Transformers: Exodus should be hitting stores soon if it hasn't already and writer Alex Irvine provided MTV Movie Blog with a new short story that is not part of the novel. Hasbro considers the Transformers: War for Cybertron as canon for the early origin of "The Great War" and the relationships formed during it. I assume that could also apply to the book and the short story that explains exactly how Bumblebee lost his voice. The story also indicates that the movies and this origin are all part of the same continuity as there are references to the 13 Primes, AllSpark and more. Click here to read the entire story or below for a quick summary. (via AllSpark)
(Spoilers) Optimus Prime is warned by Alpha Trion that Megatron was going to make a move to capture the AllSpark. Seeing no other option, Prime makes the decision to launch the AllSpark into space since Megatron's overwhelming numbers would eventually lead to its capture. Bumblebee volunteers to run interference on any Decepticon forces, which turns out to be Megatron and his troops. Bumblebee successfully stops a flanking maneuver by Barricade and attacks Megatron while Starscream in turns bombs 'Bee. While this is occurring Optimus Prime and Arcee successfully launch the AllSpark into space Bumblebee, severely damaged by Starscream, makes the mistake of taunting Megatron about his failure to capture the AllSpark. In revenge, Megatron crushes is vocoder, "as a reminder that I can kill when I please, and grant mercy when I please. But there is a cost. And for you, the cost is that voice of yours that you love so much.”

I think you are confusing 2 different continuities. Transformers: War for Cybertron is canon for the history of G-1. Transformers Exodus is canon for the movieverse. Exodus also pretty much craps on the backstory laid down in the IDW comics.
ReplyDeleteMegatron ripped his voice box thingy. Anyways i think transformers 3 should be called Tranformers Forever, what do you guys think it should be called
ReplyDeleteTransformers: Revenge of the fallen sucked but this will own :D
ReplyDeleteTransfomrers 3 : Bay screws this one up to
ReplyDeleteTransformers 3: Bumblebee still doesn't have his voice
ReplyDeleteAs far as I remember it's just a novelization of that event in the prequel comic of the first movie.
ReplyDeleteTransformers: Mikela Banes sucks
ReplyDeletewhat sucks is that it mentions Jetfire when in Transformers 2 he clearly states that The Fallen left him on Earth which means he couldnt have been on Cybertron during this battle.
ReplyDelete"Transformers: OFFLINE AND ENGAGED"
ReplyDeleteNow I know. I am a very big fun of transformers. Ever since. I love everything about transformers. Specially the robots.
ReplyDeleteAnd knowing is HALF the battle...GIJOE!
ReplyDelete(BTW...God gives with BOTH honey AND vinegar.)
There was a scene in RotF uploaded on youtube that was basically an extended scene of the garage scene between Bumblebee and Sam.
ReplyDeleteBumblebee says, "What. Is. Your. Purpose. Sam?" The first three words are from the radio, and Bumblebee uses his voice to say Sam's name.
I would imagine that the voice actor for Bee had filmed other scenes, but Michael Bay decided to cut them out because he wanted to keep Bee cute and adorable by being mute. It really pisses me off. It would have been great to hear Bee speak more.
And I would think that in DotM Bee would speak, but he doesn't.
