Silverbolt Video Review

Peaugh has posted a new review from the Transformers 2 toy line. The review is of the Antonov An-225 Voyager class toy from a few weeks ago. He calls it Silverbolt; an appropriate name from the G1 days, so I will too until the real name and his status in the movie is verified. My assumption is this character is how the Autobots and NEST get around in the hunt for Decepticons but the only information we really have is there is a grey colored toy of the Voyager class size that may or may not be released with the Transformers 2 toy line. Anything past that is pure speculation. And no this isn't "proof" that the aerialbots are in the movie. As for the toy, it looks like it might be worth a purchase. Thanks to Bruno for the link.

  1. Just because they made a toy of it doesn't mean it will be a character in the movie.
Remember how many vehicles from the first movie made it into toyland? Including the tow-truck that hauled Bumblebee's broken ass through the city?
    Don't jump to conclusions, fanbrats.

  3. It is very likely that he will end up in it because that plane that he is has been spotted on set multiple times in different places. I'm not sure if he will be Silverbolt though, because a Revenge of the Fallen aerialbot toy package has been seen which includes all five aerialbots and they are much smaller than this "Silverbolt" and look completely different. Could this be Bay getting confused and putting robots on the wrong sides and calling him Astrotrain? Just putting that out there...

  8. While I don't want to get my hopes up, Silverbolt would be the best explanation as to how the Autobots and NEST get from one place to another in the film such as China and Egypt.

  9. Massive cool,a lil on the slanky side but still cool

  10. Remeber though there is still no confirmation he is in the film aloso if he or she is in the film then they might be starting to introduce more fan favourite charecters. My hope is they somehow manage to introduce Blackarachnia as some kind of spider reminisant design such as a Combiner made up of several Can Am Spyder robots who cant think for themselves who function as one hive mind. I`ve always been a fan of the fact she is the only transformers in beastwars to go one on one with megatron and come up with cool catch phrases while she is doing so.

  11. Could have used a bit more detail however i suppose i will be okay with it because of the extra`s. Although i`m not entirely sure whether the extra`s are to scale. Also if this is in the film then will all the autobots travel in him or her or will they already be there and Optimus is flown over. :?

  12. I'm not an aircraft expert, but this aircraft isn't an exact match to the Antonov An-225, the An-225 has 3 engines on each side, not 2. The landing gear and the shuttle on top does suggest the An-225 though....

While this info may not be canon in the movie, but there's only 1 An-225 in service currently, and it's white, not grey. The actual plane is really big, so construct a prop of it would be fantastic!! The An-225 is also the biggest aircraft flying currently.

But i'm happy enough to see this aircraft in the movie, it really explains how the Autobots are transported. Good job!

    I can't wait :)

  13. This plane is a combo of a couple of others. The detail is horrible!!!

    I STILL SAY FAKE!!!

  15. Let me help you guys solve the damn mystery of this giant Autobot. Ok, there is a scene at the plane boneyard, remember? So there would be thousands of different old or wrecked planes from whatever type & model.

So " Silverbolt" lands there & couldnt scan an intact form of an aircraft but instead he becomes a mix of both the Antonov & the Galaxy Globetrotter. ( FOR EXAMPLE.)

    There ya go.

    Mystery solved.

  16. How could anyone like that Beast Wars/Beast Machines crap. It was horrible. and where the hell does it take place?

  17. Replying to Essex:

Beastwars was good. Without beastwars we would never of had Megatron as a Dinosaur. And besides it was Beastmachines that was Crap because they changed the altmode of the designs too much.

I believe i can finally prove the true identity (Silverbolt was a fan chosen name) The real identiy of this transformer is Jetstorm. Thats right Jetstorm. If you want to see a version of him see these links:
    Picture:

    Wiki
    http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Jetstorm_%28Movie%29

And no this is not a April fools silly joke because i hate that sort of stuff.

The picture shows they are incredibly similar and it also include the missile which is now a Space shuttle. There done. All credit to the discovery to me. Thanks :)

    I like it. So what?

  19. Scorp, don't forget that Wiki is user-edited information and isn't necessarily always true - it's just as likely to be unproven speculation as anything else.

The fact of the matter is that neither Silverbolt or Jetstorm look anything like the more detailed style of the bots in the movies. I'm going to go with them just being toys in the movie line but not actually in the film.

The wiki link is for a redeco of a early version i am just saying this charecter could be called Jetstorm because they have similar alt modes and robot modes. Also the amount of detail on the TF2 toyline changes as the supreme class devastator has little detail yet the deluxe class rampage has tons of detail.

All i`m saying is that if it is called Jetstorm i would like a bit of credit for discovering the name. :) Only a little bit :)

Scorp, Jetstorm is dead. Killed by Prime in Alliance # 4 comic. And yes Jetstorm was an Antonov.

Blackarachnia? Long-shot to be in any film but an interesting choice.
Acree will have maybe 5 lines in the movie. I can't see them going to character with her but then again, you never know Bay.

Thanks.Maybe he is resurected though or the comics maybe considered canon. Then again its only an idea. But still the design is based on that version of Jetfire redeco which was called Jetstorm.

Good point i cant see how they can develop over ten new charecters on each side while doing a dark film. Maybe the comics will be the only explanation of what the charecters motivation is. I expect that Arcee will have a few lines probably explain why she is a female if the Transformers dont need to reproduce.

    ReplyDelete
  25. That will be an interesting explanation for sure.

Although it would probably fall in line with all the other 'biological' things that they do.

This is a quote from the Variety article a few posts after this one:
"they spit, they outgas, they sweat, they snort."

Why would they need to outgas (grunt when you punch) or snort during a fight if they don't breathe? What are they sweating or spitting? Why would Bumblebee let his lubrication leak out on to the agent - doesn't a mechanism need oil to work properly? There's way too much unexplainable stuff going on here. Of course.. it IS a movie about giant alien living robots that turn into perfect replicas of vehicles. Ok fine.
