  1. Awesome movie! Only complaint I have is the lack of Decepticons

  2. I just watched it a 2nd time and planning on watching it at least once during the week, and again over the 4th of July wknd. LockDown just became one of my favorite bad boy's besides Megs in the first movie, Lock was totally bad ass, I cant get enough of that dude. Galvatron was cool too but he's set up for another movie and Optimus turning into some kind of knight was awesome, made him more noble with honor and leadership. Ofcourse it crushed it at the box office and got an A- cinema score. Isn't it amazing how this teenie teenie tiny tiny group of so called Ebert crowd critics try so hard to bash the movie so people will stay home 1000% failed. But boy oh boy they love Godzilla. Bring on Trans 5 with GALVATRON.

  3. I don't get where the critics or haters are comin from.....the movie was GREAT!! Effects were completely mind blowing and the story wasn't bad at all!! It's staying true to the old school stories, you just gotta pay attention to it. It was left completely open for Galvatron to come back AND the dinobots (WHICH SURPRISED ME) to come back. And I have a feeling Optimus is gonna hunt down the Quintessens (sp).......just my opinion.

    1. its more true to the prime series than the old school ones...grimlock was somewhat smarter in the comics than in the tv series....and hound shouldve just been named bulkhead lol

  4. Yeah, I felt the same way dude!!! When my friend and I saw the trailer with Lockdown telling O.P. "you think you were born? You were built and now they want you back!" we instantly shouted "the Quintessen!!!" I agree with the dude who said not enough 'cons. The seekers woulda been a nice addition or maybe even a 'con combiner like stunicons/Menasor!!! Best of the four movies in my opinion! The critics can go ahead and sip their tea, talk in a fake English accent and watch Driving Miss Daisy! Autobots, roll out!

  6. So as I understand there no tie-in comics for the movie by IDW? No usual prequels and so on? Does anyone know why?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Because no amount of prequels could make sense of this movies plot

    2. Yes, no amount of school could turn you from being a moron.

  7. Are you serious? you can't understand the plot? WOW!. It's the most easiest plot to understand, almost too simple. I knew right away what it was all about, a 10 yr old could figure it out.

    1. I am quite confused by people who claim not to understand this movie's plot. It seems like they have decided to hate on the movie no matter what.

  8. Loved the movie great visuals. how ever they need to do more explaining like how the hell did the autobots get here and why didn't Hound or Crosshairs transform and all of a sudden Optimus flies with no explaination. I totally understood why Lock Down was there, they did great with Lockdown but went off the rails with everything else. The fight scenes and visuals were so awesome I let a lot slide. I don't know if they just explained a little more it would go a long way.

    1. I think Optimus got his flight thrusters when he grabbed the sword of judgement, when he touches it his forearms transform, so I think by taking the sword it upgraded him to the Silver Knight status and flight was a perk, IMO, of course it would have been useful before leaving earth, like when he was getting sucked up in the ship, but hey that's mike bay for ya enough action to cover for story laziness

      Delete
    2. agreed the story was just pure lazyness....everything else however was decent

      Delete
    3. and hound *cough* i mean bulkhead ...oh wait transformed at least once in it...

      Delete
    4. Stop the whining already. Prime was upgraded when he pulled the sword in the Knight's Chamber. If you think you could execute such a behemoth film production any better, go ahead and make your own.

  9. please explain the plot to me...prime some kind of space knight? the dinobots were fugitves? oh wait they arent really connecting the movies so a coherent plot isnt needed i loved lockdown though and kelsey grammer is great...loved the actors and action i just want a somewhat coherent plot that at least connnects to the other movies....ie like the avengers and they couldve at least said spike was dead or something

    1. would you also like someone to explain to you how one plus one equals two?

  10. As far as the plot goes it is pretty easy to understand, after the battle of Chicago elements of the US government have decided it would be better exterminate all aliens on the planet, not just decepticons, in order to find and hunt down the remaining transformers they enlist the help of the alien bounty hunter "Lockdown". All the while the defense department and intelligence agencies want to reverse engineer the transformers for military and technological superiority. The guy in charge of these black ops to hunt down the transformers collaborates with heads of industry to reverse engnieer the transformers as well as profit massively from it, this happens today all the time it is known as the "military industrial" complex. The Autobots are extremely resentful of their human betrayal and dare I say have a little bloodlust on their hands. This film is much darker in tone and I love it!

  11. as far as the Optimus flying goes, he gets upgraded when he pulls out the sword on the ship. Was it just me or did it seem like Lockdown was also a knight?? He says he "comendeered" (sp) the ship from the other knights and made it his. Like I said earlier, I think there was a lot more to the storyline if you actually paid attention and watched it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I wished there was a little more reasoning for Prime becoming a knight. But after seeing How Megs used humans to upgrade himself to Galvatron it was definitely a cool perk like 10:45 AM said and these two foes have never been more bad ass, bring on TRANSFORMERS 5. And like just about everyone else has said LOCKDOWN was totally badass we have consensus there for sure.

