Transformers Animated Premieres Tonight

Just a reminder that Transformers Animated premieres tonight at 8:00PM EST on Cartoon Network in the US. I think the start date in Canada on YTV is January 5th or 6th on YTV but not 100% sure on that.

  1. I thought it was pretty good. I'm glad that they didn't focus too much on the voltron like transformations. Most of the transformations look pretty good. Starscream was bad ass.

  2. It seriously rocked. I really enjoyed Corey Burton's take on Megatron--and Ratchet! It will be repeated on Saturday @ 10:00 am. The regular schedule will begin on January 5th at 10:30 am, and be rebroadcast on January 6th at 11:00 am. (Have to agree, Screamers was a badass.)

  3. The star of the show for me has got to be Ratchet! …Suuure he’s ripping off Kup's old gimmick …but hey that gimmick works! …and it makes he laugh so much… that “old war hero with stories” persona never gets old (Ironically ..hahaha)

you can read my comments of the show on my blog :)

  4. I just finished watching it. I think it's the best Transformers Cartoon series since the original. It had some laugh out loud funny parts and story wasn't too bad either. Less interaction with the humans would be good, but I guess that's always been a part of the Transformers story.

  5. It was mediocre. Saying this is the best Transformers cartoon since G-1 is like being voted valedictorian of summer school.

This version of Prime is terrible. A complete wimp. Starscream is too Spngebobby just like Bulkhead is too Patricky from Spongebob. Blitzwing was just stupid.

I cannot get over how uneven the character designs are. Megatron looks good as well as Prowlu but Prime remains downright hideous.

This wont be on the air long.

  6. I guess unless they come out with a cartoon that is exactly like the G1 cartoon, some people will never be happy.

If you get past the fact that the G1 cartoons hold sentimental value for all of us, they really weren't well produced cartoons.

I think this cartoon and the movie are both great evolutions of the material.

  7. It wasn't supposed to be an "exact match" to the original. It's a "re-telling". The writing team is quite excellent (head writer used to do BW). The Voice Acting is amazing (that they could get of the original guys is testament to the production quality). Susan Blu--who did the Voice Direction for BW--is helming this.

Just give it a chance. (Hate to burst your bubble, but two seasons are already done. CN will loose money by canceling it.) I've seen much worse things that stay on for years! "...like a bad line of code."

  8. No one is really bitching about the story or the premise.

With over 20 years of history they should get the bot designs and voices right and not make them downright bad or stupid.

There is no reason for Prime to look like he does or Bulkhead or Blitzwing to rip off a bad He-Man concept.

  9. Well, guess they're trying to make history instead of repeating it. Personally, I find the new designs refreshingly different. To me the voices fit--especially the old "geezerbot". Been doin' this TF thing since '86. I had more problems with the AEC crap. Let's not forget RiD. The designs are the way they are because they are NEW characters, with a familiar twist. Give it a chance. Honestly, you'll find it growing on you eventually. If you don't, then you'll never be pleased.
