Devastator Construction Vehicles Revealed?

O&K/Terex RH400 Mining ExcavatorTFW2005 is reporting that their Transformers 2 inside source has revealed the seven vehicles that are the alt modes of the robots that merge to form Devastator.

O&K/Terex RH400 - Hydrolic Mining Excavator - (red)
Caterpillar 992G - Wheel Loader - (yellow)
Caterpillar 773B - Dump Truck - (green)
Mack Cement Mixer - (silver/white)
Komatsu HD465-7 - Articulated Dump Truck - (red)
Kobelco CK2500 - Truss Crane - (yellow)
Caterpillar D9L - Bulldozer - (beige)

I still remain doubtful that Devastator, much less a 7-part gestalt, is part of the film. As the below representative pictures from Google (not from a TF2 set) of the model types mentioned, the machines are not small and using TF1 as a go buy, I would think each individual robot would be nearly the size of Bonecrusher. Merging the seven would result in probably around a 10 story tall robot. Very cool I have to admit but a bit of a budget buster. As usual I hope my doubts are incorrect and TFW's source is accurate. Thanks to Robert for the heads-up.

  1. Why is there 2 dump trucks? There should only be 1 dump truck and the other be something else. Unless there was 2 dump trucks in the 86 movie.

Some help me figure this out.

  2. No matter what the construction vehicles are if that is in the movie I'll double the amounts I go see this one compared to the first which I saw 5 times in the theater and 50 times in the first 2 months of release (for a bet!)

Gaaah... Look on the list. Do you see TWO dump truck there? No? Then it should be obvious, that this pictures are just so you can see how they will look like. He could even post a 100 photos of this dupm truck, and what, you would assume, that in the movie there will be also 100 dump trucks? Jeez, people, think somethimes it doesn't hurt...

    It's a Liebherr 996 not a O&K.

You might want to do the same because it does say two types of Dump Trucks so before you shove crap down people's throats and think they're wrong, you might want to take your own advice and think. And to answer the dude's question no there wasn't and I wouldn't get too excited i have a feeling it is misinformation to throw us off.

  8. Oh my god please... No.

The last thing this movie needs are the ''constructicons'' or any robots that can merge into one robot.

This is some kind of a cruel joke.

  9. Maybe its missinformation of a fake missinformation of real information. Michael Bay is always 2 steps ahead of us. this is real info disguised as false info so that we think of it has trash info that won't apear in the movie

    p.s. Cofusing aren't I?

  11. I found the list of the Constructicons

    Bonecrusher
    Bulldozer

    Scavenger
    Excavator

    Scrapper
    Front End Loader

    Hook
    Crane Truck

    Long Haul
    Dump Truck

    Mixmaster
    Concrete Mixer

It looks like Bay or the writers wanted 1 more Constructicon

  12. Or maybe one of the dump trucks hasn't been decided upon?

  13. well, one thing's for certain, with all those different colors, Devastator is going to be a fashion NIGHTMARE

  14. More than just a fashion nightmare.

He's MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE.

    ... *ducks* ...

    haha

Let's say Devastator is indeed in the film. You know, 6-7 vehicles construction vehicles with such tremendous perceived weight and articulated motion with weathered exteriors would most definitely push the computing power limits on the CG render server farms.

  15. Hey,Blog guy. The picture of the Komatsu HD465-7 is right, but the description is wrog. An articulated dump truck is hinged in the middle. That is how it steers. Compared to the other type of dump truck that has a solid frame and a steer axle. So right there is some misinformation. Maybe a clue that this is bogus? Also, the size of the described crane and bulldozer are way to big in comparison to the scale of the other vehicles.

Also Blog Guy, did you hear anything about this?? This is also on TFInsider:

"During a Hasbro Italy 2009 Brand Preview it was revealed that Transformers Movie Optimus Prime will Combine with Jetfire in Revenge of the Fallen. This is why Jetfire will be an Autobot, and not a Decepticon as we previously reported."

Why do you say this? Constructicons and other merging robots have been part of most of the Transformers continuities, including Generation 1. Why not in the movie? I think it would be pretty awesome, myself.

Doing headmasters, at some point, might be interesting as well.

