G1 Matrix of Leadership Box Set

October 20th doesn’t just mark the release date of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen but also the release of Shout Factory’s Transformers Matrix of Leadership Edition Collector's Set that contains all three seasons of the Transformers cartoons that started it all 25 years ago. I believe this is the same set that was released earlier this year for online purchase but now your local retailer can stock it in time for Christmas. Below is press release that details the extra features of the set. Currently Amazon lists the retail price as $169.99 but has it on sale for $152.99. Thanks to Ben1227 for the link.

  1. I picked this set up back in July off of shout factory’s website. I also got the complete G.I. Joe set and they are worth it. The picture looks amazing and does the sound (It’s not from those Rhino releases. Bonus features kick some ass and the “cast” interview was great but short. Got the decepticon magnet on my fridge. :D

The packaging is sweet and it’s well worth it if you want the original cartoon series all in one place. For some reason the original movie wasn’t in the set (There’s also no “empty” space to put the movie in like G.I. Joe set). My guess is they didn’t grab the rights for it.

Paid almost $200 due to shipping and USA/Canada conversion but it sits great on my shelf. Well worth it. :D
