The concluding issue four of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Prequel Defiance arc came out this Wednesday and it provides a few details and spoilers for the upcoming movie. The arc is the story of what started the Transformers Civil War that eventually reached Earth in the first movie. I have not read the copy so the information is from Seibertron and TFW2005.In this first three issues, a relic (the sarcophagus Megatron bows before) is found during an archaeology dig on the planet Cybertron. At this time Megatron is leader of the military and Optimus (not yet Prime) is essentially his assistant and director of the dig. Due to the influence of The Fallen, Megatron claims the relic as his own. The Fallen continues to build on Megatron's ambition until he declares martial law and forms the Decepticons and orders the arrest of Optimus and his friends for treason.
So now to the movie related points of interest:
- The Fallen and his "brothers" (13 total perhaps?) were born on the same planet as the AllSpark (its own origins unknown).Update: Small update, changed the cover photo in the top left to much better variant cover for the issue. To bad there wasn't a scene like that in the first movie.
- The AllSpark's power was limited but could be restored by harvesting the energy of a sun.
- The first Cybertronians (including Jetfire) were created to find an appropriate star while the Sun Harvester is built on another planet (Earth).
- The Fallen wanted the AllSpark power for himself but his brothers turn the tables and trap The Fallen and themselves in the sarcophagus
- After the brothers are trapped, a pyramid is built around the Sun Harvester.
- The Fallen influences Megatron to form the Decepticons to use the AllSpark to find the Sun Harvester and activate it so he can be released (alluded to in coloring book pages).
- Optimus Prime forms the Autobots to stop Megatron and his followers from freeing The Fallen.
- As part of the war, the AllSpark is sent into space where it lands on earth due to it detecting the Sun Harvester on the planet (and thus the beginning of the first movie).

ReplyDeleteI'm not 100% on knowing the original G1 storyline so I can't compare it to the plot this blog is talking about (as in I can't say which one is better or if the new plot line pays tribute to the G1 days), but I will say that it's a good plot in my opinion.

I thought I would clear something up for everyone. I was just told by someone close to production that when all the wheeled-robots are standing the wheels roll up the ankle so that the transformers will actually be standing on feet and not wheels like everyone was bitching about. so no more complaining you whiners!

I like this story it goes a lot deeper than the first one. I'm really loving this transformers mythology.

ReplyDeleteThere is no point me making a plot for this film as it will be useless as the film is released soon. However i will be voicing my opinions on a TF3 Plot while we wait for the release of the third film.
The sarcofagues (Spelling) they are talking about is really a shard of another allspark which was powered by absorbing the energy of another sun. It acts kind of like a dimensional portal.
No spacebridges here. I like it better that way. And I agree with Scorp. The second film is done. The third one is where it's at.

As for the brothers i believe the way they are mentioned describes the fallen as a member of a seperate race and he also seems to be a TOT (Techno-Organic Transformer) as the Allspark created him from an organic world.

I was thinking more along the lines of Primus,Unicron or the original god who made them. The Quintessons are a tricky life form however i cant envision a plot in which they would need to create life. Unicron on the other hand could use it to create metal or change a planet so he could eat it. Primus could bring life to anything so he might have used the Allspark to change Unicron into a giant metal planet.

ReplyDeleteAs with the rest of the Constructicons Hightower hasnt been revealed in robot mode yet. The third trailer is rumored to be released with Startrek however if it is it will be confirmed on Micheal bay`s blog which is called Michealbay.com or his forums. However if it is not confirmed then most likely the third trailer may not be released until the film is near release date.

ReplyDeleteheyy abouty lazerbeak being in the movie, if you go on wikipedia and type in , transformers 2 go to cast and go to decepticons, under Ravage theres something that says, "a robot resembling frenzy, with a cat like face,dread locks, and a bird like beak was spotted on set. i pritty sure if u go on google you cam see a picture of it somewhere i konw back in October i saw that picture, it was on the Princten campus set. my guess is its lazerbeak or Alice (pretender),or mabye alice whos disguse was a human named alice but is secretly Lazerbeak. im not really sure

ReplyDeleteI don't think they should go with the Quintessons as an origin source. The Quintessons never really made sense. They have to make it more mythical.

ReplyDeleteTo Scorpio: Smokescreen is now an official new ROTF toy,together with a new Brawl. So i don't think Smokescreen will be in the movie to replace Jazz,because Brawl won't be there neither,cause he's dead. It's cool though to see Smokescreen in his G1 colors.

I just wanted to add something about the Allspark. For most of the comments appear to refer to the new interpretation of it. I believe it was somewhere on the Unicron Trilogy (Armada, Energon and Cybertron), as well as some other DreamWave comics, that the story of the beginning is told.
ReplyDeleteIt goes something like this: The Allspark is a being older than everything, even the universe itself, when he/she/it saw the universe being born, he wanted to know more about it, so he created Unicron and Primus, brothers, heralds of this Allspark God, so they could gather information about the newly created space and they could bring it back to It. In his travels, Unicron realized there was much energy in the cosmos and that he could eat it all and become almighty, so Primus didn't like this and fought his brother, being able to manipulate matter he got hist brother's essence into a planetoid where he should be sleeping forever.
Done this, he decided to do just about the same for him and he transformed into a planet himself (Cybertron) and created thirteen robots to protect him, of which the only two confirmed are Vector Prime and The Fallen (others are hinted now and then but they all appear to have lost their memories for some reason or another)
The Fallen is called this way, because he believed in chaos as a more powerful force so he woke the Chaos Bringer (Unicron). After doing this, some battles later, Unicron was defeated (although you can never truly defeat pure evil, can you?), and in doing this, both Unicron and The Fallen got trapped in an in between dimension out of every reality caused by the destruction of the demigod ... so we thought ... they both have been freed some way or another to continue the struggle between good and evil, chaos and order ...
So you see, the allspark is more like God, like the Hindu God rather, who created lower gods so they ruled over things while he just sat there and watched