  20. Man I am so sick of reading from the younger then 30age crowd bitching about the Transformers. Serious, those that did not grow up with the cartoon. Please go back and watch the origional series, Before the 86 movie. That, will tell you all about G1. G2 started after the 86 movie. The movie did not have every charcter at the time. NOT all of teh 5 Dinobots were in the Movie. only 4 of them were!

You are complaining that the Constructions dont look right?

Dude its G1. NOT beastwars or Armada. I dont KNOW a single person over the age of 28 that even paid attention to Best or Armada or whatever you guys want to call that crap.

For the love of god. Quit reading Wiki for info on back stories, GO WATCH the FREAKING Cartoon if you want to know.

Few things I have to get off my Chest. Yell at me if you will. I dont care.

    1. SKYFIRE-Decepticon turned Autobot! TRUE!!!! NEVER WAS he called Jefire in the Cartoon! NEVER!! JETFIRE was a name change by Hasrbo TOY ONLY!!!!!! Rip off toy from Macross or Robotech( whatever you want to call it.)

    2. 90% of what we have on this forum is a full Assumption on this movie. DONT believe any of it. 10% of what we know is true.

    3. Stop reading Wiki( I Cant stress this enough) Go watch the series from Episode 1. When you get to the 86 Movie. Stop! FYI the Cartoon After the 86 movie was bad! The story sucked and Optimus was gone. Go Buy the 86 movie and watch the exta featurs. THEY have said that kiling Optimus was the a BAD idea! It killed sales and Hasbro Demanded they bring back Optimus, so the brought him back to life, alone with Starscrams Ghost. 2 years later.

What killed the franshise story was the Headmasters, They will even tell you that too. At that point my friends at the age of 13-14. Said this is retarted. FREAKING ALF!! Had Better Ratings then the transformers at that time!
Not long after that the had the golden age of Cybertorn and that was it! Prime( stupid Goldbug) another bad idea for Bumblebee. That was just also retarted, and Hasbro knew it. And the transformers died after that for about 10 years. Then the Beatwars thing came and that was the next stupid move. Problem is it pushed asside all of the G1 and the story for something different. And it had not backbone.

I had to rant, yell at me if you want. But if you going to complain about whats in the movie. Go back and watch the Cartoon. And appreciate the movie a little more.
And be happy M. Bay is making something.

  21. if this is true, this will probably be the most bad-ass thing coming to the big screen. i can imagine the destruction of this monster robot.

  22. I love komatsu construction vehicles! but yeah, the model is right but that's not an articulated dump truck... HM-400 wud be a good example :)

  23. I highly doubt he'll be called Devastator, seeing as that name was already given to the tank in the first movie.

But still, if the gestalt does appear, I hope they add in "PREPARE FOR EXTERMINATION!!!!"

  25. If it is indeed true that Devastator's in the movie, I would imagine after Sam would say something like this:

Sam: (Scanning path of total destruction) Oh my God. This is complete and utter devastation.

    Generic Autobot: "Or."

    Sam: "Or what?

    GA: "DevastatORRRR, not devastation."

Sam: "There's a name for this Decepticon?"

    GA: "It's actually seven Decepticons."

  26. "Yell at me if you will. I dont care. "

Just GTFO you "geewuner" purist, and let more tolerant people do the job. Headmaster was pretty cool (espesialy the Japanise cartoon). BW is one of the MOST fun favorite, most funs like it even more than G1. So why do we talk about G1, and seek reference to it? Nostalgia man, nostalgia...

Oh, and if EVERYTHING after the movie killed Transformers, than how come they are still here, after 25 years...?

  27. BTW, i know that Headmasters is G1, just in case, that someone would want to point this out ;P

  28. to ranger 565...you're a dork

    ReplyDelete
  29. Its 7 Constructicons because they probably figured that after combining them, 6 would make it look disproportional or too small.

If you see 2 dump trucks and 2 cement mixers, that means Michael Bay wants symmetry. Perhaps 2 legs and 2 arms that look somewhat the same.

    ReplyDelete
  30. can someone please tell me bonecrusher will return?
And if he is please let it not be the Bulldozer vehicle..

