No shooting today on the Detroit set, but they were definitely prepping for one big ass blowout. The big thing with the 3 pagoda roofs on it, we watched them remove a large panel from that and fill an explosion container with bags and bags of potting soil and garden soil. This is what they packed the ground containers with for every explosion. Also, they've attached to each of the three or four HUGE brackets to the main supports of that structure just below each roof and had a cable attached to one that was either anchored to the ground or to the cherry picker in the photo. My theory is that either tonight or tomorrow they're going to either rip the roofs off of that structure or pull the thing completely down in an explosive BOOM. They were also working on a ton of wiring which would seem to support the big boom theory as well.It does seem likely as we are talking Michael Bay here and he loves his big booms. Up to this point the Bayhem has been relatively tame. To be fair when you have extras and actors running around the set, it makes sense. However, since the built sets have to be taken down anyway, might as well use their end to something purposeful like a big boom.
In addition BennettPrime reports he heard the last 10 second of a radio broadcast that was either speculation on the story or their report of a rumor of a story beat for Transformers 4. The broadcast was saying that the sword Mark Wahlberg is carting around in Detroit is called the "Energon Sword" which was forged from the Spark of Megatron. The report also speculated that the Decepticons are dealing with a new enemy, potentially the unaligned Dinobots. Personally I like the idea that the sword is really the key to Vector Sigma but who knows at this point. Hopefully as production continues more story details will emerge.
