Bay: "not a complete Transformer"

Michael Bay, now home from the first month of Transformers filming, posted on his blog about "Frenzy".
What that picture is - that is not a complete Transformer. We use detailed puppets for effects for sizing and color - the real effects are later completed but the robots are much more complicated.

I will post soon to tell you all about the shoot.

Michael
I keep using "Frenzy" in quotes because it at least invokes a mental image and size that isn't confusing but I seriousily doubt its the same Transformer. A lot of people are theorizing Lazerbeak or Rumble.

  3. That definately has to be laserbeak..it looks like he's trying to peck his way into the windshield. soundwave must make an early appearance in this one. anyone got any info on what his vehicle mode will be?

  4. Well its obvious that the puppet was used for closeups and the CGI enhancement would be that you will be able to see a full body of the character.

  6. Shooting is done at Princeton. Filming for TF2 is now on temporary hiatus in preparation for a potential actors' strike starting this Monday...

  7. I still say it's Ravage. His face evokes cat-like qualities, and he's scratching at the windshield.

  11. NO, it's a BIRD. It has a LONG BEAK type of thing right underneath it's face, and it has a LONG NECK. Also, as Bay said, this is not a complete transformer, so, IF it is Laserbeak, the animators at ILM will have to flesh it out in post.

  12. I'm sorry "anonymous," but I'm going to have to disagree with you. I've looked at that pic and movie MULTIPLE signs, and I'm just not seeing any beak-like characteristics. Have you ever see a panther, couar in the wild? Their necks are huge, and this "thing"'s neck could go either way. He's clawing at the card in "cat-like" fashion, and his face looks like a cat, for real. I'm very persuadable though, so show me why you believe it's Laserbeak.

  13. Based on the avian-like head, I'd say it's Lazerbeak. Just my thoughts...
