It seems that Michael Bay just can't quit Linkin Park as the band seems to have been tapped to contribute a song and possible more for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. According to a source that wishes to remain anonymous, Bay chose "Burning In The Skies" from their current album A Thousand Suns for the movie's soundtrack. As a result instead of Burning as their next single it will now be "Iridescent".
While Linkin Park's involvement has not been officially confirmed, it would not be a surprising move considering the band's relationship with the franchise, previously releasing "What I've Done" for Transformers and "New Divide" for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Chords from those singles were also incorporated into the score of the films. Chances are a music video is also in the works that will use Dark of the Moon footage and ideas. A sample of Burning In The Skies can be found at Amazon or full album samples here.

I've been wondering if LP was going to be involved this time around. I'm a big Linkin Park fan and a fan of the new album, but perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to go with different band to do a song for Dark of the Moon. If proven to be true, I look forward to seeing how Burning In The Skies and Iridescent fit into the movie
ReplyDeleteHm, makes sense on several angles except one. "The Catalyst" is a much better song. "Burning in the Skies" is okay, but not as good, IMHO.
ReplyDeleteHow shocking!
ReplyDelete*not!*
I honestly still don't get what the hype about Linkin Park is all about. I just don't. :/
That's awesome!!! I love Linkin Park and love What I've Done and New Divine!!! Especially New Divine sounds awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteBut I don't like the new album at all, it's way too soft. I only like Blackout. But nothing fits Transformers imo.
Michael Bay can't even select the right songs for the movie anymore or he doesn't care. Out of the last Linkin Park tracks he selected that that just doesn't fit the movie.
ReplyDeleteAlso it really seems that the Transformers franchise is dead.. they can't pay Linkin Park to write some new songs for the movie? Really?
Bay and Spielberg don't care about this franchise anymore.
Transformers3 is going to fail. Lazy sloppy work.
@Anonymous: you know, "According to an anonymous source" - that means that this news is just a rumor, like the rumor that arnold schwarzenegger has a cameo appereance in this movie.
ReplyDeleteLinkin Park and My Chemical Romance are my two all-time fave bands. I have been an LP fan since I was 13. I think that it would be cooler if they did an original song just for the TF3 soundtrack.
ReplyDelete@Martinus Prime
ReplyDeletethe name was new devide, not new devine
wtf? and @NHLfan
when was ther ever a rumor the terminator was going to be in the movie(i don't mean the character, just easier to call Arnold that)
I think robot boy would be a better song because it sounds more heroic
ReplyDelete@Ghjklbnm:
ReplyDeleteI know dude, just a typo fault. I didn't even saw that.
Take this from me, they will come with a new soundtrack for TF3
creo que el mejor sonido es waiting for the end sin duda
ReplyDelete"A thousand suns" is an excellent album,I like linkin park a lot, and ats is the best album for me.
ReplyDeleteI think "wretches and kings" could be a good choice to T3.
No source means no credibility.
ReplyDeleteThe source is credible. The person just wanted to be anonymous but they are in a position to have access to information that others may not. I changed the post a touch to reflect that.
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt LP would choose to stay involved with the franchise for longer than they already
ReplyDeletehave. That's just not like them ... ;"
Great chance to win Linkin Park tickets if ure interested :) http://bit.ly/ibEE61
ReplyDeleteLast Transformers movie so might aswell have Linkin Park to finish the trilogy with their song
ReplyDeleteburning in the sky is a good choice for the third part! I love that song and I'm very fan of tranformers, so ... in my opinion ... burning in the sky must be the single tranformers 3! :)
ReplyDeleteLP is my all time favorite band, they have been with the Transformers franchise from the very beginning.
ReplyDeleteI believe that LP should make an original song for the TF3 sound track!
In my opinion, "The Catalyst" is the best song in A Thousand Suns album. Burning in the sky is not good.
ReplyDeleteI really love "When They Come for Me".. and i can deff see "Burning In The Skies" at the end of the film when the credits are rolling but not in the actual movie..im a big fan of LP and actually won tickets to see them perform in DC (which sadly got canceled)... but its good to see that they are sticking with the Franchise..
ReplyDeleteLinkin Park forever!!!
ReplyDeleteI think "When They Come For Me" would fit, too. But I LOVE Iridescent. ;) Nice choice for Transformers.
Linkin Park all the way man. The Transformers Francie is well suited with Linkin Park sound track. I don't want any of the song from their last album. I want to hear some more.
ReplyDeleteI want them to make whole new song for TF3 itself. like they did for TF ROTF. Even the 'what I've done' was picked from M2M album.
I want the whole new song to be made be them.
I think tf3 should choose wretches and kings for this one what ive done and new devide were both heavier songs so if they choose iredescent they would be breaking the pattern
ReplyDeleteMaybe they should just make a new song!!

wtf? and @NHLfan
lol.....New Devine, New Devide...... Its SPELLED D-I-V-I-D-E
I love LP..
ReplyDeletelinkin park is great an i think they should give chance to brad and mike to come with new colaboration as such in their new album brad has not played to much of metal so this would be a nice chance for him also for lp's new sountrack
ReplyDeleteLinkin park n transformers
ReplyDeleteis a very interesting collaboration,, hahaha
I swear, I can not wait to see the movie Transformers
