Transformers Movie Primer
"moviepreviewcritic" has posted a primer to prepare Transfans for the changes made to Transformers in the movie from the beloved Generation 1 incarnation. Its actually pretty well done, humorous, and I think will help some get in the proper mindset when seeing the movie. Thanks to Hotrod for the link.

I'm wondering how many here are reading the new comics that preceded this movie? There are changes galore in everything since the late 90's. Simon Furman is the worst "offender" in my book. Yet, somehow, this movie appeals to me. Regardless of the changes. I mean, come on. Peter Cullen could have passed because it is nothing like the original. He's said in interviews not to worry. So, I'm not.
ReplyDeleteThat's true. You will literally beg them to produce the sequel RIGHT NOW. The whole experience is just overwhelming. I just couldn't stop talking about the movie with my friends on the way out of the cinema.
ReplyDeleteOh btw, I didn't actually notice Prime's red flame. That is just ignorable detail. Hugo Weaving does not change Megatron's character because the voice is digitized and he does not speak in a calm attitude like agent Smith. The ending is satisfying (not a cliffhanger like the video states)
Wow, that guy got a bunch of facts wrong...haha.
ReplyDeleteNot bad, but, he was just trying to compare a carton to a live action movie, a movie that was obviously not suppose to be a copy of the 80's, so the core of his review is garbage.
Now, if this was suppose to be a 90% accurate recreation of the 80's, I'm sure this would all be relevant.
I don't think anyone told him that CGI is expensive. Unless he wanted a 30 unrealistic robots running around, instead of 13 amazingly realistic ones.
Now that I think about it, epic failure of a preview review!
P.S. Furman is great.
The whole Transformer movie is light hearted flavor, but when it is a fight scene, they really give a nice blow-by-blow Transformer fights. Though, there are some funny moments with Shia in the movie and I love it like that.
ReplyDeleteThat's it! I want to watch it over and over again.
This guy makes so much sense.
ReplyDelete"They want what's in the box".. he obviously hasn't been reading the Transformers Live Action Movie Blog.. that's the All-Spark.
ReplyDeleteJames Cameron directing TF? That would suck. Big time.
ReplyDeleteThis mini-movie was f***ing stupid and pointless. He can't even get his facts right. Keith David ain't in the movie.
transformers super music video, very cool.

Question: Those whove seen the movie, did the correct Brawn's line? By which I mean, I've read reveiws where Brawn (the tank) appears for the last fight and in cybertronian says "Devastator here." Did they fix that for the American release or is he still Devastator in the movie and brawn as a toy?
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it yet but I've spoken to those who have and yes Brawl is referred to as 'Devastator' in the movie and 'Brawl' (not Brawn) in the toy lines here in the states
ReplyDelete"Only kids cracked out on lucky charms dont notice"
ReplyDeletelol
and I love that "Swearing is the only way to convey your excitement" at the end lol
ReplyDeletesweet!
ReplyDeleteI hope the Trilogy follows my suggestion:
TF 2: Return to Cybertron
Dinobots introduced as well as Constructicons as they battle back to cybertron
TF3: The Darkest Hour
Unicron looms and starts to eat up planets working his way to Cybertron, Meggie and Prime has a final battle, pretty much the 86 movie live action.
Hey man, S7 updated again with a vid as soon as you log in...pretty cool, shows Blackout trashin some stuff (not from the movie I'm sure).
ReplyDeleteSo the robots in transformers are electronic based lifeforms, so why don't we use electro magnetic pulse (EMP) technology to disable them and incapacitate them. we do possess EMP tech so why not use it.
ReplyDeleterobots in transformer are electronics base
