Skids Bio Revealed

When is G1 Wheelie probably not going to be Wheelie? When he is Skids judging by the back of the card bio on the character from TF08.net.
Because he is slightly less hyperactive than his brother MUDFLAP, AUTOBOT SKIDS has always thought of himself as “the smart one.” He likes to point this out at every opportunity. While MUDFLAP zips around like a maniac, AUTOBOT SKIDS prefers to impress his superiors among the AUTOBOT high command by behaving in a way he thinks of as mature, which usually involves talking nonstop about anything that occurs to him.
Yeah, more I see and read about Mudflap and Skids, the more concerned I become. With these two characters, how much we like them will rely nearly 100% on the voice work so can't wait until those casting notes are revealed. Thanks to Chris for the information.

  1. I agree completely, after reading that, I got a little nervous to how annoying these two may actually be. Will it be Laurel and Hardy-ish? 3 Stooge like but only two? Maybe like Tucker-Chan? Who knows but if voiced correctly, it could be what they are intended for, comedy relief. I have nothing against comedy relief in a movie but to what extent? So far, their personalities bring me little concern but a worry does linger.

  10. I know we can't like all of the Autobots, but come on...it looks like Ironhide punched the poor green bot and Ratchet forgot to fix him.

Here's wishing for amazing voice actors. Would love to see Susan Blu as Arcee again.

  14. The more I see of the twins toys the more I like them. The heads put me off initially but they're growing on me, especially Mudflaps.

  16. man if they really wanted to do the whole autobot brother thing; they should have done sideswipe and sunstreaker.

  17. darn. I feel like I hate skids and mudflap already. Two reasons - they look fucking ugly and their characters have the potential to be very very annoying. Why couldn't they have put some other autobots in instead of them(more formidable fighters, I'd say) or at least make their faces look normal.

  18. please oh please dont let them be 2 Jarjar binks like autobots, that would totally suck. Dont get me wrong, it totally dig the goofy charater type, and some comedy relief is definetly needed on every version of the transformers sagas,i mean when iron hide said the thing about the guns on the first one... that one cracked me up. And i can totally put up with some stupidity, just imagine that i love characters like Cosmo(fairy godparents), Patrick(spongebob) and GIR(invader zim) but the Jarjar Binks type of character makes me just wish he gets killed slowlly and painfully... WROST CHARACTER EVER!!!

  19. I'd salute the twins if they end up dying in the movie sacrificing their lives ala Jazz by taking on the big guys... either Devastator or the Fallen on their own.

  20. I also am not getting a good feeling about these two new "Twins". The Laurel and Hardy comparison is one that came to my mind (didn't think anyone remembered those two comedians), the JarJar Binks one is another, and the "retarded gremlin" is another, as well as Jim Carrey and the other guy that was in "Dumb and Dumber".

Plain and simple, Skids and Mudflap are IRREFUTABLY FUGLY!!!!! Every time I see these two Autobots' heads, I keep hearing, "Meesa thinka yousa" (quoting JarJar), or I keep thinking back to those gremlins: the evil ones like Stripe that turned an ugly wrinkled green, after water was poured on them. I know that things change, but goddamn! Would have preferred a new Sideswipe WITH SUNSTREAKER: that's the kinda Transformers Twins I like.

The comment Bay made about his "trademark humor" made me cringe, as well as the incongruent comment about, "safe enough for Moms to take their kids out to the movies". I'm sorry - you mean to tell me with all the carnage (robot and human) that's implied to go on with the trailers, that this is kid-friendly? Give me a #@$%&*! break!!!!

I really am trying to be optimistic, but things like this, and even the fact that Bay's company Platinum Dunes, is remaking all these horror classics (Friday the 13th, Amityville Horror, Casting Slingblade as Freddy Kreuger in the new Nightmare on Elm Street [WTF?!!!!], and even remaking Poltergeist [WTF????!!!!!]), is making my negative suspicion weigh tons.

I think Bay should stick to action (that's his forte), because it doesn't seem that he knows enough about suspense and buildup to PROPERLY sustain a horror flick (in his Amityville remake, the opening montage was cool, but after that, there was a damn jump scare every other minute, with not much buildup, suspense or development), or to completely develop the other elements of film storytelling.
