Josh Nizzi's ROTF Concept Art
Yesterday Ryan Church's Revenge of the Fallen concept art was found online and now Josh Nizzi's is up for our enjoyment on his website. Josh Nizzi has done covers for IDW's Transformers comics and first popped up on our radars with his concept art for Long Haul that got the attention of Michael Bay. He has posted many images he did as part of the prep work for Transformers 2 that includes designs for Megatron, Jetfire, Power Up Optimus Prime, head designs and much more. Below are a few of the images but it’s worth checking out the full gallery here.

i wonder what the crashed ship and hologrphic locator were intended for in the story...but i guess bay just cut them out because he couldn't put any explosions in those scenes!
ReplyDeleteSo some of the robot designs were finished by December '07 and January '08??
ReplyDeleteDamn this is #%$*ing awesome without a doubt.
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous 1:45am ... some of those drawings were for the comic books leading up to the movie. Never intended for the movie.
ReplyDeleteAnd as a side note, just because someone finished the concept art in 07 and 08, that doesn't mean the CGI is done. The drawing is the "easy" part. Next comes months and months of trying to get that created on a computer.
Damn - hired on the spot for TROTF? Nice. Josh's concept art is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, IT'S KICK@$$ AWESOME!!
ReplyDelete2 of the best out there: PowerUP Optimus and the good ol' Jetfire!
ReplyDeleteI was at the midnight IMAX premiere in Raleigh, NC and was able to meet Josh. I spoke with him after the movie to get some pointers about how to get into his line of work.
ReplyDeleteWho is the transformer on the air craft carrier

ReplyDeletei think that might have been an early concept drawing of the fallen
im just assuming since it says THE FALLEN on the bottom right corner of that image
I love the concept heads for the 12 Primes. you can tell he used the Egyptian theme on quite a few of the heads. Number 12 especially. Its Anubis all the way. lol. He does a great job. Hope hes hired for the 3rd movie too.
