TFNet08.com has released the images of The Fallen toy. The images include the instruction book showing that the alt mode for the character will be a Cybertronian jet (bit of theme with that). This finally confirms that the title of the movie, Revenge of the Fallen, is referring to a literal character and is not a metaphor for the return of Megatron. As the first photo shows, the head matches exactly the
enhanced poster image so now that little mystery is cleared up. Also I do believe that it is this character that is gave Optimus Prime that
devastating blow to the head in the trailer. It is pretty clear that part of the film story is there is tie to the Transformers race and humanity via ancient Egypt and
the pyramids (where The Fallen is probably found). I do believe that all the red plastic represent flames, probably a nod to the
comic version that helped inspire the movie character. Thanks to all the site readers (cypherXR was first) for sending in the link and pictures.
Below is a comparison of the poster and The Fallen's face side by side. Obviously the toy doesn't have the same detail but it’s clearly the same face. The next image is point out a few similarities that help prove that the Fallen was in the Superbowl trailer. Notice the similarities in the symbol on the toy and the leg. Also the red plastic probably means hot or flames which is similar to the two hot spots on the knee that hits Prime in the head. Not conclusive but it strikes me as something Bay would do, sneak in the Fallen without actually showing him off.

I think it's Megatron that kicks or "hits OP in the teaser. When I see it on TFmovie.com and keep repeating it you can see the rust on the bot that is hitting OP. Same as the pics they posted of the hand holding down Shia with the glifs. You can see all the rust from possibly being in the ocean.(If it is Mega) What you think?

ReplyDeleteIn my books, this shows there is a 99.999 % chance of "The Fallen", as a separate character, being in the movie. Hasbro would not release a toy of this, with the "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" text on it and NOT have it in the movie (for example, the “Wreckage” character from the first film’s toyline). That would be a stupid decision.
I had always hoped that the revived Megatron and “The Fallen” were separate, unique characters, and NOT ONE IN THE SAME.
I do like the design. This should be the worst nightmares of both Autobots and Decepticons alike. I hope "The Fallen" is like 70 feet tall and has an appearance that would strike fear into the optics of even Megatron himself. I think that they should change the colours to more of an orange-ish, rust or burnt colour like in the comics. Some CG flames would be good too.
This will make interactions even better. With, as I figure out (but I may be wrong):
1.)The Autobots (with the defected Jetfire)
2.)Megatron (and his Decepticons)
3.)Starscream (and his Decepticons)
4.)The Fallen (and thus, possibly introducing Unicron?)
Just my thoughts.

First example that sprang to my mind was Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" which refers to BOTH the travel into an unfamiliar, uncivilized territory AND the darkness that lies within a person. The Fallen can refer to BOTH the character AND Megatron who has FALLEN and wants REVENGE.
Sorry I can't think of an example that involves comics or cartoons and half of you morons still won't understand.

ReplyDeleteBut still, maybe Bay/Orci/Kurtzman have one more Autobot card up their sleeve. From what we know at this point, the balance of Autobots/Decepticons is way out of whack. Counterpunch brings up a good point, the filming at the boneyard in Nevada is still a bit of a mystery to me... and if I recall, there were a lot of Autobot vehicles in the shots from that filming. So who knows? It's all speculation, right? I wouldn't put the Superion possibility to bed yet.
I think they will combined together. Bay seems to put twists in everything and he tends to do think that are unexpected, so it could happen.

It looks like The Fallen is a pretender by the view of it. It kind of looks luke that samuri decepticon by the armor. His a deluxe class because of the instructions. To me, Fallen is both a technorganic and Pretender but also founder of the decepticons. Bay is making this movie more interesting by the Title Revenge of the Fallen (aka Megatron gets resurrected while Fallen is discovered).

ReplyDeleteUh, what??? First off, how is it a pretender, it doesn't look like an actual human, which is what the pretenders do (ie, the "Alice" theory). Also, let's leave "Beast Wars" and "Beast Machines" out of this, there isn't any technorganic baloney going on here, just because he's green doesn't mean he's in any way organic, unless you're planning on telling me that Hound and Brawn are technorganic.
Also, how does his obvious Egyptian inspiration (for storyline purposes he's probably the one doing the inspiring) make him in any way simliar to Bludgeon, aka the samurai decepticon?
Folks, there's a reason none of us are screen writers, and I mean real ones. Your Silverhawks fan film does not count, unless Dreamworks bought it of course. Other wise I think we need to start leaving the story writing to the pros, the absolutely baseless theories that are starting to crop up are far worse than the ones we had when there was no plot info at all.
This movie isn't going to be the deepest piece of fanboy fellatio ever made, the fact that they are pulling out a character that to mainstream America is totally obscure is a bit of a longshot already,they will not be including every TF geeks wet dreams in this as well. To the "you and your fucking superion" poster... I could see it now, Optimus, BB, and the Ewoks take down the Decepticons, Devastator, and The Fallen with rolling logs and catapults. This isn't Braveheart either... these are "giant fucking robots".. I would think, whoever has more, wins.

If you even bother to read the TF Movie Prequels comic you would notice that most of the Decepticons are flyers in Cybertron. So it's obvious their Earth mode shall also be jets/planes.

