The TFW TF2 Insider brings us more news about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. This time we can exclusively reveal both alternate modes for Soundwave. He will appear in a Cybertron mode, which will turn into a satellite, and he will also appear in an Earth mode - this will be a pickup truck.Siebertron didn't provide the pick up info but they said they where told about the satellite mode also. I have my doubts but as usual time will tell. Thanks to Rich for the heads up.

A satellite would have to be completely stationary, how would that benifit anyone at all? He would have to transform into his robot mode to move and that would just blow his cover. and if he tranforms into his truck mode, from his satellite mode that would completely blow his cover too! Hopefully they get creative with it though. GIVE US A TRAILER!!!!

GM is putting out their new H3T (truck version) so why not throw into movie as well.
Afterall, we really haven't seen a lot of Decepticon alt vechicles yet. Maybe because they are all flying aircraft lead by Starcream. The filming we were shown on ET, Access Hollywood, and The Insider...shows F-16's flying over and bombing the lil town that Shia and Megan were in. Those could be Thundercracker and or others.

Here's my 2 cents: maybe, just like the little satellite-like probe that Teletraan-1 launched to scan earth modes for the Transformers in the G-1 cartoon, maybe Soundwave, in Cybertronian satellite mode, after feeling the need to get to earth, scans the earth for an alt mode,and scans a black truck-like vehicle.
ReplyDeleteI say, "truck-like vehicle" because MONTHS AGO on this here site, I remember TFlive posting pics of a TF-related auto show where a BLACK HUMMER H3 was shown sitting next to a huge Autobot symbol from the movie - and if it sounds unbelievable that a satellite could do that, do you guys remember the movie, "Enemy of the State" where some g-man told Will Smith's character that satellites could zoom in on a quarter lying on the street? That is actually a real-life fact. Maybe Orci, Kurtzman, and Kreugher added that into the script. We'll see come 6-26-9. Can't wait.
One question though: IF Soundwave's earth mode is a black truck-like vehicle, then what the hell does Ravage (which I believe was also shown on this site as that creature that was on a windshield) transform from? Hmmmm. . . . .Sounds like Soundwave's robot color scheme may be black like the character Soundblaster from the old cartoon. We'll see.

ReplyDeleteWhat better way to disguise yourself than to blend in with your enemy ;) Blackout, Bonecrusher, Brawl, Barricade and Starscream were all vehicles used by the human good guys.
What about the SR-71 Blackbird? I read somewhere in here that it is the alternate mode for Jetfire, but for me I guess and I know I'm way off on this, but to think of it, it is much better suited for Soundwave since he is the intelligence/communication officer of the Decepticon. And the fact that the SR-71 Blackbird is a retired strategic reconnaissance plane, which is a really really cool spy plane for that matter, suit the theme of the Decepticon blending in using military hardware. And Ravage could probably hide in the belly of the plane ala Scorponok coming out of Blackout from the first film. The Blackbird to me do more justice to him than a satellite/truck. The right hand man of Megatron in the air informing all the situation down below to him, while he rolls out as a tank. (A truck looks puny beside a tank)

OK, can I see this on black & white somewhere? I simply cannot believe that people refuse to go to see this movie because they do not agree with the design of the robots. ReplyDeleteSoundwave will probably look different in the movie than he did in the cartoons and comics, but so did Ironhide, Bumblebee, Starscream etc and you probably went to see TF1 regardless.
I know only two pickup trucks on that movie. GMC Topkick C4500 is alternate mode of Ironhide. Perhaps Hummer HX is Soundwave's Earth alternate mode.

2.Soundwave's voice must sound like it did in the 80's cartoon, or at least close enough to sound as cool.
3. Must contain/control Ravage, Laserbeak, Rumble, etc. (at least 2 or 3 of his spies)
4. Must look badass, if Bay HAS to make him a vehicle, at least make it badass, and in robot mode, must look similar to his G1 coolness.
5. Aww what the hell, just make him a mass shifting cassette player!!!!

For those of you fans that think that Mr. Bay messed up the movie(s) because he didn't conform completely to the G1 series, you've got to remember that this is an entirely new continuity and that he's starting from scratch, granted he's using some old characters, and I wouldn't be suprised if he simply made up some new ones, he's the one getting paid to do these movies, not you. When you can make your own TF movie then you can pay homage to G1all you want. But for right now just wait until the movie comes out and then complain.

That's not true at all. Autobots Blaster and his cassettes, Perceptor, and others could also do the same thing.
Im a G1 fan, and im open to Soundwave's vehicle/communication/etc. mode. in this movie, as long as he looks cool, sounds cool, and has his spies workin for him, Im good to go!

That concept art is not perfectly real. That satellite mode is real. On photo that satellite sends two things onto earth. That might mean only one thing: Soundwave's minions, Ravage and Laserbeak. Now I know tht Ravage is not only minion of Soundwave.
