very nice. The new BB is interesting. I'm a little hesitant to pick it up, though, because it seems it's more of a gimmick class than a voyager. Transformation seems cheap, and that nub-seat of a right arm looks stupid.
