Revenge Nominated for Seven Razzies

Today was not a good day for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen which seven nominations for the Razzie Awards tied it with Land of the Lost as the worst film of 2009. Where the Oscars reward for excellence in film, the Razzies "reward" for making bad films. Clearly their nominating committee did not like the film at all. It seems they didn't like Bay's directing, the script, Julie White's high on brownies performance, anything to do with Fox and more. Some of the nominations (Fox, the script) seem valid, but others do not (White, Bay, etc).

'Transformers,' to me, is the personification of what's wrong with Hollywood right now," [Razzie Author John Wilson] said. "It's all about do what already worked, pander to the audience, put in a lot of special effects. ... It's almost as though when they were editing the thing they had a little egg timer running, and every seven minutes something had to blow up or somebody had to yell, 'Go go go go! Run run run run!'

The "winners" receive a hand-made, spray-painted gold trophy" that is worth about five dollars. Much like the nominations are announced the day before the Oscar noms, so too is the reward "ceremony". The Gala 30th Annual Razzie Awards will be held March 6th at Barnsdall Gallery in Hollywood, CA. The categories and the competition for ROTF is below, click here for find out the rest.

  1. No mention of the bad jokes? I thought the innuendos were the worst part of the movie

  2. Really? REALLY? I understand that "Revenge of the Fallen" wasn't the greatest film of all time, had many flaws and was such because of the writer's strike (and Bay), etc., but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it deserves 7 Razzies and title of "worst movie of the decade". I wouldn't even go as far as to say that it was the 'worst film of 2009'. I MIGHT give it the title of "Worst Summer 2009 Movie", only because other people say it was bad, but then again, I love it to death, saw it 3 times, and bought the DVD and toys and such; but it will always remain a fun, enjoyable (yet not without its flaws) movie of epic proportions about a beloved childhood television show.
    ...
Maybe 2 or 3 Razzie nominations, seeing as how Razzies are a joke. (It would be nice to see Revenge of the Fallen receive 2 or 3 Oscar nominations (visual effects, sound editing, sound mixing) too. You know, something good for it's name.)

I can see Bay going up on stage to receive his Razzie and waiting there in silence until everyone quiets down. *holds up his hands* "My movie made more money than all other films nominated for the Razzies put together!" *takes award* "F*** YOU GUYS!" *raises detonator* "Get ready for Transformers 3!"

    :)

  4. Watch audiences be blown away by the awesome-ness of "Transformers 3"? Or be blown away by how many Razzies "Transformers 3" might win?

  5. let them celebrate their stupidity with those awards. give them millions of dollars but i dont think they can even create a single transformer like bay did.

dont watch it if u hate it so much. why bother giving such insult to them? most people love the movie the so much.

  6. I agree what TylerMirage said. You can razz the movie all you want. But the fact of the matter is that Hollywood doesn't care about awards. It only cares about making money. LOTS OF MONEY. And TF2 made TONS of money.

Even if TF2 won 7 razzies, I'm sure the marketers would LOVE that. Free advertising!

And just so you know, KIDS who watch this film, don't care about acting. Teens don't much care either, they just want waaahhh Shiaaa~ and waaaahhh Megaaann~ So there.

  8. Thats right, movies are not suppose to be for entertainment.... wait.... my bad. Razzie awards are lame. Look at us for 5 minutes and then forget we exist. I enjoyed T2 alot. To much cussing, to much sexual innuendos, but I enjoyed the Transformers and all the action. Critics only enjoy liberal movies.

  9. Good.

"The "winners" receive a hand-made, spray-painted gold trophy" that is worth about five dollars."

HAHAHAHA! Quick, one of you dumbasses needs to say something in response, like, "that's thirty more dollars for Bay," or something of equal stupidity just to save face.

There's a reason that these awards are of such low quality and worth so little. You tards will defend anything with the name Transformers behind it, I swear, it's like bad comedy.

No! No, worse than that, it's like the comedy in Transformers 2! HAHAHAHA!

  10. What I'm more shocked about is how the hell didn't Dragonball evolution wasn't up there? we can all agree that it was the worst movie. Harry potter beaten ROTF by the most mistakes and yet it was still at the top. They just hate bay, because thats the only reason ROTF got picked alot.

  11. @ Anon 12:07PM
    Stay of the blog.

    @ Alpha
Yeah, wtf is up with that? And why isn't Streetfighter Legend of Chun-Li nominated?

To be a razzie author like John Wilson.....what a sad life he must have.

  14. hey, the dvd was one of the best selling of the year, its the stupid critiques who just dont remeber watching a movie that was simply fun, its limited cuz it reflects a frabchise 20 some odd years in the making

  15. hahaha oh god Dragonball Evolution!!! Thank you for mentioning that god-awful shit thing! I don't even know why it didn't receive a razzie. It even starred some well-known celebs in it. Boggles the mind.

  16. It got what it deserves...that movie was pure garbage. The jokes sucked, the twins were crap and every single character was so over the top. Don't see how anyone over the age of 12 can like this movie. Bays script ideas were so bad...wonder if anyone in his crew can grow some balls and stand up to him.