My opinion: The Fallen= Jetfire in his Cybertronian mode. There maybe flashbacks to Ancient Egyptian times just like there was flashbacks of the discovery team for Megs in the first movie. But he will already be the SR-71 when they (Wheelie and whoever) find him in the museum. His earth name is Jetfire. Again, this is just my opinion.

i know its been said in other message boards but lets be honest...there are many similarities btween this picture and jetfire...especially the comparisons of the robot modes..granted we havent seen a deluxe version of the robot mode for jetfire..but the plane nose btween the legs, the broad shoulders, it looks very similar...and lets be honest, how many cybertronian jets are we gonna hav in this movie anyways ?? its the mode jetfire came to earth in, hes found , maybe in the '60s, reactivates, flies off, scans a sr-71 in low orbit, hes low on energy, lands inconspicuously at an airforce base and goes into stasis...just speculation but thats what we're here for isnt it ? besides that instruction sheet looks strange, the block that says "the fallen" is twice as bright as the other white on the page and its a bit crooked...as if it was photoshopped on...wouldnt be surprised if bay is messin with us again.... u all saw his post about the phone survey....he said we were wrong on that and that hes been reading all the online chatter and we have it "all wrong"....now since most of the chatter since the title has been announced has been about "the fallen" it makes sense that thats what he means... but i guess only time will tell....the mystery is quite interesting...and please all u fanboys declaring victory, keep ur panties on...its not a competition...

I believe that Jetfire and The Fallen are two separate characters. The only similarity between the faces is that they are both black.
ReplyDeleteAs far as who the Autobots are going to have to fight against Devastator(??? - if that huge robot at the end of the teaser is actually 1/7th of Devastator), we won't really know until June - unless of course, something else leaks out before then.
I personally think the Fallen is probably the first Decepticon, and I also believe that the Decepticon symbol is based off of his face. We'll see.
Well, his Jet-Mode reminds me of the Transformers GalaxyForce/Cybertron MasterMegatron/Megatron, when transformed into Jet-Mode

first of all, if the plot goes like...the fallen was one of the first decepticons, came to earth before megatron and was somehow affiliated with the egyptians, than thats BULLSHIT! why? common sense...the cube crashed in 10,000 BC (as said in the movie) but in the prequel animated comics 'transformers beginning' when they show megatron crash in the ice, they jump 4 MILLION YEARS LATER to the scene with archibald witwicky :S. the egyptian civilization at the time of the pyramids? over 3,800 years ago, completed around 2560 BC. that means the fallen came to earth AFTER megatron? I don't think so. BIG confusion or I'm just dumb. somebody sort this out.

As for "Why The Fallen is on Earth?", maybe it's kind of like "War of the Worlds". The Fallen may have been on Earth for millions of years, and is waiting to be awakened and pop out of the pyramids? Sam holds the key to the location of "The Fallen" and the Decepticons want to harness the power of it and need to capture Sam. I haven't read any of the comics, and thus probably have facts messed up, but that's just my guess.

What made Transformers a good movie?

3. The army can kill the Decepticons? Why even have the autobots.
4.Transformers look like metal scraps glued together.

6.Formerly respectable star sinks to a new low? John Turturro Jon Voight,Golden Shower Bumblebee pees now and farts? comedy gold....

17. For an action blockbuster there is not much action: 5 min of action in the beginning 10 min of action in the middle and 15 min of action at the end. In a 2 hr and 30 min movie. All of which jumps around from robots to humans every 2 seconds, due to the quick cut editing. Shaky Cam and close ups ruin most of the action.

Something close to the 80's cartoon design could have been achieved.
Nanotechnology is a legitimate reason for parts of the transformers to disappear or for mass shifting.( LIKE THE CUBE! )

The outsides of the ALT MODE would be like armor that could split apart or change in minor ways to accommodate for movement.
The mass area of joints or the blocky parts can bend or reline itself.
Instead of having their guts exposed they could have the outer shell of their ALT mode act like armor.
The Nanotechnology would allow for more pleasing Aesthetic by adding simple yet believable appearance between the Alt mode armor plates and the human like areas and joints.
So you can achieve a balance between the 80's cartoon and Bayformers !
Will Transformers 2 be as good as the first one?

Sure to get the Oscar this time, as long as we still have Michael Bay's AWESOME character development, 20 camera using, seizure inducing can't tell whats going on shaky cam, fast cut editing, emphatic tight close ups, helicopter in the sunset, extremely nauseating, repulsive, over the top product placement, and slow motion over dramatic explosions.
I sure hope so this movie will be AWESOME AND RAD TO THE MAX EXTREME with my A.D.D and short attention span.

About the Fallen, I know now that those four red eye looking things are not eyes of the Fallen, they are patterns in his aircraft mode.

And the toy clearly shows a decepticon symbol, something the fallen, at least according to the fanboys, shouldn't have... add to that the obvious similarties in both the face and body to jetfire..and also jetfire's profile which describes him as old and geriatric and also a decepticon that changes sides...I say its jetfire, only bay and orci know for sure....bay is enjoying this deception so much he actually confirmed a character just to mess with all u geeks that take this nonsense so seriously that u curse and try to humiliate people on this blog over a movie. ..seriously get a life, that's for all u nerds.
