It is good to hear Peter Cullen doing Optimus Prime. The graphics are solid but not sure if what was shown is in game graphics are not. Now most significantly is the end of the trailer where they explicitly merge the Decepticon logo into the face on movie poster indicating a clear link.
In addition below are a few pictures from IGN that show off the character models and also Bumblebee fighting off a Decepticon. One thing I noticed about the Decepticon is that its alt mode may look very close to the M270 Launch Rocket System which I think was one of the photos in -=boM=-'s gallery. A gallery that Paramount has since had pulled from the web (update below).
Thanks to Danny for the heads-up on the trailer and to Adam for the pictures.
Update: Thanks to anonymous fans, below are the two pictures of the rocket launcher taken by boM at White Sands. While I think a rocket launcher is likely the alt mode of the first Decepticon fighting Bumblebee, the pictures are not conclusive proof that the rocket launcher is anything more then a prop for the film rather then being used as a Decepticon. Makes you wonder though.
Everything looks in-game. Nothing good enough to be cinematics.
ReplyDeleteOk, so maybe the guy in the poster ISN'T Jetfire. :) Nice to hear Peter Cullen's Prime in the game. Looks cool.
ReplyDeleteI like how the in the trailer the Decepticon symbol morphs into the image on the poster...sounds like we might still have The Fallen in the movie.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see the Bethlehem Steel in a video game. Also the Audi Transformation looks Great!
ReplyDeleteBB is fighting two different bots in those pics.
ReplyDeletePENTAGON!
ReplyDeleteI hope its better then the last one...
ReplyDeleteif im not mistaken, that was blackout's alt mode at the beginning of the trailer...
ReplyDeletethis trailer just proved that the thing on the poster is a decepticon symbol!
ReplyDeletejust like the first movie it was a autobot symbol close up.
For the poster two above me, Why are you on a Transformers fansite, if you aren't a Transformers fan?
ReplyDeleteSo apparently if you don't voice 100% support for all things TF, you're not a fan? Hate to break it to you Slushie Man, but that makes you a fanBOY
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna go on a limb and take a shot at guessing who the M270 Launch Rocket System is supposed to be. My guess? Onslaught!
ReplyDeleteok is there anyone out there that has heard of maybe hot rod being in the movie, and am i the only one who remembers the call sheet with the black porsche at the smithsonian. i know im not i wonder what character he'll be i think there are still some characters that will surprise us at the end, what you guys think
ReplyDeleteI hardly doubt hot rod would be in one scene seeing his popularity with the fans
ReplyDeleteWell, I got the first game on the Xbox 360 when it came out so no doubt I'll be getting this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm also not sure if these are all ingame graphics or cut scenes. Most appear to be in game graphics, however. The cut scenes in the first game looked like beefed up ingame graphics (because they did have actual CG cutscenes, also but I think that was just for the game's opening).
A lot of those graphics look mostly like the first game's so I'm just assuming that they took the same character models from the first one. Activision is just the publisher but they switched developers from Traveler's Tales to Luxoflux, same guys who did the Kung Fu Panda game which was actually really good for a movie game. Graphics were decent for a movie Next Gen title and game play was solid so I expect this game to be just as good, maybe even better then the first.
I feel bad for the developers, though. Usually a game that is coming out in such a short time would have had many trailers to show it off by now.. but because they're being so secretive about the Transformer's designs, they can only show off very little.
Hey I just wanted to pop on and say how much I enjoy this blog for Transformers information. I've been coming here for a couple years and it's really top notch. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI first found you on Groundswell's first Transformers lens on Squidoo. I really like the one for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen as well. Do you have a good list of fan sites on your blog somewhere?

Spoiler:
ReplyDeleteMy idea is that the rocket launcher is just a prop however if he was a charecter in the film we would have heard about it by now through leaked or released info. If he is a robot in the film he most likely will be a drone. I hope he is called Demolisher which would be a good name to call it.
Wow, I can actually contribute info, i am so excited...
ReplyDeleteI actually worked for a while on the production line of this rocket launcher for Lockheed Martin. The 2 pics at the bottom are actually of 2 different launchers. the left one is the M270 which is based on a tank platform, the right one is called a Hi-MARS (Hi-Mobility Artillary Rocket System) You'll notice it is not a tank platform and is a 6 wheeled truck instead, hence the hi-mobility.
I'm not sure for the game, but for the movie I would have to assume that they are just props since there are 2 similar but different versions.
Hmmmm.....I Too See Bulkhead's Resemblence!
