Trailer Up In The UK; US Side Up At Noon Eastern

Today is the online premiere of the Transformers Teaser Trailer II. The big screen premier is this Friday with "Night at the Museum". Based on the countdown clock on the Yahoo! Movies site, the US premiere of the second Transformers Teaser trailer will appear at noon eastern. But why wait.

UK Release - Available Now
US Release - Available at Noon

Having seen it definitely has the Bay things go boom signature and its does the job of what a teaser trailer is supposed to do - tease. Big improvement over the previous teaser. You get a bit here, a second there, basically enough to whet the appetite but not satisfy. Based on what saw though, the leaked images, script, etc from the past few months is pretty accurate. Might be some minor difference in the final product but the major designs are in place.

Enjoy and be sure to share what you think.

  1. Excellent. The full screen version is great. So far so good. The movie seems like it will be quite dark.

  4. The american accent sometimes sounds REALLY stupid to other english speaking countries.

"the only sound we have, is THIS", said with a somewhat high-pitched inflection on the end, sounds terrible, as does "come out or we'll keeeel yewwww"

    seriously. sort it out.

  5. and another thing: which idiot wrote "it sounds like several sonic booms"? in the script?

sonic MEANS sound, you illiterate moron. "it sounds like several sounds!", or "we heard several sonic booms".

    seriously. sort that out, too.

  7. RE: anon 20/12

you knw what they mean by that phrase, dont be such a nerdy nitpicker.

by the way, 'sonic' DOESNT literally mean 'sound'.

and to the guy going on about the way the yanks talk...get a life, they probably think the same about your accent.

anyway, immense trailer. cant wait to go and see it next summer.

  8. I'll be the third one to compliment the trailer. Very impressive!! I loved when Optimus pulled up in front of Spike(sam) then we got to see him transfrom with Bumblee Bee and Ratchet at his feet. Freakin goose bumps! Also, I never really noticed but the autobots are quite colorful and the decepticons are very gray and metalic colors. Guess we won't be seeing a purple Shockwave.
Over all it looks like it will be a super fun, pop corn movie. And if it wasn't for Peter Cullen voicing Optimus Prime, my doubts would seriosuly be running high and would seriosly hesitate calling this movie a Transformers movie. Now they just need to cast Frank Welker and we'll be all set.

P.S. Did any one else notice that it only said July? Not 7-4-7 as it did in the announcement trailer. Do you think Paramount is already backing away from the July 4th weekend?

  9. Somebody put the trailer on YouTube!!

  10. > you knw what they mean by that phrase, dont be such a nerdy nitpicker.

what they mean is that they heard booms. but what they said was stupid. it was technobabble which they don't understand in a stupid fucked up attempt to sound more sophisticated.

why not equally adopt your argument to the transformers CGI and replace them with cardboard boxes. and if anyone complains, we can direct them to you so you can say "well, you know what they're SUPPOSED to be, so stop being a nerdy nitpicker"

    > by the way, 'sonic' DOESNT literally mean 'sound'.

no, but it PERTAINS to sound.

    > and to the guy going on about the way the yanks talk...get a life, they probably think the same about your accent.

possibly. but they choose voice actors for their sound, yes? so... why not just choose any idiot and tell everyone else to get a life?
not all americans sound stupid. but those phrases in the trailer DO sound pretty fucked up.

after all, why go to all the effort to recruit cullen? because... people... actually care about how people speak, perhaps? or do you tell THOSE people to go get a life too?

  13. I think that they may have moved the release date from July 4th to July 24th. When you go to the link click on the synopsis and it reads:
"Our world will be transformed on July 24 when aliens make Earth their final battleground in 'Transformers'."

Hey Mr. Blogger, check this out for us!!

  14. hey mr. rediculous language nit-picker,

i think you're really exaggerating the whole "sonic boom" and "keeeel yew" lines on the trailer. You must have perfect english, or just really don't like yanks (still mad about the colonies?). I mean seriously, the lady who stated the "sonic" line was a reporter, not a rocket scientist. She was more than likely reporting live on the scene, and most reporters don't have time to consult websters. I'm sure your reporters, from time to time, have used "technobabble which they don't understand in a stupid fucked up attempt to sound more sophisticated."