  13. as far as the plot goes i got the human part of it that made sense...but the whole prime being a knight...megatron still being a wussy he has been that way from revenge of the fallen.....and only using the dinobots for 10 mins really ugh

  14. critics have hated most of bay's movies...he is a good action director and can occasionally pull of some great movies the rock being one of them, transformers is hit and miss for me mainly due to them making them one at a time and not really having a cohesive storyline...i prefer how marvel is doing it..with the avengers and such they tie together nicely but still have storylines that you dont need to watch the others for the most part unless its a direct sequel ie thor 2 or captain america 2..making stuff up as you go along just creates a big mess for me at least plot wise...and i never was fond of transformers prime...so thats probably at least where some of my dissapointment is..i loved the actors in the movie and the human plotline was okay..its in how bay is using the actual transformers that is annoying to me...oh well at least there will be a transformers 5

  17. Yes, his creator will be the Quintesson's, not Quintessens, who from the 1986 Transformers movie and the third season of the TF's, were the makers of all Transformers. Three of them did bring back Prime from the dead as a way to kill all Autobots and regain control of Cybertron but that did not work, please watch Dark Awakenings for that great eps. Then on the Return of Optimus Prime 1 and 2, with the red spores that infected everyone with hate across the galaxy, one Quintesson saved by Sky Lynx brought Optimus Prime back to life and saved the entire universe with the matrix of leadership. The Lockdown character is from Transformers Animated my third favorite TF's tv show after TFs G1 and Beast Wars, who was a bounty hunter and who when paid well would do anything and had no allegiance to anyone except himself. Great character in TF animated, both him and Ratchet. The 4th TF movie had the best story line after the first TF's movie but it did start to lag off with the fight scene in China, but up to that point time did fly by for me personally. I agree the Dinobots being in the last 10 min was disappointment and I hope they return in the next one since they are somewhere in China waiting to be called on for help by Optimus. I also agree, calling him Bulkhead was the correct name than Hound, I loved John Goodman as his voice but that was not Autobot Hound, but then again Bay has changed things around and sometimes does not follow the G1 TF show. I enjoyed the story of why they now had Galvatron and I think it worked great for this movie. As we all know Unicron in the 1986 TF the movie altered Megatron to become Galvatron but having humans do it and in the image of Optimus Prime was great. Except for those real transformers fans, if you saw TF's Animated, the story plot came from there. Megatron after being destroyed by a young Optimus Prime working a commercial shuttle, had his body destroyed except for Megatron's head. The head crashed on Earth where a young scientist who would become Dr. Sumdac used Megatron head to reverse engineer all of his inventions and technology making him very famous and rich. It was at the end of the 1st season that Megatron had befriended Dr. Sumdac and told him he needed a body so he would be able to fight for good, basically tricked him, and created a very cool body with a great helicopter transformation for Megatron. That was a great plot twist and so was Galvatron since he was using the humans rather than they thinking they were in controlled. I do not know how Bay will use Prime floating/flying through the in universe, maybe Sky Lynx will be in the 5 movie or Omega Supreme but hopefully Bay and others will fill in the blanks as to the Quintesson being in the movie and maybe just maybe bringing Unicron in the 6th and final movie of this franchise? Overall, great story and I thought Mark Wahlberg character as a father and friend was very important to showing Optimus that as humans we make mistake all the time but we learn from those mistakes and become better ourselves and society, which is what Optimus had felt, as the great leader he is and will always be. Which at the end Optimus will be the one to protect everyone in the Universe again and make the great sacrifice for the greater good of everyone. Only time will tell.

    2. Lol- you to correct someone's spelling yet you use the possessive form of the name Quintesson with an 's when there should be no apostrophe because it is plural, not possessive.

    3. Ketchup or Catsup, at least it is the Quintesson, with there being three of them who made all transformers.

  18. I just didn't like the fact that Dino, Sideswipe, topspin, roadbuster, and wheelie disappeared.Yeah I gave the thought that lockdown killed them but it wasn't seen or mentioned, so to me they just disappeared like Jolt, and the twins. That was was the only down part for me more autobots gone for no reason!!.But other then that the movie was great l actually do think it's better then it's predecessors.I absolutely loved the dinobots they are frikin awesome!!!But I do think they'll join the fight in transformers 5.I also do think the Quintesson's are the ones that wanted optimus and they'll also be in Transformers 5.I'm hoping they can introduce Primus and Unicron and have them be the ones who started the whole battle between the Autobots and Decepticons and they can be the one's who finish it!!,By having a awesome space battle.Which I know their both planet sized, so they should have them transformer into Grimlock sized transformers, so the rest of the autobots and Decepticons can join the fight!!!

