On her character, Carly, Huntington-Whiteley tells us: "She's English and is working for the British embassy... I can't tell you more! That's all I can say for now!"
Huntington-Whiteley was cast as Sam's (Shia LaBeouf) new girlfriend after Megan Fox left her breakthrough franchise. "I went to the casting unaware they were looking for a new female lead", says Rosie. "We were told it was for a 'nemesis' role and I left thinking I was awful. The next day I was offered the lead! I met with Shia that evening and within three weeks I was on set shooting my first scenes..."

In two separate members, Transformers: Dark of the Moon cast members spoke about the film. Tyrese Gibson spoke with MTV describing the film as "the biggest and best" of the series while Rosie Huntington-Whiteley spoke briefly with Total Film about being cast in the movie.

For reasons that I really don't understand considering the film is primarily about Transformers, some fans find the replacement of Megan with Rosie to be controversial. At this point I will remove all the Megan defenders or "movie will suck without Megan" comments mostly because it doesn't matter. It isn't like they are going to go back and reshoot with Megan. It’s a done deal, rehashing it over and over and making other fans miserable accomplishes nothing.
ReplyDeleteAs for everyone else, just ignore those few people. They are barely worth the time it takes for me to hit a check box and delete their comment, so don't waste your time posting back to them because I will probably have to add your reply to the delete list. If nearly a year later they still rehashing this over and over, there is nothing you can write that will make any difference.
yeah...seriously who really cares if megan or carly or whoevers in it is in it or not...I WANT GIANT ROBNOT FIGHTING KICK ASS ACTION!
ReplyDeleteLol Megan Is ugly anyways
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU
ReplyDeleteThank you for telling those morons to shut it.
ReplyDeleteYou know it's basically just been one person that's been going on with this thing. He's been going on since last summer, and not only on this forum. He's been known to post multiple posts and replying to his own posts to give the impression that there's several people agreeing with him. The problem is that he always seems to manage to provoke people into long, pointless and stupid debates on this subject.
ReplyDeleteThis site owner confirms to be an employee of Paramount Pictures/Michael Bay.
ReplyDeleteRosie doesn't work on screen and that is a fact. Michael Bay did his worst female casting ever.
Rosie is not hot and it's just dumb having her as new Sam Witwicky girlfriend. That is going to ruin the trilogy and there will be millions of disappointed fans.
Please remove post at 6.50am. now he's flameing the site and Rosie.
ReplyDelete@Bryan: do you work for Paramount too?
ReplyDeleteDANG THANK YOU FOR TELLING THE MEGAN LOVERS TO SHUT UP! Who cares who's Sam's girlfriend? I don't even CARE if he HAS one! I just want to see really big robots shooting at each other and turning into cars.

@Anonymous 2/15/2011 9:55 AM: so you are a 5 years old guy unable to follow anything else going on screen that just cares about toys,uh? Well, that is a minority of Transformers franchise customers despite what Hasbro may nowadays think.. but they should know that otherwise they wouldn't have sold rights to Spielberg in the first place. They must know that the majority of Transformers franchise customers and actual viewers worldwide are long time fans since G1 now in the 25-40years range.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought Rosie was hot but I must admit I was somehwat skeptical when she was cast. That being said I'm willing to give Bay the benefit of the doubt; when you look back he has a pretty good track record at casting his movies and if she earned Steven Spielberg's approval that should say something.
ReplyDeletein all honesty, the 1st movie was the only one where Sam "needed" a girlfriend, since he was more of a corn-ball and needed the female companionship. if they'd have cut her before #2, that would have been just fine. we would have had more time for the pretender, wouldn't have had a toy truck humping some chicks leg, and countless minutes of her doing absolutely nothing to move the story forward. now maybe for part 3, Sam can grow a little bit as a character by not having a full time girlfriend to worry about. and no, I don't work for Paramount.
ReplyDelete@anon 11:38, you mention G1. you do realize the G1 series had very little focus on carly and sam's relationship until they got married and had Daniel. she wasn't a focal point of the show and most of the folks watching back then were only interested in the toys and watching giant f'ing robots beat each other up with limited human involvement, save for the Witwicky's.
people should really stop complaining about megan fox.man this transformers not megan fox formers.