I'm sure you have too... like this argument, for example. It's not solving ANY problems, but it seems you felt obligated enough to raise a point that, to quote you again, is really a "stupid fucked up attempt to sound more sophisticated."

i rest my case. The trailer looks awesome, I can't wait for the movie, and I'm sure as the next few days unroll we're gonna see a bazillion more leaks.

  15. Seriously... badass. To the one complaining about accents- There are those in the military that come from areas with that accent. Dig the sand outta your snatch or don't watch the movie.

And the "sonic boom" comment is playing semantics. They are referring to what sounded "like" not "is". It's a simile not a direct reference because they don't know what the sounds were exactly. "It sounds like several sounds" could mean, literally, anything and therefore is a stupid idea in this case. Take an english class next time.

But visually it looks amazing. Like was said, not enough shots to get a thorough look, but enough to impress and entice.

The Optimus scene was excellent; transformation was well done. I'm still somewhat unsure about Scorponok. He wouldn't exactly seem to blend in well being so large, but we'll see.

I'm more stoked about the movie than ever. Should definitely be entertaining and would go a long way in redeeming Bay in my eyes... or make me revile him for all time, we'll see.

  16. Wow. Looks better than what I could have thought. Amazing job ILM - can't wait!!

  17. July 24 is probably the UK release, not the American release.

  18. By the way, I really liked the trailer! Looks like it will be totally awesome!

  19. FRIGGIN SWEET!!! I'M SO THERE!!!!! BAD-ASS!!!!

  20. Scroponok blends in so well becomes he comes up from under the sand. Don't you see all the sand flying in the shot with Tyrese and company running?

  21. You are probably right about the 24th being the UK release date because on the UK trailer it reads, "This July", while on the US trailer it reads, "On July 4th".

Are there any other differences between the two trailers?

Also, I noticed when Prime pulls up that the Autobot insignia is on the top point of the grill. Or at least that's what it looks like to me. Maybe it's a decal and you have to warm it up with your thumb to see if he's friend or foe?

  22. > It's a simile not a direct reference because they don't know what the sounds were exactly. "It sounds like several sounds" could mean, literally, anything and therefore is a stupid idea in this case. Take an english class next time.

"it souinds like several sounds" IS stupid because that was EXACTLY my point. thankyou for agreeing with me, without actually realising it, because that's effectively what they're saying. let me show you the very simple transform:

"it sounds like several sonic booms"
well.. a sonic boom is, by definition, a non descriptive booming sound, so gently replacing a non-descriptive "sonic boom" with the equally non-descriptive "sound"
    "it sounds like several sounds"

    see... how... it... sounds... stupid?

they could have said "We HEARD sonic booms", which is fair enough, but saying it SOUNDED like something that WAS A SOUND...?
but you're right:" they're "just a reporter", and this is "just a movie"

  23. "a sonic boom is, by definition, a non descriptive booming sound, so gently replacing a non-descriptive 'sonic boom' with the equally non-descriptive 'sound'"

    Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)
SONIC BOOM – n. A loud noise caused by the shock wave generated by an aircraft moving at supersonic speed.

    American Heritage Dictionary
SONIC BOOM - n. An explosive sound caused by the shock wave preceding an aircraft traveling at or above the speed of sound.

    WordNet
    SONIC BOOM - n.
an explosive sound caused by the shock wave of an airplane traveling faster than the speed of sound; "a sonic boom follows an aircraft as a wake follows a ship"

"Non-descriptive booming sound" my ass. What 1930's, defunct dictionary are you using? It's commonly known that a "sonic boom" is the sound produced from a large object (usually an airplane) crossing the sound barrier's speed threshold.

A sonic boom, by today's defintion above is a unique sound that has its own distinction.

  24. hah, yes, ok, good argument ;-)
they should still say "heard sonic booms", though, for that reason.

    but, tou'che!

  25. loved the Trailer... but... whats up with the bouncing tanks? Notice when the 2 tanks are flying through the air they each hit the ground and bounce like rubber balls...

I like the trailer but that part kills me.. I hope since they have 7 months of post production they can fix things like these happy bouncy tanks.

  26. Great trailer, if Bay can get some emotion to show from the machines then it should be a good film. Ohh and on the point of the Sonic Booms is it not possible that more than one Transformer fell from the sky? Therefore each one would make a seperate sonic boom?

  27. Great trailer! sonic boooooom! That part kills me.
