TFW2005 has posted four pictures (mostly blacked-out) whose silhouettes indicate what characters they could be. One of them (left) seem to verify that that Optimus Prime and Jetfire have a combined mode complete with wings, boosters and a large gun, must like what their Legends class counterparts indicated. The other key chains look to be Starscream, Megatron, and Bumblebee. That is two classes of Transformer 2 toys that show the combined mode which makes me wonder what other classes it will extend to and whether or not that mode is used in the movie.

ReplyDeleteIt does say Optimus Prime, and at this point, I'm still very skeptical about him and Jetfire combining. Perhaps once I see the movie I'll change my mind. Overall though, very cool!

i really would like to see starscream try to fight megatron in this movie. he was actually obedient in the first one (kinda). lol

ReplyDeletecan't wait to see what the Optimus/Jetfire combo looks like. From the blacked out pic, it seems very "Gundam"-like. Hope we get some more sneak peeks soon of robot designs and toys. Does anyone know what the full count is for characters yet?

ReplyDeleteThe optimus caption is a cover. They may still want to keep the name of "Jetfire, Skyfire" under wraps. I do not believe there will be any combination of Optimus and Jetfire, they are not combiners.

Even though there's no detail there, I still like what I see. I think Op gets his butt handed to him and later, after some convincing, the Decepticon Jetfire turns to the Autobots upon learning of the Fallen. Something like that anyway, but leads to Prime and Jetfire combining. Why not right? I for one am for the concept in this movie.

And I'm absolutely certain that Optimus & JetFire will combine in the film -- after-all, who else on the AutoBot-side could possibly stand _any_ remote-chance against Devastator?
Oh, and the whole 'NEW CHARACTER'-label adds further credence to the argument that MegaTron will indeed be resurrected as GalvaTron. Obviously.

Given the fact that Mr Bay also said that Megatron will not feature in T2, further adds credance to Megatron being ressurected as Galvatron....

From the Bumplebee pic, they look like they'll be pretty good detail/quality. Good, because I need a new keychain! LoL

I'm okay if Optimus and Jetfire combine, but only if they do it once, in a big flashy, 'this is the only way' style. Not like in the cartoons when they combine four different times and each time shout: "Optimus Prime...Jetfire...COMBINE! To form..."
So, with this being like the third picture I've seen of the new Megatron WITHOUT his crab claw hand, does this mean that he doesn't have that 'claw-cannon' right hand? Maybe it was just for concept art, and was merely an idea.
ReplyDeleteI kind of liked that idea. The claw could've grabbed one of the small Autobots and severed him in two, then with a cannon embedded on the inside of the claws, shot someone else.

I think in an episode of Transformers Cybertron show, Prime and Jetfire merge as well in a similar fashion to this. It was an episode where Starscream stole some artifact that he wore on his head that made him extra powerful and like 120 stories tall. If it's true that Megatron will not be in this sequal. Bay must be planing on focusing around Unicron in the third movie then, since Unicron made Galvatron. ReplyDeleteHahaha. Silly Bay, labeling Megatron as a new character. Does he really think he's still fooling us? He's probably going to justify his lies by renaming him Galvatron, but as his name has yet to be confirmed, I'm not setting my mind to either name. He will be what he will be.
ReplyDeleteDefinately Jetfire...same engines as on the SR 71...regardless of what the name says....if it were Prime and Jetfire combined...i think it'd be a little bigger..and kinda clunkier honestly...That silhoutte isnt jumbled even in the slightest...its sleek and defined. Looks like a kick ass Jetfire outline 2 me....

The bumblebee keychain must be old because the front bumper is from the camaro in the first film, not "revenge of the fallen"
