TF: The Game: Optimus Prime Revealed
Transformers The Game official website has added some pics that reveal Optimus Prime in robot and truck mode. Keep in mind that the game designers are working directly from the models ILM created for the movie so what you see here is a good, but not exact, representation of what will be in the movie. No indication if this is in game as player graphics or interstitial movie graphics. Click pic for a larger 1014x575 image.

almost looks like the rear wheels on the semi pic are not dual'ies. As Crazy as it sounds this will bother me if they don't put the other tires on the rear 2 axels..

Game designs need to be modified for practical purposes (some of my buddies are game designers). Graphics chips aren't good enough yet to handle the intense calculations and physics models for so-and-so many pixels and polygons to render, so I'm sure they had to deal with whatever "blocks" they could allocate in a relatively cheap graphics memory buffer. That said, for the MOVIE, if you look carefully at the frames in the trailer, Optimus Prime in truck mode indeed does have full dualies (yay!) and in robot mode, you can see his dualies split the outer tire in several pieces and then wrap around each inner tire. Kinda neat.
ReplyDeleteI do agree however, that somehow the game designers could have faked the dualies but eh~ I'll still get the game.
They 'wrap around'? Cool concept, but where did you see that?
