Update: Well turns out that, yep, there can be more pictures of this toy. Two more thanks to links provided by Snortpocket.
Update 2: It seems the pictures just don't stop. How many of these are there out there now? From TFW2005, more pictures of Soundwave. Below is a great closeup of his head and one potential alt mode of the figure but more pictures can be found here.

ReplyDeleteWell, it looks to me like he's definitely got that Orbital Satellite alt-action going on. Maybe I'm wrong, but with a FINALLY clearer image, we can see that his loser torso isn't that truck part some people were brewing about; it just happened to appear that way in someone's vivid imagination because of the previously blurry pictures.

Bumblebee: smaller yellow scout, lots of similarities in robot form.
Jazz: Sport car, very similar robot mode(visor), personality characteristics.
Ratchet: Medic, alt mode is a rescue ambulance.
Ironhide: always wants to fight, personality, weapons specialist. vehicle mode is different, but still a truck/van/SUV type.
Starscream: Advanced fighter jet.
Barricade: sport car
Megatron is the only robot that does not have a similar alt mode, but even so, They wrote that into the script, where Megatron combines his arms to form a cannon.
The writers, graphics dept. know how important it is to keep their characteristics in tune with the g1 counterparts, and would be foolish to go wayy off and mess up such an important character. Probably THE most sought after character in TF2 ROTF.

Yeah, like First Aid, or Fixit, or any other bot witch ambulance alt. Red Alert from Armada was more similar to him, minus paint job.

How many jets were in G1? A lot. Could be anybody. If they didn't name him Starscream, i wouldn't have guess it's him.

Personality reasemblence, maybe. But not alt/body. So Soundwave can have a diferent body too, if we accepted Ironhide, right?

Proof that transfans will bitch about anything. If this is, indeed, the Soundwave toy, its perhaps the most reminiscent of the G1 version of all the characters. We've known for a couple of years now that if Soundwave was going to make an appearance he wouldn't be a tape deck - so that leaves his other important physical characteristic: his head. We won't find out about the voice until at least the teaser (crosses fingers) but the toy's head looks pretty damn spot on.

It seems like transforming into a jet , achieving orbit then transforming into a satellite for whatever reason he would , would make sense
Don't forget that the finished movie Soundwave would look considerably tidier than this, as they can take more liberties with how parts get hidden than you can on a toy.

I know that with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, Megatron, Starscream, Barricade and Scorponok there will be Autobots Arcee, Skids, Sideswipe and Jetfire and Decepticons Soundwave, Ravage and Constructicons. I need to yet know Chevrolet Trax Autobot, Audi R8 Decepticon, names of Constructicons and real name of that pretender who disguised herself as student called Alice.
