Michael Bay Interview on IESB

IESB.net has posted a video interview with Transformers director Michael Bay. The highlights:

- Transformers finished shooting last night (10/5/06)
- No decision yet if Frank Welker will play Megatron
- The CGI effects will shows "thousands of moving parts when the robots transform"
- Bay clearly doesn't like the boxy design of the original Transformers, a comment on the critics of the leaked designs.
- Bay asked what would the interviewer like to see and like many, couldn't articulate what she wanted.
- Bay didn't want to do a toy movie, wanted it grounded in reality.
- "Giant Fucking Robots Are Coming" T-shirts maybe released on Bay's site with proceeds going to charity.

  1. Are you sure it finished shooting? I am a Navy Sailor aboard USS Shoup and We are supposed to have the Transformers Crew aboard tomorrow to shoot the final scene.

  2. I was just repeating what Michael Bay said in the live interview. Its possible he means the actors are done shooting, or first unit is done. They could still be doing pick-ups and second unit work. No telling really. If the crew does come on board, can you write up a report and send it to me? I will be happy to post and give credit, just include a name you want me to use (full, a shorthand, up to you) and if you get pics, love to have those to.

    Thanks.
