May 17th Final Trailer Online Release Date

Canmag is reporting May 17th is the intended release date of the trailer online, probably at the official website.

The reason for the date? A limited number of theatres will get the trailer to show with Shrek the Third, coming out on May 18th. Apparently Pirates of the Caribbean 3 is the full roll-out release date.

The article:
Here is a very cool Transformers update coming your way for the upcoming trailer. Though Bay's website claims that the trailer will appear in theatres with Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, the report is only half true.

It's coming even earlier than that!

Transformers Trailer When?
We have confirmed with Paramount/DreamWorks that the feature trailer for Transformers is tentatively going to be making it's way online May 17th. Want to see it in theatres? Well, it gets even better.

Shrek the Third will host a new Transformers trailer as well that will be limited to theatres on May 18th.

The trailer will also appear with Pirates of the Caribbean 3 on May 25th (as Bay suggests) and the third weekend of Spider-Man 3.

  1. If we go into Iraq the locals will greet us with flowers, the country will become democratic, and the entire middle east will follow suite. It's so easy.

In the same vain, if we change everything about the Transformers, and give Optimus Prime some kind of fish beak people will just love it.

If they had some brains they would shelve this movie, fix it, and release it next year. That is a huge if. What they will really do is parade the emperor with no clothes through town. Don't criticize you are be abnormal, you'd be the only one, are you crazy can't you see he's wearing clothes even though your eyes tell you something else!

Nobody yet has made a single argument as to why these high budget folks couldn't create a good movie that honored the Transformers. They have made no argument as to why all the Transformers had to be changed.

Yes, in fact I am living in the past. And you people of the future can't make good movies. Kidding.

This is not a bad film, but it's hi-jacked the Transformer name and that is a shame. It's hi-jacked something of great value to a generation or two. They have only slapped a Transformer bumper sticker on their well formulated Hollywood money making machine. It does not look, sound or feel like anything we can all recall.

It's a spit in the collective eye of generations, to have done that. But, some people will do anything for money, or might not even realize what they are doing. At least next money there's Heroes and this Friday SG-1.

  2. Quote from anonymous... " Nobody yet has made a single argument as to why these high budget folks couldn't create a good movie that honored the Transformers. They have made no argument as to why all the Transformers had to be changed."

Actually, anonymous, the transformers had to be changed because of licensing agreements and other legal issues. You cannot paste an autobot logo on a volkswagon and call him bumblebee then just use him in your 140 million dollar movie. Volkswagon would not allow the use of their "product" and "image" in the movie because of its association with violence and that is just one "prime" example, no pun intended of course. As far as living in the past goes well that is your choice and decision of course but there was simply no way of justifying that kind of money to the studios or to the fans only to make it look like another version of the anime film. Live in the past if you must but we hope to see you in the future on July 4th 2007. I will be there.
