Transformers 2 Wrap Party

Turns out that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen officially wrapped with a wrap party held on November 15th at the Opera Lounge in Hollywood, CA. Below are two brief descriptions of the party.

From The Pop Republic:
Tyrese, attending the Wrap Party for Transformers 2 at Hollywood’s Opera Lounge on Saturday, November 15, 2008. He was super friendly, taking pictures with party guests beside a life-sized replica of a Transformer. So cool.

Transformers 2 Director Michael Bay was a huge Teddy Bear, laughing and joking with everyone. He posed for a ton of pix with Crew Members and their families. He also spent the better part of an hour talking to a dozen Marines, complementing them for their service to the US.
From Skulboy Blogversation:
After working for 4 months as a sculptor on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, I got an invite to the Wrap Party, so I Akiko and I headed out to Hollywood last night to party down with the cast and crew.

We don't get out all that much so it was fun hanging out at a hip club with an open bar, excellent food and a burlesque trio shaking things up for a few tunes. The highlight however was Michael Bay himself presenting a full length trailer that no one has seen yet as a thanks for all the hard work the crew put in to make the film. In true Bay fashion, the trailer had plenty of Armed Forces presence, returning stars and above all else, tons of stuff getting blowed up. We're talking some serious explosions here. Whoa.
Great time LA style.
Now the above mentions a trailer but according to TF2 writer Roberto Orci, "It wasn't a trailer. Just select footage" so sadly to early to assume a trailer is in the can just waiting for a premiere date (dang). There is also a slideshow here but not sure if it’s from the party or what.

Update: From the comments is the suggestion that the trailer will premiere with the The Day the Earth Stood Still which comes out December 12th. Of course this is unconfirmed but as good as any other theory. For the month of December either Earth or Benjamin Button seem like the only "A-list" movies coming out and Button isn't the right audience to me for a TF trailer. Now there is no guarantee a trailer is coming out this year at all but that just strikes me as unlikely. The goal is to start the buzz sooner rather then later and holiday movies are a great time to do that.

  1. Okay , it's a wrap!! Now the true question is when will the Trailer be presented and with what movie will itt be attached?? My guess is that it might possibly be released with "The Day the Earth Stood Still" in December, just enough to get the fever pitch running for Christmas sales of the toys.
    Have a safe Holiday season

  2. I liked the cool slideshow! It reminds me of my own company's annual slideshow when all the employees get together and we have a party celebrating another product roll-out.

Looks like there's plenty of females there, most likely part of the art department. I remember seeing some of them when they introduced themselves to me at SDCC.

  3. Yeah Baby!!

It was a blast. We all talked about the next movie.(I know it's not slated yet, but we all know it will be made. MB even says so.)
Hint; our second movie doesn't close the door to the overall TF story.

Awesome. I see my picture on there. Major cool.

I made some comments from a few post before and I hope all of you saw that they turned out ture.

And again, our trailer will be with TDTESS. But as mentioned before (and some of us at the party agreed) it's going to be a tease. Meaning, no real juice until after the new year.
My buddies and I didn't see the clip that was shown. It's nothing more that some juiced up dailies.
But our guys in post production say that everything looks good.

And, I showed a picture of the "soundwave" pic that was posted on here....my guy smiled and asked me where I got that!

So good work to you guys.

Most of us have no idea what they will look like.

I will be back on here after TDTESS premiers. Get ya popcorn ready!

    TF2 graffers rule!!

From your knowledge of the inner workings of these movies, do you feel that there's a desire to release a series of quality films and then quit when there's no more story to tell, or does Paramount just see the franchise as a total cashcow they plan on driving into the ground Star Trek-style?

Because the last thing I want to see is a direct-to-DVD Transformers 6 :(

  17. Good pic of a satellite mode, and the head looks like a Bayformer. Just wonder if in the movie the eyepiece will retract like Optimus' mouthplate. Only time will tell.

Well no shit. Star Trek comes out in May, so I would hope that there would be a trailer released by then for a movie that comes out ONE MONTH LATER

  20. just thought of something, soundwave and arcee both were late scratches from the first TF. they still made acree as a toy, maybe this is just an unrealesed version of the first soundwave

  22. Not putting it on Twilight was a marketing failure.

The theaters are STILL sold out, and packed out for that movie!

Not only girls, either. There were lots of (obviously strait) guys there with their girlfriends.

Plus, the a lot of girls there were likely to be into the Transformers, anyway.

I was bursting with excitement, hoping to see that Trailer... :'(

At least I had a fantastic movie to watch to make up for my little disappointment.
