Transformers Is Awesome

I have seen the movie and I declare thee fantastic. I may do a formal review later but suffice it to say the movie does it job and does it well. Its very very entertaining. The transformations are jaw dropping. I can't wait for a sequel with a bigger budget so can have some more Transformer goodness. There are some Bayisms in the movie but they are much fewer and far between, and therefore more effective so its not a negative.

I think that audience word of mouth will carry this movie farther then any other summer film this year. So see the movie. See it with friends, in a crowded theatre with surround sound. Its kind of fun to hear and see reactions for something we had already been a fan of for up to decades now. Bay and company have been vindicated and when they said "wait and see", they where not kidding.

Final note, I sat through the credits and their are only 3 sequences that occur during the credits, none after. The last involves a Transformers. Once see that, free to go unless just like reading the credits.

Update: For the United Kingdom, they have 25 long days and Japan another 30 so the countdown begins again for the UK.

  2. Awesome! It seems that everybody is loving it. I can't wait! Thank you so much for making this blog. I'd enjoyed reading it every single day 7 times a day for the last year...haha. I'd always wanted to feel what star wars fan felt and this is my star wars. Beside other Transformers movies, I'll never feel like this about a movie again.

  3. I just saw the 8pm sneak peek at The Bridge theater in Los Angeles and it was pretty much an awesome night. Transformer fans cheering for everything from Optimus showing up and the classic remark from Megatron about Starscream.

Best part, I leave the theater and theres a crowd of people surrounding someone, it's MICHAEL BAY! The guy did an amazing job and I hoped he appreciated the fans cheering for this movie. Bravo!

  5. Yes, well worth the wait. Action packed, hi tech, with some surprisingly funny moments. Some of the robot dialogue is a little tedious, but otherwise a brilliant adaptation.

  6. Now, Transfans. We must unite and sink that gawdawfl Titanic! Transformers deserves to be the most watched movie of all time. I'm gonna be the "weird aunt" and take my best friend's son to see it. That's two tickets to paradise!

  8. The movie was awesome. I don't want to spoil anything, but there were some veeeeery nitpicky things that I didn't like. Let's just say it has to do with the last time we see Blackout.

I'd also like to thank you for posting this blog. I couldn't have survived the wait without you.

  11. Curious as to what are have planned for this site now that TF is out? Love it if you could keep it going with updates about the DVD and what we can expect and so on and so forth.

Great job. I really looked forward to stopping by and reading all the new information.

Also the movie, was the balls! My wish now is for the DVD they complete all the deleted scence in full CGI. Sometime on DVD's you'll get a deleted scene but it was cut from the movie and because of money and or time you only get the animatic. Please Michael Bay, complete the deleted scenes for the Transformers DVD!! Oh and don't release the movie than two months later release another one with all the goodies. That's bullshit and I hate when companies do that.

  19. I hate to burst the fan buzz bubble, but Transformers was not half as good as it could/should have been. It was very funny, I'll give it that. But I did not pay 8 dollars to see giant robots crack corny jokes. What I expected to see was a kick ass "action" movie with giant robots actually battling it out. What I got was 2 hours of plot building and laughs and about 30 minutes of raw action (which wasn't that great). At times the action sequences were way too fast or the camera was too shaky to really see what was going on. I am not referring to the humans vs. robots scenes when I say this, those weren’t bad. But again, I went to see robots fighting robots. The bottom line is I expected a little more from such a great action film director. I mean how you screw up a movie about giant robots? I must say I blame myself for my disappointment in this movie. I guess I just hyped it up way to much and it fell short of my expectations. Don't get me wrong, it wasn’t a bad movie, but it was NOT the Transformers movie that fans deserved!

And another thing, (SPOLER WARNING) having the little human kid kill Megatron at the end was 100% bull$#!*, and absolutely ruined the ending for me. I sat in the theater for 2 1/2 hours waiting for the final climactic battle between two of the greatest rivals ever created to unfold before my eyes and that's what I got! I wanted to shoot myself in the face when I saw that!

  20. I saw the movie last night in Little Falls, NY and it was by far the best movie I have ever seen! I'd definitely go see it again and I definitely can't wait for the sequel!

  21. I've been a fan since the first episode of the first three-part miniseries. Wow, we've come a long way. I could never have guessed when I was waiting in line to see the original animated movie in '86 that we would all be talking about a live-action TF movie a full two years *after* the original movie takes place.