    ReplyDelete
  31. I agree with Ranger565 on some of his points. It is indeed Skyfire, not Jetfire, and of course a buncha other things relevant to G1 universe. I know because I OWN and LIVED through the original G1 TF days, including the almighty Headmaster of them all FORTRESS MAXIMUS. The entire Headmaster and Powermaster series were all released just before the 1986 TF Movie, but as you should know, the 1986 TF movie went through 2 years of animation production, slower than it takes to produce a toy. Might wanna keep that in mind based on 1986 production times, not 2008.

I also agree that wikis (as valuable as they are) should not be the end-all be-all of references. Wikis are not official and should only be regarded as helpful but open to trustworthy edits (same as IMDB).

    ReplyDelete
  32. "What killed the franshise story was the Headmasters, They will even tell you that too."

I liked the Headmaster toys myself. I wish they had gotten more into the Headmasters in the G1 cartoon, but they ended it there.

And I know they got further with the Headmasters in Japan, but the headmasters there were a bit different from the headmasters in the American cartoon. In the American cartoon, they were actually humans or aliens inside of exo-suites that could transform into the head of the body of a Transformer. From what I understand, in Japan, they were actually robots. (correct me if I'm wrong on this).

When the headmaster toys came out, I thought the heads were completely robot. I was a little upset when I saw the Season 4 miniseries. But this was totally when I was a little kid, a long time ago.

    GRAVEDIGGER and SCROUNGE.

I'd be happy with either name. As for DEVASTATOR's name I say the same. New Name with the same concept behind it's reason:

    OBLIVION? CONSTRUCTICON? DESTRUCTOR? HOLOCAUST? ANNIHALATION?

I think also to prevent mass shifting that they DO need 7, and not 6 = 2 RED ARMS, 2 YELLOW LEGS, and a BEIGE/SILVER & WHITE TORSO with a GREEN Head/Neck.....

    PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!

  36. Ranger565 I applaud you, G1 is the best, the rest was not as great. As a Transformers fan I don't "hate" any series, I just prefer G1 like the majority of true fans.

Also, as much as it would be cool to see Devastator in his 6-7 combined robot form, I just don't see how Bay could make a bunch of slow moving, earthmovers, very exciting in vehicle mode? they would be worthless as vehicles except to dig stuff.

  43. What’s a "geewuner"??? That a food product from Oscar Mayer? Do you eat it?

First of all, I am not Japanese. I am American. I never saw the Japanese versions of Transformers, so as far as I know, Transformers ended with Headmasters in Season 4.

2nd. you guys can’t deny what I said is true about the fact that the show after season 4 ended on a bad marketing ploy. The stories for Americas got a little week and just too weird. Whatever happened in Japan? I don’t know. Humans turning into Gun’s and Head’s, in robot suits just started to kill the series. Granted it had some strong points. But Hasbro has even said it was a low point for the franchise. This is also about the same time GI Joe started to crash. Then it went POOF! Some of the transformer toys started getting crappy too. Not as articulate and less parts (I blame the Small parts that kids were choking on) I agree something had to be done, but the toys were never the same. They lost their Luster. No spring loaded shooting parts etc.

Yes! There was a VERY large Lull between 1987 and 1997. Yes transformers were still around, but were not very big. The target Audience had grown out of it. Heck I was 23 years old in 97 and was not thinking about toys. I was looking at the college women. 8)

I got upset that people quote Wiki on here. Lots of what I read on Wiki is just so wrong. And its not just only transformers. I really hope that if M. Bay does use Skyfire that he keeps the right name. I think even this last time around. Hasbro made a toy of Skyfire and they did NOT call him Jetfire.

Just every article I remember reading and after watching the Transformers movie 20th Anniversary DVD. The writers and directors of the Movie explain that after Prime dies. G2 begins. Please if you don’t believe me go watch the DVD. They said that they wanted to create a 2nd generation to appeal to more of a crowd, but in the end it was their own worst disaster. Killing Prime hurt transformers sales and death of Starscream killed off one of the best villains.. Galvatron was not met with the enthusiasm as Megatron.

Many people were annoyed by Blurr, Wheelie, and the Quintisans (Spelling). Lots of the main characters were no longer trucks, planes, Dinobots etc. They were all in the Space form. Kup, Arcee, Springer, Blurr (examples of what Hasbro called G2) again do the research to find out.

