New Transformers: Age of Extinction Footage from Samsung Product Launch

At part of an agreement with Samsung, Transformers is part of the promotional campaign for their new line of Curved Ultra HDTVs. In the United Kingdom, the product was introduced to the press using footage from all four movies. The key video to pay attention too is the first one, specifically at the 2:45 mark when the word "Prepare" appears. Until then its all footage from the first three movies or the 4th movie trailers. After that it is a series of very quick cuts that shows a bunch of new scenes and explosions from Transformers: Age of Extinction. Make sure to toggle the gear icon to 720p so can get the most detail. While it seems like a 30 second TV spot, at various times the bank of 7 HDTVs are displaying different moments from the film at the same time. The second video is when the product was introduced but people get in the way before the new stuff is shown.

  3. @Anonymous 4/20/2014 12:15 PM: either it's a good thing or they are having some serious production issues... The CGI on the Transformers4 trailers so far has been far behind that of Pacific Rim which it's still the best CGI by ILM ever. We will see if Michael Bay can manage to release this Transformers4 movie with the CGI by ILM as polished as that on Pacific Rim.

    1. there is not going on the post production process. Yes the cgi on the trailer may not look good but that was just a trailer. They always go back and do more work on the same scenes. This delay for a new trailer or more new footage is nothing new. transformers 2 and 3 both released the second trailer by the end of april so be patient. My guess we will get a new trailer when spiderman comes out. I also have a feeling that in imax they will show the first 3d trailer

    2. I really don't see the hype behind Pacific Rim's CGI. It looked no different from Dark of the Moon. People have to understand the movie is full of night scenes and CGI always look better at night. Go back and look at all the CGI of the Transformers at night and you will see a major difference. It's beautiful especially the scene with Optimus and Sentinel in DC at night fighting and talking by the monuments. Pacific Rim's CGI had flaws when it came to daylight robot action. That's why you didn't see a lot of it.

    3. I think the VFX in Pacific Rim is great but I don't think of it as being better than the work in ROTF or DOTM. It's a different kind of VFX...Pacific Rim was shot almost entirely in a studio. Its action set pieces feature CGI backgrounds (they weren’t able to film in Hong Kong so they relied on thousands of still photos to recreate it digitally). The overwhelming majority of transformers action has been filmed on location in places like Detroit, LA, Chicago and Hong Kong. The jeagers and the kaiju have few reflective surfaces; while each transformer has hundreds of reflective surfaces.

    4. You have to consider that it takes weeks to put a trailer together, so the footage you see in trailers can be weeks old, even months old CGI.

    5. the majority of CGI in DOTM was awful...

    6. No it wasn't. It was some of the most detailed and clean work that they have done.

  5. The FX work on the last three films have been tweaked until literally days before each movie's premiere.

  6. http://www.hasbro.com/transformers/en_US/ The toy page has been updated. Includes also bios of all main robots of the film (except Strafe's). Galvatron and Stinger were mentioned as human-made as we already knew but Galvatron somewhat of confirmed to become new Decepticon leader. The origin of the Dinobots is still unclear. They are however said to have fought many fights in many different places in the entire universe.

  8. Boardmembers Tunakaan and Barimprime over at TFW2005 spotted some incredible shots in the first video that are hard to spot; At roughly 1-2 seconds in to the video on the screen to the far left is a helicopter which is jumping from off a cliff and transforming/transforming & landing on the cliff. Other boardmembers at TFW seem to think that this could be Drift/Deadlock before he joins the autobots.

Another incredible shot that you won't notice at first and is hard to notice; also at 1.2 seconds in to the video on the second screen from the right you can clearly see Hound....

He appears to be shooting upwards at something, and boardmembers at TFW think that he could be shooting at the chopper/Drift

  11. Still no new footage, not even a little bit of tiny winy news. I like it! I am getting excited ( and a bit frustrated though). I want to see some new footage but at the same time i don't want to get spoiled by too much information haha. The other 3 movies gave away too much before the movie came out.
