Lots more of the Voyager class Frozen Megatron figure can be found here for the curious. The robot mode, eh not bad. The vehicle mode, gag me. Its more silly looking then threatening.
why is everyone whinging so much just because he doesn't appear to have an earth form. i think it's kinda cool, reflets his arrogance; "i'm superior to this place so why should i lower myself to such lesser beings?". if he gets here then gets stuckin ice and remaisn froaen from then til up t film, when would have had chance t convert t earth mode. i hope someone on the production team reads these posts and sees that there is at least someONE who appreciates what they've done with the story and megatron laa.. and before anyone starts, yes i AM a die-hard transfan!
it was always my mine gripe, even as a wee child, that how can someone who stands taller than prime transform into something that fits into his bloody glove compartment!!! and soundwave (blaster also), those guys stood taller than most other bots when in robot mode, yet were the smallest of the lot when in alt mode! i also glad prime doesn't have his trailer... where the hel did that go when he ransformers to bot mode, and where did it ome from when he changed back t alt mode?!
anyway, that's it, whinge over. bring on (or should i say 'roll on') july 27th!!
Even more infuriating was that Megatron's size depended on who was going to hold him in gun mode; he could be big enough for another Decepticon to hold him, or small enough to fit in a human hand.
Yeah, the "mass shifting" was always stupid. There's no explanation for it that doesn't create problems.
If you use the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" explanation, that Soundwave and Megatron are simply reducing the amount of empty space in their atoms, that only changes their sizes; their mass remains the same. Not only would a human being not be able to lift Megatron in gun mode, but poor Megatron would likely crush himself under his own weight and break through the floor.
One common explanation among Transfans seems to be the dimension shift theory, that says that Soundwave shifts his extra mass into a pocket of another dimension to reduce his size and mass. There's one *huge* hole in this theory, which can be summed up thusly: "If it were that easy, everyone would be doing it." The ability to shrink would be far *far* more tactically valuable than the art of transforming. Transformers would abandon transforming altogether if they could simply will themselves to the size of a flea and sneak behind enemy lines. This invites the exploitation of too many comic scenarios to count, the exploration of which which, frankly, I don't ever want to see.
