DOTM: Rising Storm #2 Preview

Wednesday is here and with it comes two new Transformers comic books - Transformers: Heart of Darkness #1 and Transformers: Dark of the Moon - Rising Storm #2. Darkness is part of the non-movie IDW TF universe while Rising Storm is a prequel to the movie but I am not clear if it before or after whatever events are part of the video games. The covers and first five pages of Rising Storm #2 can be found here.

  1. So, they're going with the "Transformers were already on Earth" storyline....again with Shockwave crashing on Earth. Really? Sigh. It worked in the first film, got old in the second. Now it's just annoying. Oh well.

  2. at this point in time i'm beginning to think earth has a higher population of transformers than cybertron.
everyone an their brother is crash landing here.

OMG TRANSFORMERS are on MARS, OMG transformers are on the MOON.
OMG we dug up some transformers again.

  3. To anonymous above think again. Where did all those Decepticon ships from the Superbowl tv spot come from? The Moon? Mars? Earth? No they all came from Cybertron. Alot of people think Cybertron is a dead planet. The All Spark gave the planet life, and without it the planet dies. Now the All Spark is destroyed. Sam holds the future to their race, he absorbed the All Spark as The Fallen said. Just because most Autobots and Decepticons left Cybertron does not mean EVERYONE left. There is still a war on Cybertron. Autobot and Decepticon forces are still active. Some Autobots(Optimus, Ironhide, Ratchet, Bumblebee and Jazz) and Decepticons(Megatron, Starscream, Blackout, Scorponok, Brawl, Bonecrusher, Barricade and Frenzy) left for a mission to find the All Spark. The Autobots got reinforcements from Cybertron. Sideswipe, Jolt, Arcee, Chromia, Elita 1, Mudflap and Skids they all came from Cybertron. Shockwave brings a whole army where did he find so much soldiers? Cybertron.

Sorry for the long post, it was meant to be some sentences. It became a history lession.

  4. i bet near the end of this movie when the autobots are in their darkest hour, yet another transformer will be found, who was hiding here all along, to save the day.

  5. Transformers- Megatron was already on Earth centuries ago.

Transformers 2- The Fallen built the machine cetnuries ago, and it showed the Transformers were around during the early 1900s

Transformers 3- Shockwave crashed landed on Earth a century ago.

    See the pattern?

It's just repetive, and shows a complete laziness on the writer's part. Yes, I get they can from Cybertron (duh!!), but Bay and the writers come up with something other than they some Decepticon crashed here a centuries ago, or have visited here prior to the ivasion. Like I said, it's just lazy writting.

  6. I agree with the first anonymous the whole Shockwave crash landing on earth sounds to much like the Megatron crash landing story. I think these "preguel comics" are getting out of control. They have nothing to do with the movies. Why are Chromia and Elita 1 on Cybertron? Last time I saw TF:ROTF they were with Arcee. And why bring up Barricade in the comics all the time, didn't he die? In my opinion the comics are a pass. There gonna give you false info about DOTM.

  7. Anonymous 1:59 the comics give incorrect info about the movie. In DOTM Shockwave is still on Cybertron.

  8. Mirage, who appears in this comic is red, but not believed to be Ferrari-Autobot, because his face have no resemblance with that red-face seen in Chicago. But Shockwave was too shown with different body type than in movie. So there is a possibility that Mirage might be this Ferrari-Autobot