The resurrection of Prime and the Ghost of Starscream were the best of the later cartoons. It helped the series a lot, but somehow they kept changing things, the headmasters, gunmasters, Buttmasters, just did not do it to keep the story rolling. Yes some people loved it but it died. Notice how Rodimus Prime became Hotrod again? People did not Respect him. He was not the Leader that the fans wanted. (Insert Dead Optimus to appease the audience).

Oh and yeah I am a Dork. I like transformers’ and come to this site like the rest of us.

You guys are a great group of people. Just get the information correct that’s all I am asking.

    ReplyDelete
  44. G1 is not THE BEST. Its just a nostalgia feling, that make you think so. Ever thought, why for some guys it's BW that is the best TF cartoon? Because they grow up, when BW was in TV, not G1. It's the same thing. You gwo up with G1, they with BW. So, who is rigth, when they say "that was the best show ever". You, or BW fan?

I tell you, if it's to har for you: BOTH.

  45. "What’s a "geewuner"??? That a food product from Oscar Mayer? Do you eat it?"

Please, don't use such a childish jokes...

And yes, i know, how fans responded to Optimus Prime death... So, with his death, the fall of G1 started. But that would happen eventualy, with, or without that hapening. But now, we got pretty cool Animated, pretty cool IDW G1 comic book (well, ok, "AHM" suck hard... But maybe after it we will get a good series again ;P), we have got a freakin good movie, so i realy don't a reason to complain. Just accept the change, and move on ;P

  46. The BEST MOST TRULY OUTRAGEOUS SHOW EVER was...

    Jem and the Holograms.

  47. I never said their was anything fully wrong with BW. Its just had no Refference to The Transformers movies. I just did not care for it. If I wanted to see a flying Monkey I would watch "The Wizard of OZ" But Its hard to see a truck or a gun be a monkey.

    ReplyDelete
  48. But BW (at the end of seasone 2) had a realy BIG refference to G1. They found the Ark, deactivated G1 TFs that were in it, and Nemesis at the end of seasone 3... that was a HUGE G1 refference. And that was what made the show even more fantastic (beside obvious, good script, voice actors etc...).

  50. As cool as it would be to see a giant robot like Devastator in the movie, I just don't think it's a very logical decision.

It feels like too much.. and honestly, how do the Autobots hope to fight something like that? With the Dinobots? Again... that starts adding way too much into the movie.

Budget or no budget, I want the movie to feel realistic and adding in the Dinobots already feels a bit iffy to me let alone a possible 10 story tall robot that is made up of 7 large robots to begin with.

It works great in a cartoon but I don't think so much for a movie like this.

I'd just prefer quality over quantity.

  54. I don't know why certain people keep downing the the possibility of having a Dinobot, or maybe even a Constructicon or two, just to bring back the memories of those wonderful 80's.

Who wouldn't have their head pop off if there is a scene in the movie where when the Autobots would be down in a battle, and Grimlock would all of a sudden start creeping out of a blast crater ever so slowly with his eyes lighting up and dirt falling off of him and start kicking some rusted Decepticon chasis!

Haven't you ever pulled up next to a jobsite and see those heavy, powerful, massive construction machines working? I mean wouldn't you freak if one of those things transformed and start walking down the street! Shit man, that's the feeling i'm talking about! And Bay's got the right stuff bring those feelings to a big screen baby! C'mon TF2!!! Get fired up!!!!

  55. A low budget movie like Cloverfield had a giant CGI alien destroying towns and many people on forums like these are debating on the fact that it would be unrealistic to have a giant Transformers Decepticon Combiner like Devastator destroying entire towns and looking unstoppable on Transformers2 movie which is rumored to have a $200-250million budget ?
No, really.. are you serious ?
It's known that this second movie is going to be way darker than the first one, it's highly likely that Bay will bring in more Armageddon-like elements to the story and what's for sure is that the Decepticons will want to destroy Earth this time to get their revenge.

    ReplyDelete
  56. (It's known that this second movie is going to be way darker than the first one)

    It could be,
Constructicons on the movie BUT every single vehicle can transforms only from vehicle to devastator, no single bots like it used to be on G1 cartoons.

    Devastator destroys cities

Sam's mother dies on this one

Mikaela gets pregnant and maybe at the end of the movie she tells Sam after the both of them almost broke up cause 2 other people, infidelity?.

