Yesterday I mentioned that filming was done Front Street involving Bumblebee, a green car and an orange car. Thanks to Aeriobot24, he found the blog eGM CarTech which has photos of the three. Update: The photos on the blog came from Jalopnik via their readers. As the photos below show, the green car is the Chevy Beat from the Smithsonian and the orange or red car is the Chevy Trax concept car.
At this point I am wondering when the Chevy Groove will pop up. I find it probable that the Trax is another Transformer, name unknown. Also I am starting to wonder if this isn't what "The Twins" might become since the green ice cream truck hasn't made any additional appearances or maybe part of a group of TFs similar to the "Seekers" theme for Starscream's group.
I went ahead and updated the TF Cheat Sheet to reflect this new potential Autobot.
i could see these being 'the twins'. they look somewhat similar, both by chevy, they even have the same rims.

ReplyDeleteaeriobot24: If those are minicons, wouldn't they be alot smaller, much like the size of the RC truck at the Smithsonian shoot? That's how I remember minicons to be, hence the term, "mini".

ReplyDeleteI have a theory on the two small cars trailing Bumblebee. Here's a few facts:
ReplyDeleteA)Both the ice cream truck and these 2 Chevy cars are referred to as THE TWINS;
B)Bumblebee, along with the green Chevy Beat (and maybe the Chevy Trax) were pictured outside the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum;
C)The call sheet said something about Bumblebee and the Twins(in ice cream truck form) pulling up outside, and Sam, Mikaela, and Simmons getting out, and sneaking inside, as well as the Ice Cream Truck and Bumblebee being in the Chinese village scene.
My guess is that the Twins are noneother than SIDESWIPE and SUNSTREAKER, and that: D)the ice cream truck was a temporary alt-mode so that they could fit in in the Chinese village, and that E)they must have scanned another
alt-mode (the Chevy Beat and Chevy Trax)after the Chinese village scene. I mean, weren't Sideswipe and Sunstreaker the only 2 transformers with that, "The Twins" moniker?
I'm willing to bet that that is what happens, as the war between the Autobots and Decepticons has intensified, and therefore, it is pretty logical that they'd be willing to scan whatever alt-modes they can, to get their respective jobs done. We'll see come next June.
To piggyback off the last anonymous comment (as I made that one, too) I did some research online and found out that 7 years ago, Audi-VW bought Lamborghini.

Well, I wish (and I KNOW this is wishful thinking) that Sideswipe and Sunstreaker had kept their Lamborghini alt-modes, and that whole thing about VW not wanting to be affiliated with war machines was a PR ploy used during the first film, since Bay caught much hell for turning Bumblebee from a VW Bug into a Camaro. In other words, If Bay WANTED TO, he still could have used Lamborghini, especially since there's an Audi R8in the Chinese village scene(it was on the call sheet). I'm making up a custom fictitious Female Autobot named METALPEDAL whose alt-mode is that bada$$ Lamborghini Concept S with the cockpit windshield.

ReplyDeleteTo the anonymous with the SW and SS theory, something makes me doubt that. Why would it be them? That whole thing is an extremely huge stretch. Why not, as I believe, the Throttlebots? Though the original Throttlebots had different altmodes, they followed the same parts layout, and this seriously screams "Throttlebots" to me, as Goldbug used to be Bumblebee and Classics Bumblebee's altmode was freakishly close to these things. Either these guys are the Throttlebots, or the TFs who shared Bumblebee's G1 base form. The white one could be Bug Bite or Searchlight, the red and black one would be Cliffjumper or Chase, the green one could be Rollbar, the orange one could be Wideload, and, for lack of a light blue one, the black one could be Freeway.
