Eye In Sky View of TF Explosion
Thanks to Ryan who found the below video of an eye in the sky view of the explosion on Shoreline Drive. If pay close attention, you can see that debris went everywhere and a flipping car across the median nearly took out the camera car. If notice, its a little higher and to the right of the footage shot by FMD805 (the third video).

Hahaha, You can hear car alarms going off...
ReplyDeletethe price of production just went up a few K. lol.
I hope those people have good insurance...
Imagine THAT claim... 'Yah, My car was destroyed by the Transformers...'
yeah, the car alarms were set off by the noise and shockwave of the explosion, it does not mean the cars were themselves damaged. Try dropping a phonebook next to a car with an alarm and you'll see what happens. :)~
ReplyDeleteI took this video - we were on the 19th floor of a building on Seaside Way. It didn't seem like any (unplanned) cars were harmed, but the one that flipped over the barricade looked like it slammed into the underside of the bridge, just after nearly taking out the camera guy who was zooming toward the explosion then veered off to the right. They were cleaning up the freeway well into the afternoon of the following day, though they'd originally said it would reopen in the morning.
ReplyDeleteWe saw them come to take away the piece of equipment that flew over the bridge (and director + crew who were standing on it) and landed in some palm trees in front of the parking garage where many of other videos were taken from. Apparently it was a 500-pound mortar launch tube. It took 5 guys and a tailgate lift to move it.