The movie is amazing. It's a TF movie through and through. The last movie I bothered seeing in theaters more than once was Jurassic Park. I'm definitely going to see this one again.

Many thanks to Bay, Orci, Kurtzman, and the entire production team for a fantastic roller coaster ride.

  23. does anyone know what happened to Barricade? I don't remember seeing him in the final battle at the end.

  24. a few survived and will prob be in part 2 and the movie was hot screw fan buzz guy that was tight it was worth it the freakin idiots thinking the movie was going to be 2d robots on paper need to get a life it was how it should of been for this time and age what did you think was going to happen they down grade to 2d flat designs and make a hit they had to make a movie that everyone would love to see not just fans it would not make enough money if they did that and we would not see no more TF so all these wantabe fans that just only watched season 1 barely need to go get a life watch all seasons all series and then say something worth while instead of all your BALDERDASH!!! (this really is only Directed towards one guy thank you)

  28. The movie was well worth the ticket price. bay, you've really outdone yourself, and IF there IS a sequel (which i believe will and HAS to happen, I CAN'T WAIT!)

    ReplyDelete
  29. ((spoilers))The movie started off pretty good, it jumped right into action which is a plus because you dont have to sit and wait for it to come Bay did a good job with this. A few things that I didnt like about the movie was that for one... even though the action sequences were REALLY GOOD, they were TOO SHORT!! especially the Bonecrusher vs. Optimus Prime fight. Two... Jazz was defeated so easily he barley even got to fight =\. I just wish that the action scenes went on for alittle bit longer... If a sequel comes out, I really hope that they lengthen the sequences. Overall.. KICK ASS MOVIE GO SEE IT!!!

  30. "because barricade defeat by bumblebee, than he can't fight again, his final scene is freeway."

How do you know this? I was wondering the same thing and I've seen it twice so far and I can't figure it out. If he can't fight he shouldn't be able to transform into a car. That's my thought.

    ReplyDelete
  31. barricade have no guns in movie, so he defeat by bumblebee, if you remember, bumblebee over the fight than put away his gun.

i think barricade is puniness in movie setting.

    ReplyDelete
  32. barricade transform into a car and follow bonecrusher to freeway, but he not yet join the war, he is basket case.

  33. Oh, man! Went last night. Had an almost "religious experience". With all the descriptions from foreign audiences, film critics, and the clips, there was enough "fair warning" that the fight sequences weren't gonna be that long. Yeah, Prime got his ass knocked around--a lot. Bumblebee could apply for amnesty because of the extreme torture he took. All I've got to say is DAMN GOOD JOB, Michael Bay.

  34. I really Michael Bay direct the next Transformers if they do one, and hopefully add some Triple Changers (Astrotrain,Blitzswinger, etc.)

  35. Does anybody know what is the name of the upcoming movie that they showed in the trailers before the showed TF, it was about a big xplosion and then the head of the statue of liberty falling on the streets.... ?????

    ReplyDelete
  36. the name of the movie is "Cloverfield" by director JJ Abrams, it was filmed kinda like Blair Witch, will be released on January 18 , 2008, and it's a monster movie (The Parasite) something like godzila lol but in NY

  37. while everybody's screaming about the movie, I'm volunteering myself to voice the other side of things.
I left the movie somewhat dissappointed (a billion bucks of cgi artwork is not enough in my book).

The movie to me felt rushed, like trying to cram a 6 hour story in 2 hours. Some of the characters get an abysmal small amount of screentime and I think I can count the number of lines and screentime of megatron on my fighers without needing extra digits.

There's a load of stuff I want to comment on, but refrain to do so because it would contain huge spoilers and I don't want to spoil the fun.

Also did they kill off any chance for a good sequal or as is popular atm a trilogy? Can't ask this any clearer without spoiling.

anyway it's certainly not a bad action flic, and seeing huge autobots and decepticons using superb effets to blend them seemlessly with camera recorded reality is like a kid's wet dream come true :p
It just left me with a feeling that doesn't quite sit right.
And em I have to say this, Sam was not an asset in the movie to me, especially in the beginning I haven't had anyone on scree been able to annoy me this much, i practically wanted to tear the screen with his stupid antics regarding the girl. I don't mind the addition of this to the movie, I like it, I just wish it was done right and so over the top and the bad acting of the guy playing Sam in those parts make it worse. Just have the boy run with explosions and stuff, he's good at that, do not give him detailed close up character defining screen time again please. (I'm usually not that hard on actors but the engine scene's and so on were really really badly overacted.

    my 2 cents.