    1. It really depends which version of the Transformers universe one follows. One does have Primus and Unicron being the first transformers planets, even Primus rises all the fallen Autobots as they are near extinction and Cybertron is reborn. Other has Unicron (made of matter) and Primacron (made of energy) as mentioned in the TFs G1 eps Day of the Primitive, which had great animation drawing and coloring for that series. Finally the Quints or Quintesson's who made all Transformers for their own business and pleasure, as they would have transformers in Gladiator format fight to the death for their amusement until all Transformers rose up and pushed them off planet Cybertron. With peace settled the factions split into creating the builders and peacemakers Autobots and the military and power hungered Decepticons who started the next war that lasted Eons in what we know as the Transformers. Time will tell which direction Bay and Paramount take for Transformers 5 and 6.

      Delete
    2. which is my problem right there they should already have a direction to go but for some reason bay doesnt seem to have the ability or desire to make a movie series he wants to make them up as he goes along...ie the dissapearance of certain autobots without explanation ect ect ect...the fallen never being mentioned again.....i can go on and on.....

    3. I agree, there should have been a specific reference to the loss of the previous autobots. Instead of seeing Leadfoot killed we should have seen Skids and Mudflap destroyed. Even in Dark of the Moon, there was reference to Mikaela not being present. New trilogy or not, how do you not make reference to Sam and the witwicky legacy.

  20. Holyshit I didn't even know that!!I did grow with the G1 series but of course through reruns on weekdays I would watch the episode's and see some robots which five heads.I never thought they where important I only cared about the Autobots and Decepticons but as it turns out now I know they are the Quintensson!!they looked weired so I didn't like them. But thanks for the background story really appreciate it.Now I have some awareness of who they are.I also just read they have connections to Unicron and Primus so they can introduced in transformers 5 so I'm keeping high hopes for them in the film franchise. Also it would be awesome to see all the autobots that died in the films fight side by side in a final epic battle, but I doubt Micheal Bay would do that.

  21. We need a new director and new story writers. Bay has just done one too many of these. My head was spinning by the last hour. Too much goin on. Could have been two separate movies. I like parts of it, but overall, its was crazy. I am 41 and have loved transformers since I was 10. Optimus was great. He always is. The other Autobots other than Ratchet were terrible. Even Bee was not himself. Too over the top. I like the whole Galvatron from Megs head like the old cartoon series. Not being a hater, just disappointed....

  22. Yeah I get what you mean, but Michael Bay wants to make transformers movie different from G1. He wants to build a new story of the transformers world. To appeal the minds of hard core Movie fans and some what G1 fans.Im 19 I grew up with transformers through reruns I love the cartoons still to this day, But your right we do need a new director that can take over transformers 5 and 6. But we can't have the story go completely G1 something's do have to be different,to make the story better. But i hope hot rod finally gets introduced.I'm hoping Unicron and Primus get introduced.I think Bumblebee should die already he's gotten to much screen time,I thought It sucked what happened to ratchet though, saddes death ever!I want to see prowl in the movie and a female autobot or female deception.I hate that people get posses off that optimus prime gets to much attention,But for crying out loud!!He's the frikin leader of the autobots! The only thing I disliked is that most of the autobots disappeared in the beginning of the film.

The only thing I do keep talking about that seems too big until we find the right stories for it -- or the way to make it make sense -- is the Unicron character from the mythology, who is a planet-size Transformers. It's not that it's too big, just that it'll be onscreen whenever we figure out how to make it visually interesting and amazing.

    1. With what ever you guys choose I hope the movie turns out great!!oh and you should make Unicron the one who made the Fallen turn against the seven primes.that'll go great with ROTF.

    2. Oh and no more huge battles on earth unless their small autobot missions where they have to stop decepticons threats. you should introduce Primus and Unicron in Transformers 5 and in Transformers 6 the battle takes place between the two.I don't know if you read my other comments, but you should have Unicron be the one responsible for starting the Decepticons battle on cybertron and Primus could be the one to unite the freedom fighters witch are the Autobots. Then in transformers 5 the autobots battle Unicron, he blows up and all that's left is his head(like G1)Then in Transformers 6 Unicron returns for vengeance to destroy the Autobots and cybertron.Unicron can return Knight sized (as in the dinobots)Then the fight can be on cybertron because thiers still chance to rebuild their damaged planet. Then Primus can also be Knight sized so then the Autobots and Decepticons can join the fight. But cybertron is in danger because Unicron is going to destroy both the Autobots and cybertron so optimus prime must unlock Primus with the Matrix of leadership because only the Matrix within Primus can defeat Unicron once and for all.The ones who began the war between the Autobots and Decepticons finish it in an epic battle.