Soundwave is on the movie as we know

Bumblebee and Arcee are in love as we know

Sam results very injured as we know and there's dead people on this one not like the first movie wich was more "lite"

not sure yet about "the fallen" who or what means.

  59. Well the collors don't matter cause they can change it in computer in the post-production!!!

Maybe Bonecrusher won't be the name of the Constructicon like in G1 but they can use another bane like Devastator was Brawl in the 1st movie so the Combiner won't be called Devastator!!!What really matters is the concept!!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. That's right gui.

All I know is if they DO put this 6-7 constructicon monster(devastator)in the new movie, and make it look real, I am going to faint, due to the coolness of it.

but like I said earlier, it's hard to imagine what they would do with slow moving vehicles, when not in combined robot mode.

    PLEASE GIVE US A TRAILER!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. "but like I said earlier, it's hard to imagine what they would do with slow moving vehicles, when not in combined robot mode."

Hey man, it's the movies! They can make anything happen! Don't forget the the tank in movie 1 that was rolling down the highway. The top speed of that (which was an M-1 Abrams) is only about 40 mph. But it looked ok in the film for a quick highway shot. In reality it should have showed up like, after the fight was over. Even if the combiner isn't in the movie, we'll take a Constructicon or two, maybe as a teaser for what's coming in TF3! They could just have them show up in a scene out of nowhere, just like Frenzy on Airforce 1. We don't know how he got there, but who cares, that was a kick ass scene!!

GOD DAMMIT WE NEED A TRAILER NOW BAY! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  62. Okay, I was so excited by hearing the specific vehicles and how amazing a movie devastator would be that I couldn't help take a crack at what he might look like. Understand this is rough, and in my style -- which is not hyper real...

First I assembled the different vehicles scale-wise. Final color is not correct here. This is the best a quick google search would do. I arranged them the best way to get that Gorilla/big upper body strength thing we heard about...

I used Josh Nizzi's amazing Long Haul concept as the center to give that green G1 basis...

I'm not a painter, but I enjoy messing about on photoshop. Understand this is just a rough concept. My goals were to get a sense of size, proportion and general feel. Doing my best to use the movie aesthetic, though I know I've missed the mark with detail. It's rough!

But it was also important to arrange the colors in a way that it references g1 devastator. I did this by using Green as the center and giant head, and by using purplish cybertron tech. I also was interested in these giant machines interlocking, and using the different colors in a way that made them integrate.

Lastly, the scale was the most fun. The thought that one of Devastator's surprise guns could be bigger than Prime himself made me smile. Also, tried to get the windshield and grill as part of his face.

This is a bit more whimsical than the movie style, but that's just my taste. And since know one else has tried it, thought I'd give it a shot. Hope you enjoy my stab in the dark.

  66. Thanks for the kind words, anonymi... It was lots of fun to create.

I was going for big, badass power but I guess comedy is inherent in a huge robot wrecking stuff. Glad you found it entertaining.

Hope they get more pure entertainment (comedy/drama/coolness)from the physicality of giant bots in the next film.

Ironhide: Why are we fighting to save the humans? They're a primitive and violent race.

Optimus Prime: Were we so different? They're a young species. They have much to learn. But I've seen goodness in them. Especially in Monkeytoad. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings. You all know there's only one way to end this war: we must destroy the Cube. If all else fails, I will unite it with the spark in my chest.

Ratchet: That's suicide! The Cube is raw power, it could destroy you both!

Optimus Prime: A necessary sacrifice to bring peace to this planet. We cannot let the MONKEYTOAD pay for our mistakes. It's been an honor serving with you all. Autobots, ROLL OUT!

    Jazz: WE ROLLIN'!

  68. Now that's some solid dialogue. Ironhide is a closet human hater. Watch him...

  69. Can you imagine how much Diesel fuel Devi will take? Jesus!!

I dont think the autobots have much to worry about, I for some reason dont see megs paying $3.50 a gallon for diesel

  72. 2 dumptrucks is what everybody has heard. Maybe your just quibbling about verbiage. There are multiple names for the same vehicles, no?

There is no such thing as a "payloader" you fuking retard. It was a rubbr tire loader. And an excavator, not a fucking steam shovel dumbass.
